Sen. Graham Plays "Man"

I don't know why Graham cares about State Department funding; his BFF (and the other half of the Senate Bobbsey Twins) McCain is a fine self-appointed ambassador at large.

So who needs State??

President Donald Trump's proposed budget is set to hit a brick wall in Congress, where some Republican lawmakers say the proposed cuts to foreign aid are out of the question.

"It's dead on arrival – It's not going to happen," said Sen. Lindsey Graham,

Screw you, Lindsey Bearsey Oats.

Really, Pp. Francis? Really??

On occasion, you'll see a few black-and-white film clips of the mid-1960's Packers games, and one of the clips has Vince Lombardi striding the sidelines and loudly asking "What the Hell is going on out there?"

Well, if Vince were alive today, he'd be asking the same question, except it would be about the Vatican.

...And this is why he [Pope Francis] asks for the welcoming of those young people who prefer to live together without getting married. ...

...All these situations must be addressed in a constructive manner, trying to transform them into an opportunity to journey towards the fullness of marriage and family in the light of the Gospel. ...

That written by Pp. Francis' alter-ego, Fr. Spadaro.

Oh, yes, there's more:  rumors abound that Pp F. will be signing off on "deaconesses" and married priests in the next 15 months.

The Current Tyrants: Adminisrative Statists

Mid-length essay here which hits all the high points.

Two of note:  1)  the Administrative State is blatantly un-Constitutional, and 2)  Congressmen LOVE it because they escape responsibility for the tyrant's demands.

Need more?  Read the essay.

Massingale, Again. Will No One Rid Us.....?

Good ol' Fr. Massingale.  Just can't accept that "Catholic teaching" stuff.  He's currently screwing up the minds of the yout' at Fordham, but remains a priest of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

...He said Catholics were not duty-bound to obey Church doctrine, but rather they may respectfully consider them in their moral decisions, and then arrive at their own conclusions on how to lead their moral lives — even if they are at variance with the Magisterium.

Completely ignoring Church teaching about such things as grace and the demand to live a heroic Catholic life when the "messy and complex" circumstances arise, he falsely claimed that Catholics are only duty-bound to "do the best they can, even if it goes against Church teaching."
....

And yes, he's a Weakland-era guy.

Johnny Chung's Last Testament

If you know the name Johnny Chung, you've been reading.  And if you knew that name 2 or 3 weeks ago, you were reading the American Spectator when it was uncovering Clinton Corruption.

Anyhoooo..

Johnny Chung was a conduit, putting ChiCom Gummint dollars into the Bill Clinton election effort.  Lots of dollars, for which the Clintons sold (inter alia) US nuke secrets.

Now Johnny, who also reads for meaning, understands that shedding light on the Clinton Corruption can be fatal, put together a video testifying to his activities.  You can see the video at the link.  Nothing there is new--it was (almost) all in the Spectator stories.

And he went into deep hidey-hole.

Abp. of Milwaukee No Fan of "The Wall"

Abp. Jerome Listecki sent a "must-be-published" letter to parishes.  It's rather anodyne.

In the letter he considers The Donald's actions vis-a-vis refugees from the Middle East and illegal immigrants from Mexico.

The Archbishop "would invite the President to prayerfully reconsider any attempt at a permanent refugee ban."

Odd.  So far as we know, the President has not brought up a "permanent" refugee ban.

Oh, well.

Abp. Listecki moves on.

"I would also respectfully ask the President whether the construction of a wall on the US and Mexican border is the most appropriate way to achieve the security sought by a democratic society."

Well, I can't say that I am now (nor ever was) a "wall-freak."  But every time we hear about more opioid deaths, (with most of that heroin coming over the southern border) a wall becomes more attractive.

It appears that the Archbishop was pushed--hard--to make some sort of statement.  Well, he did.  Think that will be enough for the Voces de la Frontera crowd?  (Hint:  nope.)

Weight-Watchers for D.C. Bureaucracy

It's rumored that The Donald would like to reduce FedGov employment by 10 to 20 percent.  Since there are horrific union agreements in place (made--like most of those--for the benefit of BOTH 'labor' and 'management',) this may not be an easy task.

