PowerLine published the artful deceptions of Podhoretz mentioned below. We couldn't fisk the whole thing; there's lots more there.
Then one of the PowerLine founders--John Hinderaker--popped up with an essay taking Trump to task for demanding a payback from Ukraine for the $350 BILLION or so the US taxpayer sent there.
Really, John????
Where's the petroleum that Iraq was going to send the US in pay-back for the BILLIONS spent there--resulting in not a "democracy" but in a far-less-stable Middle East, not to mention 100s of thosands of war casualties? You forgot about that, John? We didn't.
See, John, you seem to confuse the United States with the United Way. That's not how it should work. And your asinine comparing of Ukraine to Germany...........well.........it's partially right; both of them had a bunch of Nazis. But see, Germany was an enemy. Ukraine is our "friend" (snicker, snicker.) Unlike the Morgenthau Plan--which would have completely destroyed Germany, this one has an outer limit.
It's very simple, John. Even a NeoCon should be able to understand it. We sent $200 BILLION there to support a tin-pot twerking piano player who dared Russia to play rough because Victoria Nuland, another NeoCon, told him to. Being somewhat stupid and a LOT greedy, he lost the dare. But in the process, he took US weapons and is selling them on the open market.
You claim Ukraine "elected" him, so Ukraine is responsible. Europe's contributions were guaranteed-payback. Ours were not--but Trump actually means "America First" when he says it. Screw the EuroWeenies, John.
Of course, you could write a check on your own, John.

Appeals Court Blocks Biden-Era Student Loan Forgiveness Plan
https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/appeals-court-blocks-biden-era-student-loan-forgiveness-plan-5812098
The Eighth Circuit says the Biden administration went beyond the law by canceling loans rather than ensuring repayment.
........A federal appellate court has blocked key provisions of former President Joe Biden’s student debt relief initiative, ruling that the Department of Education overstepped its legal authority in implementing broad loan forgiveness through its income-contingent repayment (ICR) plan........
.....The judges determined that the SAVE Plan went beyond this framework by forgiving loans rather than ensuring repayment, making the policy inconsistent with congressional intent......
“Though Joe Biden is out of office, this precedent is imperative to ensuring a President cannot force working Americans to foot the bill for someone else’s Ivy League debt,” Bailey wrote in a post on X. “HUGE win.”
With this latest ruling, millions of borrowers enrolled in the SAVE Plan could see changes to their repayment terms, particularly those who anticipated early loan forgiveness.
Gee, thanks.
