FBI's McCabe: Poison??

Here's an interesting story about a (former) FBI agent who got crosswise with notorious (D)-supporter McCabe of the FBI.

And here's the part that is REALLY interesting:

...Many senior U.S. government officials who had worked with her throughout her career defended her openly during her battle with the FBI and McCabe. One of her biggest supporters was President Trump's former national security adviser Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who then was head of the Defense Intelligence Agency and offered to testify on Gritz behalf, as first reported by Circa.

Early this year, a highly classified leak revealing Flynn's name and an apparent conversation with the former Russian ambassador prompted his removal from the White House and part of the FBI's investigation into Russia. McCabe played a central role in the Russia investigation.

In June, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Charles Grassley, sent a letter after to the Justice Department raising questions regarding possible conflicts of interest with McCabe and the FBI’s investigation into Flynn....

Ya think?

It's been clear for some time that the FBI is compromised.  The ex-Director appointed himself judge, jury, and prosecutor in the case of Hillary Clinton's national-security leaks, and the "special prosecutor"/ex-Feeb is setting himself up for a long and comfortable stay as a pain in the ass--to the President.

It's time for McCabe to leave and take all his friends with him.

Ryan Grows a Pair (After Nancy Shows Him How)

It appears that Paul Ryan is still allowing Nancy to lead the way.

Talk-Talk vs. Walk-Walk

The Amazon Hat vs. the Wally-World cattle.

Amazon.com Inc., far from dominating the retail sector, is actually the weakest of the big U.S. players based on operating results, Moody’s Investors Service said Wednesday.

The e-commerce giant is the subject of a number of myths regarding its size and clout that mask the reality of its position compared with rivals like Wal-Mart Stores Inc...

Oh?  From what you've seen on the InterTubes, Amazon is just the biggest....whatever....on Earth, and pretty soon it will be delivering goods to Mars!!  BUY THE STOCK!!  NOW!!!!

On the other hand....

...The perception that Amazon is poised to take over the grocery business via its acquisition of Whole Foods, which closed this week, is another myth, said O’Shea.

“Online sales still account for only about 10% of overall U.S. retail sales, with a much lower percentage in the grocery segment, leaving the big brick-and-mortar retailers, led by Walmart, still really formidable competitors in the industry,” he wrote....

Wait.  There's more.

...While Amazon is clearly disruptive, it does not dominate any category in which it operates. In consumer electronics, for example, Amazon has about a third of the share of Best Buy Co. Inc. BBY, -1.51%  .

“When it announced that it would enter services, we think it received way more attention than it deserved,” said O’Shea. “Best Buy has Geek Squad embedded with its customers, and 20,000 employees will be difficult to tackle, especially when considering the added advantage of the store base to support this effort.”...

Umnnhhhh....Whole Wallet/Whole Paycheck does around $20BN in food sales.  Kroger does around $130BN--and WallyWorld has 25% of the market with $200BN.

Say what you like, but in the end, bullshit walks.  You might want to take a hard look at your Amazon holdings.

The McMaster You Don't Know

Apparently this general is a blooming idiot in battle-command situations.

With friends like Mother Jones, Slate and the Washington Post offer fawning praise for a Republican military commander, the reasons underlying those plaudits deserve further investigation. When anti-American, anti-military, George Soros-funded, extreme leftist smear operations like Media Matters go to war to defend a Trump political appointee, it casts a shadow on everything about the man. When the anti-American, terrorism-supporting, Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated CAIR defends an American general, the alarm bells drown out all other sound. And officers who have witnessed his “leadership” in the unforgiving crucible of combat are now sounding the alarm....

And that's before you read the story on the 3rd ACR at the link.  It ain't pretty.

FBI to Clinton Investigators: "F*&^ You"

The more you know, the more you despise Mordor-on-the-Potomac.

The Jihad That Doesn't Explode

Kilpatrick reminds us that not all jihads require knives, trucks, or bombs.

...Cultural jihad is a long-term campaign to influence and even co-opt key social institutions such as schools, churches, media, business, and courts. For example, chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood-linked (and politically active) Muslim Student Association can be found on every major campus. And substantial grants from Gulf State kingdoms have persuaded American universities to adopt Islam-friendly policies and curriculums.  Catholic colleges are no exception. Most of them present a whitewashed version of Islam to their students. And some Catholic institutions, such as Georgetown, have become little more than PR agents for the Islamic way of life.

In addition, Islamists have been quite successful in penetrating federal government agencies, including security agencies....

Need another example?  How about one demonstrating the UTTER STUPIDITY of our masters in Mordor-on-the-Potomac??  Specifically, the UTTER STUPIDITY (or maybe it's worse than that, eh?) of General McMaster.

...consider that a gentleman named Mustafa Javed Ali was recently appointed as Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council. The problem here is not that Javed Ali is a Muslim, but that his last job was with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)—an organization with links to terror organizations.

CAIR is the quintessential cultural jihad organization. It has a small army of lawyers at its disposal, and it will sue you at the drop of a hijab if you should dare to oppose its agenda. CAIR is just one of an alphabet soup-full of Islamic organizations that work tirelessly to transform American society into a sharia-compliant society. CAIR, ISNA, ICNA, MAS, MSA, USCMO—there are about 50 major cultural jihad organizations in the U.S., and hundreds of minor ones. Think of them as akin to the many leftist groups that work night and day to turn America into a utopian socialist state. The leftists will sue you if you don’t bake a cake for a gay wedding, and the cultural jihadists will sue you if you don’t make it with 100 percent halal ingredients....

Yah, the NSC is a great place to have a Muslim terrorist-linked kinda guy, eh?

Buy.  More.  Ammo.

Courts, Crosses, Arpaio, Oconomowoc

Think of it this way:  the courts deserve no respect, which is what Arpaio gave them.

Just one sample:

...In his latest letter to the city, [Freedom From Religion lawyer] Jayne said if the city loses a lawsuit, it could be on the hook for a substantial amount of money. He cited a 2014 case in which his organization sued a school board in California for praying at meetings. The board had to pay FFRF about $200,000 in attorney fees.

Jayne also said FFRF won a lawsuit this summer in Pensacola, Florida, that resulted in the removal of a cross from a public park.

"The city argued that the cross did not advance religion, but the judge explained that 'the law is the law,' and there is simply no secular justification for displaying a sectarian religious symbol as a permanent fixture ... on city-owned land," Jayne wrote. "The law on this issue is exceedingly clear."...