However, allowing the 'crats to keep their jobs in another location--well, that's interesting, no?

We all know that Rhinelander, WI, can use some economic development.  So how about the entire Department of Education gets relocated there?  Employees will have 12 months to move.  Don't move?  You're off the payroll.

McAllen, TX., could use some help, too.  That's an excellent spot for the entire EPA.  IRS to Kearney, NE., GSA to Towner, N.D., and BATF/E to Chicago, where they can be close to all the action.

There.  FedGov will be a helluvalot smaller, and so will Lobbyist Row.

Surveying the Never-Trump Right and Camp-Follower Globaloney Types

Some pretty interesting material here from Matthew Continetti, a guy who is son-in-law to a Never Trump rightist.

He begins with a prophetic quote from Reagan (1977):  "The new Republican Party I am speaking about," he said, "is going to have room for the man and the woman in the factories, for the farmer, for the cop on the beat, and the millions of Americans who may never have thought of joining our party before, but whose interests coincide with those represented by principled Republicanism."...

Continetti found a new magazine to be interesting.

....The first issue of American Affairs, a quarterly journal of policy and political thought, was feted at a reception in New York City on Tuesday. I found the magazine lively and thought provoking and at times deeply insightful. In their mission statement the editors reject "a misguided and complacent consensus" that too easily dismisses widespread protest against social problems as populist exercises in nostalgia. "But our intellectuals as well as our politicians are subservient to an even more debilitating nostalgia," the editors say, "which views the ideologies of the last few decades as the only alternatives and their policies as the only solutions. They are nostalgic for a present they think they inhabit, but which has already slipped away." And this nostalgia led the intellectuals and politicians so far afield that they missed completely the economic crisis, the Arab Spring, Brexit, and the rise and victory of Donald Trump....

Holy pistol-whipping, Batman!

And--please, Sir--here's another one:

"What binds globalism and identity politics together," says Joshua Mitchell of Georgetown, "is the judgment that national sovereignty is not the final word on how to order collective life. This judgment against national sovereignty—let us state that matter boldly—was the animating principle of the post-1989 world order, an order that is now collapsing before our eyes."...

Yes, indeed.  Remember that Trump came after Brexit; and both France and Italy are about to have elections with similar stakes on the table.

Anyhow, that 'new world order' required a Managerial Class to run it.  The UN was already around, of course--a bit dowdy and having scandal problems--but there were all sorts of other Managed Global Entities which stepped up, such as the World Bank, the E.U., and various multi-national for-profits.

But the Managerial Class was not accountable to anyone except other (un-elected) Managers.

...This lack of accountability has been highlighted again and again over the last sixteen years. First 9/11 happened and no one was fired. Then Saddam turned out not to have had WMD and no one was fired. The economy came close to collapse—and the banks were bailed out. Government reform of health care only made the individual market worse. The depression of rural and working-class America was exacerbated by imperialistic environmental and financial regulations, liberal welfare and minimum wage policies, and further global economic integration. "The economic, foreign policy, and technological optimism of previous decades is gone," writes Krein. "Preserving the status quo has become the sole aspiration—and primarily for the purpose of preserving the class privilege of the current elite, which, even if not admitted, is becoming obvious to voters."...

Yes, those pesky "voters."  See, they could have kept the status quo by electing Hildebeeste--but they did not.  So that status quo-Managerial Class was the problem--as Steve Bannon has emphatically stated.

As for the kvetching press/Democrat/NeverTrump twits:

...nationalism means distinguishing between members of a political community and outsiders, and privileging the former over the latter. Such distinctions make many people profoundly uncomfortable. Look at the headlines surrounding the Trump administration's policies on refugees, travel from failed or terrorist-sponsoring states, and illegal immigration....

Got it?  Good.  STFU.

Journal-Sentinel Laughably Stooopids

Marie Rohde--assuming she still reads the paper--is rolling in laughter.

A Salvatorian priest has been charged with child abuse.  Based on his history, that's not a surprise.

But what IS a surprise is that he belongs to TWO religious orders (according to the JS story):

...Archdiocese spokesman Jerry Topczewski referred questions to Marsicek's religious order, the Salvatorians, or Society of Jesus....

The Society of Jesus (Jesuits/Jebbies) have enough problems without Fr. Marsicek.  See below post.

Surprise!! Current Jebby Honcho Vague on the Words of Christ

Fr. Arturo Abascal, SJ, doesn't like that old-fashioned 'words have meaning' thing.  Here's a short Q&A with the head of the Jesuits worldwide which will give you a flavor for (somewhat maladroit) Jebby doubletalk.

Q: Cardinal Gerhard L. Műller, prefect of the congregation for the doctrine of the faith, has said with regard to marriage that the words of Jesus are very clear and "no power in heaven and on earth, neither an angel nor the pope, neither a council nor a law of the bishops has the faculty to modify them."

A: So then, there would have to be a lot of reflection on what Jesus really said. At that time, no one had a recorder to take down his words. What is known is that the words of Jesus must be contextualized, they are expressed in a language, in a specific setting, they are addressed to someone in particular.

Q: But if all the worlds of Jesus must be examined and brought back to their historical context, they do not have an absolute value.

A: Over the last century in the Church there has been a great blossoming of studies that seek to understand exactly what Jesus meant to say… That is not relativism, but attests that the word is relative, the Gospel is written by human beings, it is accepted by the Church which is made up of human persons… So it is true that no one can change the word of Jesus, but one must know what it was!...

More at the link.

We've mentioned the Civil War now ongoing in the Roman Catholic church.  Not difficult to determine where this South American Jebby (and his fraternal pal, Pp. Francis) stand.

So--aside from 'on your knees'--where will you end up?

John (Bomb-Bomb) McCain, Secretary of State

What we didn't know about John McCain:  he can pose as Sec/State.  Explains why he doesn't want any interference from Administration people--like the REAL Sec/State, or National Security types.

Of course, Bomb-Bomb does need better phone-screening skills.

US Senators Will Be Jealous

The guy has done very well.  Better than US Senators!

...The Daily Mail reported Monday that estimates for the net worth of Russian leader Vladimir Putin range from $40 billion all the way up to $200 billion which would make him by far the wealthiest man in the world....

Money is not everything, of course.

...Putin owns a yacht worth a reported $35 million named Olympia...

He also has (reportedly) a brace of helicopters and airplanes and 20 estates.

Holy State Health Plan, Batman!!

Owen relays a very disturbing stat from Torinus.

...The state spends $1.5 billion per year to provide a fat, under-managed health plan for 65,000 state employees. That comes to $23,000 per head. That bloated number is about $10,000 per employee higher than what best practice private companies and school districts are paying for very full benefit plans....

Here's something else to think about:  NOT ONE of our "conservative" Leggies, nor the Governor, noticed that.

Think that DC is the only other-world place in the US?  Nope.  Madistan, folks.  Madistan.

Worser and Worser Yet: (D) Intel Staffing

Daily Caller has a very big story here and it's going to get more interesting as it develops.

Short version:  (D) Congress-members on the Intel Committee(!!!!) hire a bunch of ....ahhh.....integrity-challenged Pakis to run the (D) intel, foreign affairs, and military affairs computers.

Things go south.  We don't know--yet--what parts of US intel were compromised.  We do know that Iraqi money was involved.

What we DO know:  Democrat politicians will hire almost anyone, over-pay them, and pay ZERO attention to what their hirelings are doing, even with extremely sensitive information.

McMaster Seems To Be A-1

When both HotAir and Grim concur, the other votes don't matter.

McMaster's THE MAN.

Cdl. Burke: 'vonRumerstein Lied'

Control of the Knights of Malta (and its very, very, large pile of assets) has been given over to Pp. Francis' own man.  It was done outside the law--at least, as the law has been applied for 300+ years.

For whatever reason, the Pope's boyzzz deem it necessary to lie about the events leading up to their coup d'etat, too.