Rather, it is "exceedingly clear" that the courts are wrong.  We don't have to cite the Addled Justice Kennedy, or "tax-is-penalty-is-tax" Roberts.

We've said it before and we'll say it again:  the courts have demolished the rule of law under which they demand respect and obedience.  Instead, they got Trump and Arpaio--and they might get much more.

"Spengler": Bannon Was Right

This comes as no surprise.  David P. Goldman, a/k/a "Spengler" opines that not only was Bannon right, but the US is running out of time and willpower to reverse the course.

...Goldman approvingly cites Bannon’s interview with The American Prospect last week, in which he insisted there is “no military solution” for North Korea until “somebody solves the part of the equation that shows me that 10 million people in Seoul don’t die in the first 30 minutes from conventional weapons.”

Goldman says he does not agree with Bannon “on every detail,” but commends his “brilliant grasp of grand strategy” and “deep sense of urgency about its implementation.”

“I can state unequivocally that he has a better understanding of America’s vulnerabilities than any senior official I have met in a generation, and some excellent ideas about how to get out of the mess,” he writes of Bannon....

The Usual Suspects---like Bomb-Bomb McCain--screeched about that 'no military solution' line, largely because Bomb-Bomb is an idiot and doesn't give a rip about 10 million South Koreans.

The essay does not have a lot of happy talk.  Goldman sees that the ChiComs are--long-term--the player the US has to worry about most.

...“The economic war is not a matter of dumping steel or aluminum, or even pirating American technology: China is establishing a dominant position in high-tech manufacturing, including a new US$50 billion plan to build a domestic semiconductor industry,” he writes...

...After listing a number of products invented by Americans that are no longer manufactured here – including LEDs, flat-panel video displays, flash memory, and even the solar panels so lavishly subsidized by the Obama administration – Goldman warns that we face both economic decline and “critical strategic vulnerabilities” by giving up our manufacturing base....

Can't make bombs for Bomb-Bomb if there's no steel mills here to make 'em with, ya'know.

There's one more thing, which, frankly, is more important than all of the above.

...the Western world is aging, as younger demographics surge in the Third World, and yet those aging Western populations have lost the ability to endure short-term hardship for long-term gain. This can be easily seen in the political debate over ending just about any U.S. government subsidy or welfare program, no matter how inefficient or counterproductive it might be; the number of people who would “lose” something in the process is cited, usually a number absurdly inflated by demagogues, and the conversation is over....

IOW, it will be a whimper.

SHOCK!!! Daley/DoofusEmanuel Vote Fraud!!

Richard Daley is alive and well.

He probably voted, too.

[   ] 14,000 [more] votes were cast in Chicago during the 2016 general election than there were voters to cast them, based on separate figures released by the Chicago Board of Elections, the chairman of the Chicago Republican Party has reported.

Another day ending in 'y' in Chicago.

Neologism for Ryan, McCain, McConnell, (etc.)

Caught this courtesy of Cold Fury, who was quoting a Schlichter column.

New word for the pansy-pubbies??

Fredocons.

Word.

Ryan Holding Hands With the ACLU

It's not often that a Republican is caught holding hands with the ACLU.

Paul Ryan does.

Paul Ryan, like Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Lindsey-Lambkin Graham, and dozens of others, is a Certified Lifer Republican-In-Office.  Ryan has not lived outside of D.C. since he was 21 years old although he owns a gated compound in Janesville.  Being a Certified Lifer Republican-in-Office means that you have to say and do utterly stupid (or vapid) things to keep your lifestyle.  If that means that you give up manhood, oh, well!!  If that means you have to jump in the sack with the ACLU, oh, well!!

And yah, Ryan has done both.

(For clarity:  I am not a fan of Arpaio, but I don't think he's a racist.  Like any other politician, Arpaio liked to have his face in the news, so he did stupid stuff.  Doing stupid stuff is NOT the same as being a racist.)

Ryan: Not Only a Pansy. A Failure As Leader, Too.

The 'pansy' part is the post immediately beneath this one.

The Failure part?  Right here:

...What has the GOP Congress been doing the last nine months that it hasn’t enacted into law a single one of the 12 annual appropriations bills? The same bills that would provide upwards of $1.1 trillion to run the Pentagon and the domestic agencies.

The answer is simple. They’ve been deliberately burning up the clock in order to force spending measures through as emergency continuing resolutions (CRs) or 11th hour compromises to keep the government open. This has been going on for years.  It is the very reason Washington now stands on the edge of raising the national debt ceiling above $20 trillion.

So we’ve officially entered the kick-the-can season. You can count on Paul Ryan to spin and misdirect in order to obfuscate what’s actually going on. The House Speaker is about to capitulate again to the nation’s fiscal doomsday machine. Expect clever maneuvers designed to hide the truth through yet another election cycle.

That’s exactly what Ryan did back during the 2013 shutdown crisiswhen he negotiated a sell-out deal with ultra-liberal Dem Senator Murray to keep the government open through the 2014 election.
In that case, he agreed with Sen. Murray to bust the sequesters caps by $64 billion over FY2014-2015....

It is true that Ryan (and the pack of losers he leads) will get exactly what THEY want--another term or so, along with fabulous health and pension bennies for themselves and their families--plus a lot of travel and lodging in very nice places.

But that's not what is in the interests of the USA.  Ryan does not give a shit about the US interests, however--and that's what underlies his REAL 'leadership failure.'

Paul Ryan Becoming a Pansy

Either Ryan cannot lead the House or Ryan is just another creature in The Swamp.

Or, as I prefer to call it, Mordor-on-the-Potomac.

....Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan are planning to pass legislation that would raise the debt ceiling and fully fund Obamacare subsidies through the 2018 election cycle, a source within the administration told TheDCNF. Leadership is also preparing to pass a short-term spending bill — a continuing resolution — that would fund the government through mid-December, include no appropriations for Trump’s border wall, and continue funding to Planned Parenthood, the conservative strategists told TheDCNF....

Thoroughly girly-girl, Paul.

The Donald Is Dead Wrong Here

Whatever else you may say or think about The Donald, in this tweet he is dead wrong.

“The only problem I have with Mitch McConnell is that, after hearing Repeal & Replace for 7 years, he failed!” he wrote on Twitter Thursday morning....

McConnell did NOT fail, Donald.

McConnell wants ObozoCare to remain in place.  McConnell succeeded (as did Ryan).

Do you, Mr. President, understand the term "liar"?

Reconsidering Putin & the Russkis (and the Muslims)

This is interesting.  Ivan Ilyin simply does not believe the US Gummint Line about religion, and in case you forgot that Official Line, look at anything said by GWBush or--more recently--McMaster.  While they may be 'good men,' they are ignorant as raccoons about the reality of religious influence in the lives of men--including Muslims.

Anyhow, anyone who influenced Solzhenitsyn and Putin deserves our attention and understanding.

...Ilyin was critical of Western-style democracy, emphasizing instead the importance of a strong government in accord with Russia’s autocratic heritage. Nor did he believe in religious freedom as most Westerners understand the term, instead arguing that its unique role in the forming of Russian society entitled the Orthodox Church to a permanent, special position in Russian life. And to tell the truth, Ilyin was nearly as hostile toward the Western bourgeois as he was toward Bolsheviks, for in his judgment Bolshevism was the natural consequence of a bourgeois order.

Safety and comfort had always been the true ideals of liberal democratic states, he insisted, and as a result “noble motives (religious, moral, patriotic, and spiritual) weakened and withered in human souls,” making room for “ridiculous, evil, perverse and avaricious plans advanced by totalitarian demagogues of the Left and Right.” The rise of a class of professional liars—unscrupulous journalists and lawyers—went hand-in-hand with a massive program of de-Christianization, he claimed, and quite aside from the eternal spiritual damage wrought, the sociopolitical consequence would be that the law of the land would lose its sanctity. Sooner or later the materialist perspective of the bourgeois class leads to violence and anarchy, concluded Ilyin, just as the Enlightenment’s “denial of a personal devil is gradually replaced by the justification of the diabolic principle.”...

Recall that Solzhenitsyn nailed the West's vices in his Harvard speech which has been buried in benign neglect by our 'aristocracy', which is near-synonymous with our Cloud People/City Class/Establishment.   Also recall that Ilyin discusses vis-a-vis religion applies perforce to Mohammedanism.  See "sharia law."  It is amazing that the Intellectualoids simply have not figured this out.

Nor have many of them understood "nationalism" correctly.  Ilyin does:

A love for one’s own nation does not inevitably imply hatred for other peoples, as self-assertion is not synonymous with a sure attack, and defense of what is one’s own does not mean expropriation of what is not. This makes nationalism and patriotism manifestations of an elevated spirit, rather than waves of self-conceit, egotism and bloody barbarism, as some of today’s journalists, who do not remember their forefathers and have squandered their national spirit, attempt to explain it.

This guy died in 1954 and he's talking about NBCCBSABCCNN today!

OK.  Time to listen to Shostakovich's Seventh again, eh??

CNN Calls Trump Voters Racist

"Deplorable" was not enough for CNN.

CNN used the voices of a few professors and activists to assert anyone who voted for President Donald Trump is a white supremacist in a news report Wednesday, and to blame these “ordinary” people for the violence in Charlottesville....

This is the 'news' organization used as a source by all sorts of local 'news' outfits such as FoxSix Milwaukee.  (Not a surprise--the organizations agree with CNN.)

ZeroHedge's Pure Optimist

For unbridled optimism, it's hard to beat this guy at ZeroHedge, who asks "...why NOW?" about the ululating, screeching, harpy, Left.

He has answers:

  • They know Imran Awan is the loose thread that unravels everything and he may have already turned state's evidence to the Trump DOJ.
  • They know what was in that report that Devin Nunes gave to Trump.
  • They know Hillary Clinton may be indicted soon, with all the corruption of the Foundation implicating half the Deep State.
  • They know Julian Assange didn't meet with Dana Rohrabacher to discuss Vegemite recipes.
  • They know why Donald Trump has surrounded himself with military generals.
  • They know Bannon is more useful at Breitbart being the scourge of globalists now that he's purged the bad seeds in the intel agencies.
  • They know Antifa is now under surveillance and will likely soon be declared a domestic terrorist organization.
Maybe.  But anyone foolish enough to believe that The Donald will vanquish The Swamp based on the above list is......well......smarmy.  Remember, The Donald has just committed the USA to the Graveyard of Empires and will bring us to FORTY YEARS there.   Not an enviable mark, that.

'Lovable Little Tammy' Sure Acts Guilty

That 'lovable' does not describe this harridan accurately, but it does reflect what I was told by a friend in Madistan who remarked that "....everybody loves her....".

Back to business here.  Ever watch a 5-year-old with a guilty conscience??

Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin's (Wisc.) D.C. congressional office was the only office visited by the Tomah VA whistleblower that would not sit down and speak with him, he told the Washington Free Beacon....Honl called the office's actions "undignified"...

...Marquette Baylor, the former deputy state director for Baldwin, was fired following the controversy....

....Baldwin then brought in Marc Elias, a partner at the D.C.-based Perkins Coie law firm who is considered the "go-to fixer" for Democrats in trouble,...

...Baldwin also quietly left the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee...

...Majority Forward, a nonprofit that does not disclose its donors, began running ads with Vote Vets, a progressive veterans group, defending Baldwin's actions over the Tomah scandal this past June.
Majority Forward was incorporated in 2015 by Elias, Baldwin's crisis control lawyer....

That stink?  She dealt it and hopes like Hell you won't smell it.

Ryan's Running to the Left. Hard Left.

The polling in Wisconsin's 1st must be showing that the Lefty-wack street-theater Moustache (D) candidate has some support, so Ryan is running hard to the left.

So far to the left that he's proposing to dump the Constitution into the memory hole.

...House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) voiced support for more gun control to keep guns out of the hands of people suspected of “domestic terrorism.”...

Well, then.  If constitutional rights are subject to "suspicions"......So Paul, what if I "suspect" that members of Antifa are violent thugs?  Shouldn't we just put them in prison right away and forget all that "trial-by-jury" and "proof" bullshit??

Oh, wait.  You already told us that Antifa people are no problem at all.

More from another commenter:

...What has this party done since Trump saved their bacon, keeping them in the majority, saving them from becoming a worthless second fiddle to a corrupt Hillary?  Nothing.  Just nothing.  And now worse than nothing.  I am not the first to say this, but let’s be clear, the GOP has become a party of spineless wimps and frauds.  They have betrayed half of America, betrayed the base that once supported them so well, and also betrayed their country....