Sad.

Something for the US Bishops To See

There's been some yappaflappa from the U S Catholic Conference (of Bishops) about 'making nice-nice to immigrants' from Muslim-dominant countries.

To my knowledge, only the Cardinal in New York City has a degree in Church History.  He prolly knows most of what you'll see on the embedded video here.

The rest of the USCC/Bishops (and priests and laity), however, could profit from viewing it.

So.

DO IT!!

"Blue Dye" Works On One Trump Staffer (?)

From the not-too-reliable Gateway, we get this:

GotNews reported Sunday that one of the primary sources of the series of leaks that were designed to undermine the Trump Administration and his presidency have been coming from none other than #NeverTrumper Kate Walsh....

The Blue Dye trick:

“The president and his allies have been deliberately feeding her fake information in order to find her network,” says a source close to the president’s family. “It’s been going well.”...

By the way, Priebus has been implicated, too--but perhaps he was the one injecting the "blue dye."

About That Border Wall....and Drugs...

See, that "wall" thing has TWO purposes.  One is the illegals problem, which is significant.

But even MORE significant is the drug trafficking which--by and large--uses the same porous border.  (Not that the Left-O-Wackies in the City of Milwaukee will talk about that when they ululate over the opioid-deaths stats.  Nah.  Can't talk about Mexican Drug Gangs.  That's RAAAACISSSS')

Another perspective on all that comes from this essay, wherein the author notes the de facto "no guns for Mexican citizens" regulation and speculates on the reason therefor.  Along the way, he also tells us why Trump made that offhand comment to the Pres/Mexico that 'we can help take out those bad hombres you have there.'

...The astounding power of the drug cartels over virtually every facet of life in Mexico exists, because there is little motivation to actually shut down the cartels. And what would be in the best interest of the drug lords?

That’s simple – a total lack of firearms available to Juan Q. Publico, because at some point the good citizens of Mexico are going to have their fill of being slaughtered in their own streets. At some point they’re going to want to take matters into their own hands to do what the government can’t or won’t do – and that’s not good for business. So Mexico has become the self-appointed moral arbiter of U.S. gun laws not because stopping gun trafficking is good for Juan Q. No, he wants nothing more than to be able to own a firearm to protect his family. Stopping gun trafficking is good for the cartels who want absolute control of the country, because that’s just good for business....

You don't have to be too bright to read between the lines there.  The Mexican Gummint bears a large share of the responsibility for drug-gang activity.  That swamp has a helluvalot more 'gators than even D.C.

Where's "Black Jack" Sherman when you need him??

DumbAss "Media"--Like Up-Chuck Todd--v. ObozoLies

The Federalist does a great job of showing why UpChuck Todd (et.al.) deserve no quarter from US citizens.

Remember Benghazi??

...While Trump press secretary Sean Spicer fielded 55 questions on February 14 related to the Flynn debacle, Obama’s press secretary Jay Carney received only 13 questions from reporters on September 12, 2012, three of which were set-ups to blast Mitt Romney’s criticism of the administration after the attack. 55 to 13....

...On September 14, hours before the remains of the Benghazi victims would arrive at Andrews Air Force Base, Carney was still blaming the video....

...Rice repeats the line that Benghazi attack was not premeditated and was connected to the demonstrations in Cairo over the video...on Air Force One the next day, guess how many times Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest was asked about Rice’s comments? Ten? Five? One? Not once. Let me repeat that. The day after Obama’s national security advisor was on five news programs to blame a terrorist attack on a YouTube video, not one reporter asked the White House about it....

Not UpChuck Todd.  Nosiree, Bob!!  He got no questions for the massa in the Big House.  Nope.

...Here’s what they did discuss: Debate prep, Occupy Wall Street, and the Chicago’s teachers strike. An actual human reporter asked this: “It was a beautiful weekend for golf and he wasn’t out on the course. Is it safe to assume maybe he was doing some preparation at the White House?” WHAT? Then they joked about football and “Saturday Night Live....

Yup.  We should take these turds seriously.  They went to How To Be a Member of the Press School for this, ya'know.