You could substitute "Ryan" for "this party" and the story is the same.

Maybe the street-theater Lefty Moustache should win.  Paul can go back to working at MickeyD's.

The Ruling Class Still Hates Trump

You don't have to read 2 grafs of this "news" report (editorial, really) to get how deep the hatred for Trump and his supporters.

The quote from a has-been spy--and un-indicted perjurer--is a signal, as is the companion quote from some twit from Tennessee who wears "senator" as a label.

Notice that the Ruling Class is moving away from "Russians Did It" to "He Is Racist and Nuts".

Think the punks feel lucky?

Feds Lose a Big One Out West

A Federal jury refused to convict some Bundy Ranch defenders.  This is the SECOND Fed trial for some of them--both resulting in non-convictions.

Think Mordor-on-the-Potomac will get the hint?  Har harharharddeeeeeehar....it's only YOUR money they're spending.

Memo to Wisconsin Leggies on Stupid Budget Items

While Scott Walker has been an overwhelming positive for Wisconsin, there are some proposals which should be ....ahhhh.....mercifully forgotten.

One of them is the proposal to give every single skull-full-of-mush in Wisconsin publick screwels their very own computer.

Here's one excellent reason to ditch that idea:  IT DOES NOT WORK.

...The Maine Learning Technology Initiative was one of the earliest and largest efforts to bridge that divide. Starting in 2002, it provided a laptop to every seventh and eighth grade student in Maine. It now distributes about 66,000 devices annually, including some to teachers, at a total cost of about $11.5 million per year.

But that investment hasn’t provided clear returns. According to NPR, the state’s standardized test scores have not increased in the 15 years since the program started, and state leadership is beginning to reconsider the initiative....

Now, then, if NPR (!!!???!!!) can find a Gummint spending program to be approximately useless, why can't our Legislature do the same??

Trump Goes Native

Yah, sure.  Send 4,000 more into the graveyard of empires:  Afghanistan.

'But if we don't, then ISIS will take over.'

Yup.  They'll get Afghanistan, Donald, where even YOU have not built a casino.

Didn't take long for you to slide into that swamp-thing mode, eh?

So, Paul, Really??

Ryan doesn't think there were 'sides' in the Charlottesville riots.

So the bottles of piss and cans of concrete tossed at the cops, Paul, those were imaginary?

I'm not defending racists.  YOU, Paul, should not be defending communists and their allies.

Unless you want to, of course.

The Reality Behind "Antifa" Women

Very good observation here:

...Returning to the Greeks, they have an expression that is important to keep in mind while the rage virus runs through our society. “A Society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit.” The opposite of that is true. What we are seeing today is barren young women cutting down memorials because they remind them of the fact they have no future. The high presence of infertile women in these mobs is suggestive. One day, the cat will die and they will be alone....

And FWIW, the cat would have left if it could have.

Is Kessler REALLY a "Former" Obama Activist?

In a piece re-posted at ZeroHedge, we find this snippet:

...In screenshots from a ‘Discord’ chat room moderated by former liberal Obama activist turned white supremacist event organizer Jason Kessler (username ‘MadDimension’),...

Why does anyone think that this guy is a "former" Obama 'activist'?  Because he is sowing discord and fomenting riots & chaos for 'the other guys'?

Riots, Chaos, and Discord are the titles of the first three chapters in the Obama/Alinsky/Clinton handbook.  McAuliffe not only read that book, he is another practitioner, just like Robert Creamer and his wife Schakowsky of Chicago.  The cops fell back on McAuliffe's tacit orders, ya'know.

Don't fall for it, friends.  Scum seeks its own level, just like water, and we're seeing lots of it, false-flags and all.  Read the whole piece at ZeroHedge.

The Real Agenda at Charlottesville, Et Al.

This is the summation of a very high-level analysis of Charlottesville.

...We do not need to search for previous comparisons in order to evaluate the present circumstance. We need only pay attention to the NPR or other media focus to observe the complete absence of any attention to the question of who was responsible for allowing matters to get out of control and the correlatively intense focus on what the president’s reaction says about the nation. Then we may clearly apprehend that the game here is to disorient the society, repudiate the people’s express hopes, and pave the way for a United States disconnected from the people’s legitimate authority. It is not Trump that they hate; it is us!

BLM: The Communists in Black

Well, at least they put it on the table honestly, unlike "antifa."

Responding to the death (and entry into Hell) of Fidel Castro, this from BLM:

...the organization published an essay, “Lessons from Fidel: Black Lives Matter and the Transition of El Comandante,” in which the leaders of the movement encourage their own to “push back against the rhetoric of the right and come to the defense of El Comandante” as they “aspire to build a world rooted in a vision of freedom and the peace that only comes with justice.”...

'Nuff said.

Except for this:  Trump is more right every single day.

HT:  The Warrior

For Mayor Soglin

This is for Madison's Mayor Soglin, who has removed the marker from the graves of the Confederates who died at Camp Randall prison camp.

..."My father remembered as a child when his grandfather Luther contributed to build the Confederate Memorial in Woodlawn Cemetery. It's a bronze stele of a young man in uniform mounted on granite with an inscription that reads "In memory of the confederate soldiers of the war between the states who died in Elmira Prison and lie buried here." It stands over the old mass grave amid rows of white crosses, one for each of the 2,970 men. Milton was dead by the time it was erected, in 1937, but Luther contributed in honor of the uncle he'd never known. Calvin left no works of art, no good work, not even fine installed toilets or trains that reached the station safely. He left no children, no genes to pass down the ages. He left nothing but a brother's love.

"Now the Nazis have claimed our story, have claimed our statues, and protesters march with banners and shout to tear down these memorials, these horrific symbols of evil people which were raised in hate to intimidate and frighten. They've taken our story, and we will lose the statues too.
...

Let me ask you, Mayor:  Who is the Nazi in this story?  Hmmmmmm???

"I Was in Fear of Losing My Dodge Neon"? Nope. Lose Your Permit.

Yes, having your car stolen is bad.

Same goes for having your neighbor's car stolen.

But pulling out your gun and firing "warning shots" at the perps?

Lose your permit, ringding.

"The Party of Trump"??

Continetti gets it.  I don't know why it took him so long to actually say it.

...This president is not the leader of the GOP. He shows no interest in the job, is not good at it, and has no feel for the party structure, what makes it tick. But he is the leader of a party: the party of Trump. In truth, that is the only party to which he has ever belonged. And the party of Trump is larger than you think. Most Republican regulars support the president's response to Charlottesville. Pollster Kristin S. Anderson puts the floor of Trump approval at a quarter of the electorate....

And even if Continetti can't admit it, that "party of Trump" has one helluvalot of "Democrat" members, too.  Ask the crazy old woman who lost Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

Further, even if Continetti cannot admit it, the "Republican" party is largely a fund-raising scheme for interests which are not necessarily consonant with the interests of most people living in this country.

Which is why there IS such a thing as the "Party of Trump."  And--by the way--he is demonstrating that a "Republican" party is not a "need."  Rather, it is a "want."  Big difference, Matthew.

Kasich, the Opiod-Killing Machine

Aside from his tantrum-throwing and Holiest-Than-Anyone crap, John Kasich made a very bad decision when he decided to suck up a lot of Federal taxpayer dollars for Medicaid expansion.

Turns out Kasich became a major opiod-killing-machine.

Drug fatalities shot up by 41% in Ohio while climbing 3% in non-expansion Wisconsin.

Nicely played, John.  I don't think we want you in any other public office, thankyouverymuch.

(Maybe Foxconn read those stats, too, eh John??)

Silencing the Priest? Priesting the Silence?

Since the introduction of the OF Mass, the priest's prayers have been recited aloud, unlike the custom of the EF.  GIRM #32 is very clear

The nature of the “presidential” parts requires that they be spoken in a loud and clear voice and that everyone listen to them attentively. Therefore, while the Priest is pronouncing them, there should be no other prayers or singing, and the organ or other musical instruments should be silent.
OK, then.  Why do we sing an "offertory hymn" right over the 'presidential prayer' of the priest?  That is the practice I have observed in two different parishes, both claiming "orthopraxy".

Egads.

Why Didn't the Feebs Do THIS??

Ticker, who is a very savvy computer guy, addresses the story of the DNC 'hack.'  The story he writes about is the one which proposes--credibly--that the machine was 'hacked' by an insider who downloaded the documents to a USB drive or SD card.

That's not the interesting part.

The interesting part is here:

...Left unsaid in the linked article, but it shouldn't have been, is that if there was an SD card or external USB device plugged into the machine there is an event log from said machine documenting the exact time that said device was attached and detached.  Find that log (or the timestamp on it being erased, which is equally good in a situation like this), match it against the metadata times, and then start looking for security camera footage and/or access card logs for where that machine is and you know who did it with near-certainty, proved by the forensic evidence.

Now perhaps you can explain why the FBI didn't raid the DNC's offices with a warrant, take custody of said logs and go through them to perform this investigation -- which would have pointed straight at the party or parties responsible.....

Now you also know why the DNC did not voluntarily give up their machines for examination, eh?  Maybe the DNC already knew that Seth Rich did it, and already took their revenge??

Rubio Begs for Civil War

Little Marco Rubio is still running for President, but now with a new platform:

...When entire movement built on anger & hatred towards people different than you, it justifies & ultimately leads to violence against them...

Rubio thus affirms his position as one of the Senate's least-mentally-gifted inhabitants--or perhaps most-cynically-selfish ones.  Probably both.

For if he's serious about this, the people who are hated by the anti-life movement, the anti-marriage movement, and the pro-State-tyranny movement, now have a cause of arms.

Yah.  That's kinda stupid, Marco.  And it did NOT come from the mouth of Trump, who emphatically and carefully decried violence from ALL sides and pleaded for love and unity.

The link addresses fatuities of two other has-beens, if you care to read it.

Kasich Stamping His Widdle Feets (He's a Loser....)

Apparently Gov. Kasich, a self-appointed Moral Arbiter Queen, will thrust out his chest and run on his Moral Queenliness against Trump.

Since Kasich cannot land a Foxconn deal--and is stamping his Queenly Widdle Feets about it--and he will lose his job in 2018, what else can he do?

Declare failure and run again!

Yah, They ARE Commies!! Told Ya So!

The Durham malicious-mischief crowd is at least partially under arrest.

Three of 'em.  Every one associated with the Workers' World Party, a Commie front.

As Ace says:  "....alt-left, a made-up term."

Made up of Commies, Soros-ists, and other societal rejects who Organize Communities and call it 'working for a living.'

Support for The Donald From ....of All Places!!

Norm Matloff, who describes himself as a liberal & minorities activist (!!) says what any decent person would say about Trump's commentary.

...What could possibly be wrong with those remarks? In ordinary times, with an ordinary president, that language would be standard and received with approbation. Trump’s “crime,” in the current hysteria, is that he did not explicitly use terms like white supremacist. But wasn’t it implied in the phrase “all that hate stands for”? Has common sense (not to mention decency) gone out the window?...

Yes, Norm, it has.  Right down to the Mayor of the City of Milwaukee, under whose "leadership" the city has become the most-segregated in the entire USA and in which city the black-on-black violence is simply horrendous.  But the Mayor has managed to spend millions of dollars on a choo-choo train which--by the way--will go nowhere NEAR the inner city.

Then Norm goes at it again!!

...People want to take down statues of Robert E. Lee, a man who wrote that slavery is “a moral & political evil,” but retain statues, buildings, street names and so on memorializing slaveholders George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, the documented racist Woodrow Wilson, the suspected anti-Asian racist Franklin Roosevelt and so on, not to mention the womanizers JFK, MLK and Bill Clinton (Trump too, but he has no statues yet)....

At some point in time, Norm and I might have an animated conversation about "States' rights," which Norm thinks is outmoded.  But ya'know, Lee was not in that war to preserve slavery.

We are going through a period of violent revolution.  It would be nice and neat if the Nazis and Commies met someplace and obliterated each other totally.  But it won't be that nice, nor neat.

Too bad.  This is too great a place to waste, eh?

Laugh of the Day: Krauthammer Called "Conservative"

It's clear:  Krauthammer's past as a (D) Party nag is not really "past."  He's still a moralizing nag.

And--by the way--he's not a "conservative."  See, actual Conservatives value right order, not riots, no matter WHO is throwing the riot.

It's a pattern.  The doctor's prescriptions are wrong, too, as we noted a few days ago.

Trump's Right, Ya'Know

While the Press wets its pants, the Democrats and rioters (yes, I repeat myself) are screaming.

Let 'em scream.

...Trump made clear on Tuesday that he was fed up with continued questioning about the issue.
"I think there is blame on both sides," Trump said.

"You had a group on one side that was bad, and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent. And nobody wants to say that, but I'll say it right now," Trump added.

"What about the alt-left that came charging... at the, as you say, the alt-right? Do they have any semblance of guilt? (...) There are two sides to a story."...

If they're screaming too loud, in your neighborhood, you know what to do.

The Problem With Gummint

If only there were just ONE problem with Gummint!!

That said, here's one, mentioned by ZMan

....The credentialism and parochialism of the managerial state produces people barely capable of working on a local school board committee. Their lack of exposure to the realities of the human condition cripples them spiritually. They become ruthless, overgrown adolescents playing dress up as they ascend into positions of authority.

That brings us back to Berkeley and Charlottesville. If the political class is unable and unwilling to manage the antics of Antifa and Jason Kessler, what are they going to do when smart and resourceful antagonists come along? The morons waving flags and throwing piss-bombs at each other are the easy problem to manage. The hard problem are the well organized guys with goals beyond getting themselves on TV....

Angelo Codevilla was there first.  That was several years ago--and things haven't changed much since then (see, e.g., McYertle and McMaster).  But things will change, one way or the other.

Barnum & Bailey's Charlottesville?

Ticker raises an interesting question; the same one which occurred to me when I read this:

...What if Jason Kessler used to be involved with Occupy Wall Street and was a strong Obama supporter -- right up until, quite-literally to the day, Trump won the election?...

Well, as a matter of fact, Kessler WAS a part of "Occupy" Wall Street.

To me, it marks Kessler as an opportunist.  He's going where the money is.

But Ticker, a far more cynical guy, has another query:

...What if all -- or at least most -- of Charlottesville was manufactured by people operating through paid stooges with the explicit intent of fomenting violence -- or worse?...

Now THAT is an interesting question, indeed.  And it put's Trump's initial remarks into a whole new light, eh?

McMaster and The Muzzies

It appears that General McMaster has a strange love for Muslims, radical or (supposedly) not.

Unfortunately, that strange love may have a negative impact on the national security of the USA.

But hey!!  Let's worry about subversives like Bannon, instead, right?

If The Donald doesn't wake up soon, he's going to have another Obama problem:  they'll look alike in the history books.

Better Toilet Paper!!

Some of you may wonder why Northern Tissue of Green Bay, WI., is one of the country's leading manufacturers of toilet paper.

Here's one good reason:  Northern invented 'splinter-free' toilet paper.

Yah, hey.

Charlottesville Cops Flee the Scene

When the going gets tough, the cops take off running.

When I got out of my car yesterday in Charlottesville about 10:30 in the morning you knew this was a bad scene and bad things were going to be happening because people were congregating at Lee Park and Emancipation Park wearing helmets, body armor, carrying big heavy sticks. Nobody was intent on peace here from either side. People were intent on causing havoc and causing damage. And even as wounded were being brought out of the park police were sitting idly by. I was standing off a cordoned off area where the police had set up as a staging area, the state police, and they said you can come in here this is a safe area. But when the tear gas started to fly, thrown by protesters, the police themselves began to evacuate then. I asked the guy who was in charge, “Where you going?” He said, “We’re leaving. It’s too dangerous.”  --Doug McKelvey/Fox News quoted at Gateway

The violent ones--nazis or "resistance"--should have been hauled off to slammer and someone should have 'lost their paperwork' for about 5 days or so.  The driver of the car will get what he deserves, I hope, and it won't be pretty, either.

The cop who called off the cops?  He should join the car's driver.  Don't give us all that crapola about "putting my life on the line" any more, either.

Loud-and-Foulmouth Ex-Staffer is Confused, Too.

This rummy Scaramucci doesn't know anything--but he's happy to run his "Noo Yawk Values" mouth about it.

...During ABC News’ livestream interview after "This Week," Scaramucci was asked if he believes Bannon is a white supremacist or white nationalist. Scaramucci said that he didn't know and hasn't directly asked Bannon about his views.

I’ve never sat down with Steve Bannon and said, ‘Hey are you a white nationalist or a white supremacist?’ But I think the toleration of it by Steve Bannon is inexcusable,” Scaramucci said....

So he does not know what Bannon believes.  And--fool that he is--he accepts the Left-constructed formulation of the 'white nationalist' juxta 'white supremacist' question (both are very, very, very bad, bad, bad) and runs off at the mouth with an answer.

At least he started correctly, by claiming to be ignorant.

Can he define either of the bad/bad-think options?  Maybe.

To the point, however:  exactly what does Bannon "tolerate," and even more germane, what would Bannon DO about bad bad bad bad very bad)?  Shoot the perps?  Send the IRS?  FBI?  EPA??

Idiot with a mouth, some money, and no wife.

McCain Proposes New Maginot Line!!

"Bomb-Bomb" McCain, noted military strategist (last in his class at Annapolis), announced his new plan for winning a war which has not been won by three (or is it four?) Presidents.

Wanna know the plan?  Easy:  MORE TROOPS!!

Bomb-Bomb will also propose to create large concrete barriers so tanks cannot get into the country, or something, and he may go so far as to replace cavalry horses with small automobile-like topless vehicles.  He has also endorsed steel-hulled warships to replace oak-hulled ones, and he is intrigued by "steam-power."

Last century's war, last century's warrior.  OK, John.  Time to go home.

Trump Looks Better Every Day

OK, I'll concede that The Donald shoulda stood in bed vis-a-vis Alabama politics.

But here's the good news!!  Speaking about various striped-pants flunkies, an observer tells us:

...They also believe Trump’s foreign policy is chiefly driven by an obsession with unravelling Barack Obama’s policies. “It’s his only real position,” one European diplomat said. “He will ask: ‘Did Obama approve this?’ And if the answer is affirmative, he will say: ‘We don’t.’ He won’t even want to listen to the arguments or have a debate. He is obsessed with Obama....

Good.  Case closed.  Obama was--and remains--a Communist globalist wannabee dictator.  Fuck him.

Life at Google: "You WILL Enjoy This!"

A very clever essay on life at Google going forward, written by Google's VP of Mutually Exclusive Propositions on the topic of "The Recent Outrage."

Then it gets better!

Mercenary War? How About....

How about just get the Hell out of Afghanistan?

Leave those miserable natives to do whatever they do best--among themselves, only.

Even the Russians learned faster than we have.

Now, then, if John McCain wants to go, he can go.  Personally!!

Dear Senator Fitzgerald......

I note that you are concerned with 'payback' time from the Foxconn project; apparently it is now approximating 30 years.

Well, Senator, let's think of another Big Project that you jammed down our throats voted for:  Brewers' Stadium.

How long will THAT take before payback?

Oh--wait--we are STILL PAYING FOR IT!!

And you thought we'd forget, eh?

Baldwin Hopes You Have NO Memory

In the real world, sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.  Given Tammy Baldwin's behavior, we could conclude that she does not live in the real world--OR, because she has a disorder, she cannot identify as a "goose" NOR a "gander."

Anyhow.

...Brennan received a majority of four votes out of six from a bipartisan judicial commission set up by Johnson and Baldwin, three Republicans and one Democrat. But to receive the recommendation from the commission, Brennan needed five votes, a super-majority....

So Tammy emitted wailing and ululations.

However....

...Baldwin herself bypassed a previous agreement between her and Johnson to jointly consider judicial nominations before sending them to President Barack Obama. In 2015, Baldwin forwarded eight names to Obama outside of the bipartisan process to fill the vacancy on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals....

Just another hack Democrat with a disorder.  Move along, folks.  Nothing to see here.

New York Values, Part MCMLXIII

It's possible that The Donald would like to retract his favorable comment about "New York Values".

For another taste of those, there's this:

Motherhood Isn’t Sacrifice, It’s Selfishness
That's the title of a NYT editorial written by some HarperCollins functionary.  Here's a part of her concluding graf:

...If we start referring to motherhood as the beautiful, messy privilege that it is, and to tending to our children as the most loving yet selfish thing we do,...

I do not think that word means what you think it does.

"AIDS Prevention" for $1500/Month

The drug allegedly prevents HIV (AIDS) so United Healthcare (read:  policyholders) will pay for it.

Fifteen hundred dollars per month.

There are cheaper ways, ya'know.

Lowe's Dumps US Workers, Sends Jobs to India

There are two nooz stories on the same topic.  Only one of them tells you about exporting the jobs to India, commonly called "offshoring."

Here's the version that Lowe's does NOT want you to read:

...Lowe’s has laid off about 125 corporate tech workers, primarily at its headquarters in Mooresville.
The home-improvement retailer informed affected employees Wednesday morning through early afternoon, according to people familiar with the matter.

Many of the affected information technology job functions are being sent to Bangalore, India, where Lowe’s employs approximately 1,000 people in information and technology and analytics....

So Lowe's--selling goods in the US only--is employing more than 1,000 folks in Bangalore.

Nice!

Here's the sanitized story.  Guess which "nooz" outfit ran it?

There's More to the Story on the "Kiss of Peace"

Switching from the country's gruesome political problems to an interesting theory on the "kiss of peace" (or the Handshake which Never Stops) which was re-instituted in the Ordinary Form Mass (it was not used by the laity in the '62 Rite), we have Fr. Hunwicke.

....Having criticised his fellow Christians for witholding the Kiss so as publicly to flaunt the fact that they had been fasting, [Tertullian] goes on ' ... on the day of the Pasch, on which there is a rule of fasting which is common to all and as it were public, we rightly drop the kiss, because we don't care about hiding the thing [i.e. fasting] which we are doing with everybody else'. Those familiar with the traditional Roman Rite will recall that, to this day, we do not exchange the Sign of Peace at the Good Friday Mass of the Presanctified, nor at the Mass of the Easter Vigil (even though the celebrant has said the words). This is because we are all deemed to have been fasting.

IOW, if a Christian was fasting, they 'withheld the Kiss.'  Tertullian didn't like that because he thought it was flaunting one's fasting (holiness).

BUT also recall that until John XXIII, Catholics fasted from midnight anticipating reception of Holy Communion.  Thus, if to fast = no Kiss, the absence of 'the Kiss' from the Old Rite is explained.

 Hmmmmmm.

Orders Are Out. So Are Military Trannies

It looks like the Commander-in-Chief has issued the directive.

According to multiple reports in LGBT news outlets, the White House has issued policy guidelines aimed at bringing the ranks of the military in line with President Trump’s recent tweets.

Titled, “A Guidance Policy for Open Transgender Service Phase Out,” the document has not yet been made public.

The Washington Blade reports that, “Sources familiar with the planning said it would encourage early retirement, usher out any enlisted personnel after their contract is up, and would fire trans officers up for promotion. Basically, said a source, ‘the administration wants to get rid of transgender service members as fast as they can.’”...

Gnostic mutilation is not part of "health care," and mentally disturbed people should not be part of the military.

Civil "Servants" Revolt Coming??

There are rumors about that The Swamp is planning to give The Donald some trouble.

...Chris Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, pointed to news reports about upset employees, social media campaigns and “civil disobedience” training for staffers looking to push back against the White House. ...

That's from The Hill, a mainstream-ish 'net news source on things D.C.-ish.

One hopes that the "civil disobedience" doesn't place swamp-critters in traffic lanes.  That might be foolish, eh?

WUT?? Paul Ryan on National Security: "Meh"

A very interesting take on the "freedom of the press" thing from Paul Ryan.

“Leaks are concerning because leaks can often compromise national security but that’s the problem of the leaker not the journalist,” Ryan said at an event in Muskego, Wisconsin on Friday afternoon.--quoted at RedState

Oh.  So some Pentagon leaker can send the Army's war-planning documents to CNN and CNN can run a documentary on those plans?

You have a serious problem with morals, Speaker Ryan, if you think that 'freedom of the press' includes the freedom to destroy--or endanger--the safety and security of 300 million Americans.  For that matter, the moral code to which most of us subscribe also prohibits endangering our agents (e.g., spies), too.

Let's put it another way, Paul.  Why--exactly--do you keep armed guards at your residence?  Security?  Safety?  OK, then:  why does any other American deserve LESS security or safety because someone in "The Press" has the ability to destroy it?

Hmmmmmmm???

The Continuing Mental Deterioration of Krauthammer

We all get it, Dr. Charles:  you don't like Trump.  OK, already.  But now, Dr. Charles, you are showing your Al Gore side:  the one which is incapable of systematic reasoning.

...[Krauthammer] celebrates five instances in which, he says, the “guardrails” of our democracy “held against the careening recklessness of” President Trump. They are: the military “say[ing] no to Trump on the transgender ban”; the Senate “saving” Jeff Sessions; Senate Republicans rejecting Obamacare repeal; the Boy Scouts pushing back against Trump’s speech; and the police chiefs pushing back against Trump’s advocacy of treating suspects roughly....

Wrong on the first--not even the most rabid Lefty could support your position there.  Wrong on the second, as the President may fire whoever he appointed (although firing Sessions would have been stupid); wrong on the third--the (R) Party is the party of fraud, trickery, and deceit, Charlie; and the homo-harboring Boy Scouts?  Really??  As to the cops, well, some people just need a bang on the head, Dr. Charlie.

I hear that the Democrats need help with their messaging, Charlie.  Maybe you should raise your hand.

Your FBI: Not Just Idiots! Liars, Too.

Yah, I sure wouldn't be bragging about being in the Feebs.

Earlier today we linked to a video of the FBI (and local yokels) losing a perp that they HAD IN CUSTODY.

Now we note that the FBI is a pack of liars, too.

Swamp.  All of them are swamp.

Don't Eat Beef? Here's How to Tell!

Apparently, vitamin B-12 is available in beef, but not other stuff.

Don't get your B-12?  Here's what happens:

  • difficulty thinking and reasoning (cognitive difficulties), or memory loss
  • paranoia or hallucinations
  • weakness
  • fatigue
Beef.  It's what's for sanity!

The Smoke of Satan? Yup. Fire, Too!!

Remember when Paul VI told us that 'the smoke of Satan' was present in the Church?

Yah, well.  Where there's smoke, there's fire.  And you know there's a fire when the Vatican features Governor Moonbeam Brown (an ex-Jesuit, if you don't remember) as a "keynote speaker."

But believe it or not, Moonbeam Jerry may be the LEAST poisonous critter at the event.  Read the link, then go do some prayer and fasting.

Feebs & Cops: The Incompetents' Handbook

This is hard to believe.

About two dozen FBI and local cops arrive at a perp's house.  They drag him out.

He F(*&^%NG ESCAPES!!

Yup.  In the wind, a "danger to the community," yadayada.

The cops and Feebs couldn't run fast enough to catch the goblin while wearing their Genuine GI-Joe Combat Gear w/Combat Boots, Extra Grenade Pockets, Webb-Belt Doodad-Carriers, and AR-Slings ($599.95 at Tough Guys-R-Us, buy now!!).

It's actually humorous, in a way.

McMaster/Rice: Ain't That *Special*??

Bestest forever friends.  One was dedicated to a Communist executive, the other likes mullahs.

That's our Ruling Class!!

I told you that abortion would have consequences for the country.

"Keep Your Doctor. We'll Take All Your Money"--Obozo

Owen has the nasty facts on upcoming ObozoCare premium hikes.

And that doesn't count the adjustments to deductibles and co-pays.

This is the health-plan that Tammy Baldwin wants you to keep!!

The Long-Term Challenge for Trump and Congress

Just one paragraph from Tonelson should give them impetus.  It won't, of course.  But we tried.

...In recent decades, America has substituted borrowing and spending for saving and producing as its main engines of growth. Now even the unhealthy growth recipe has not only helped trigger a terrifying financial crisis and deep recession. But seven or eight year after those crises were overcome, the spendthrift approach seems close to exhaustion. In sports, those playing a losing game are usually encouraged to change it. How much longer before Americans and their leaders take the hint?

As we note below, "borrow and spend more, more, more" is still the M.O. for those dinks.  Their time-line is simple:  ".....until I get out of Congress and get my pension."

YOUR pension?  That's YOUR problem, taxpaying sucker!

Better Than Hoppe's #5??

You decide!!

HT:  AOSHQ

Ryan's House: "Mo' Deficit Spending!!!"

They actually put it on paper with a straight face.

The House Budget Committee has approved a budget that declares deficit spending "a sin," makes a powerful case for why this is so, and then presents a plan for continuing in this sin for nine more years.

In that ninth year, if Republicans are still in power, they intend to spend $5.173 trillion while running an $88 billion deficit.

In the tenth year, they intend to spend $5.345 trillion and run a $9 billion surplus.

Thus, will the Republicans in Congress today heroically balance the budget in fiscal 2027 — after increasing the debt every year from 2017 through 2026....

"We're the Republicans, and we're a farce."

Pp. Francis, Rousseau, and Flip Wilson

This makes sense.  Not the sense one would like, but...

...Jean-Jacques Rousseau was an eighteenth-century French critic and philosopher whose thought has permeated the West. It was a theme of his philosophy that man although naturally innocent had been corrupted by the intrusion of law and tradition, which, rather than informing and elevating, always restricted and deformed. Pope Francis has not been known to advance a doctrine of original innocence, but his persistent theme that the mission of the Church is misrepresented by defenders of the tradition, whom he unfailingly associates with the Christ-denying Pharisees, who are soul-damaging rigorists, is an idea that, while it may have other immediate sources, can certainly be traced, by however circuitous a route, to Rousseau....

Yah, well.  The Jebbies and Rousseau.  That makes sense, too.

Anyhow, if not Rousseau, how about a bit of Hegel??

...An editorial writer in the Guardian has said that Francis has changed the Church forever from a rule-bound institution to an instinctive Church. Good luck with your instincts. The world is full of divorced and civilly remarried Catholics who think it would be good to receive the body and blood of Christ. If their instincts say they are at peace with God, why not? The vast majority of Catholics don’t follow Humanae Vitae anyhow so, as Francis has written, Humanae Vitae must be revisited. The teaching of the Church should be accommodated to what is actually happening....

Or as Flip Wilson would have it, "The Church of What's Happening Now!!"

...Cardinal Newman wrote that it would be better for millions to die in pain and poverty than for one soul knowingly to commit a venial sin, that, he said, was merely a preamble to the Gospel just as “Whereas” might be to an act of Parliament. To this has been appended the fact of the sacrifice of Christ, the aid of the sacraments and the offer of forgiveness. The requirement that we love God most is ideal, and it will be realized in his elect. Without this high calling, mercy is the answer to a question that has not been asked....

Read the last line again.  Well done, indeed!