Want more?  No problem!!  RenMan absolutely fillets SeeBS' "report" on the draining of the State Swamp.

Teh Stoooopids, It Hurts

Some sort of media critter issues forth a stupidity SO large that only the media could have issued it.

Snark On the Civil War in the Catholic Church

You can look up my previous posts on the 'civil war' topic.  The controversy is over a papal document entitled "Amoris Laetitia", which is Latin for 'The Joy of Love'.

The first snark on the document was "The Joy of Sex" because there is this YUUUUUGE ambiguity in the document concerning post-(civil) divorce re-marriage-with-benefits, which is (was??) considered mortally sinful until only....ohhhh.......12 months ago or so.

The better snark emerged today:

"Amoralis Lamentia"

You don't have to be a Latinist to get the drift there.

Heh.

Bobbsey Twins McCain & Graham, Go to War

The Bobbsey Twin US Senators--McCain and Graham--stand ready, like their corpulescent mentor Billy Kristol, to send YOUR children to war, any time, any place.

There must be one helluvalotta campaign money in that War Lobby.

The Usual BS: "Power Struggle"

You'd think that the Fifth Column MSM could come up with something original.  But then, you'd be granting them way too much credit.

Today I googled "Johnny Carson jokes" for a small project.  One of the pages that came up had about two dozen of his one-liners (and a dozen Karnak jokes, too!!)

And sure enough, Carson had a one-liner about a 'power struggle' in the REAGAN White House.

Just bring it 36 years forward and we have Priebus v. Bannon v. what's-his-son-in-law, yadayada.

Same shit, different day, folks.  That's the domestic enemy for ya.

Gander Mountain Goes BK

Well isn't this a fine kettle of fish.

St. Paul, Minnesota-based Gander Mountain Co. is currently in the process of filing for bankruptcy. The company is working with a financial advisory firm, Lighthouse Management Group, to file bankruptcy as early as this month.

The financial decision comes after Gander Mountain attempted an aggressive expansion of its stores but failed to attract new customers. To date, the sporting goods chain has roughly 160 stores, 60 of which have opened since 2012....

May be headquartered in St Paul now, but it started in SE Wisconsin.  It is privately held by its chairman and a company also involved with Holiday gas stations (!!)

Free College, For Some

At the ever-zany UW-Madistan, officials are now 'studying' a demand that Black Students get free tuition.

Offhand, I'd say that's racism.

Mary Shelley's Prediction Comes True

It took a while, but Mary Shelley's prediction-novel has just about come true.

...An influential science advisory group formed by the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Medicine on Tuesday lent its support to a once-unthinkable proposition: clinical efforts to engineer humans with inheritable genetic traits.

In a report laden with caveats and notes of caution, the group endorsed the alteration of human eggs, sperm and embryos...quoted at Z-Man's place

Just because it can be done....right??

Some Pubbies Get It. Others....

A telling short news item:

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz introduced a two-page bill Tuesday to abolish the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the darling of Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders....

Abolish it.  Schmeiss it.  Nuke it.  Not one stone left atop another.  Lamentations of the women, and all that.

Speaking of Lamenting Women:

...Other Republicans have ideas for reforming President Barack Obama’s signature financial protection agency, Reuters reports. Georgia Sen. David Perdue intends to change the CFPB to make it more accountable to Congress....

Lookie there!!  A wannabee-acolyte of McConnell!

Egg McMuffin, Bridesmaid

The last-minute substitute candidate, who was 7th on a 5-man depth chart, now states that Trump "presents a threat to the country."

This was Charlie Sykes' choice, folks.

Who Is Doing What To Whom in D.C.?

The fight is just getting underway!

See the link below for more--but here's the very brief briefing:

Back in the 1950's, the Russkis were the Epitome of Evil, probably because the US press didn't have a clue as to what was going on in Red China, or (more likely) because the US press didn't give a rotten fart about Chinese people anyway.

Regardless, the Russkis maintained their "principal evil" status until John Paul II, Lech Walensa, and Ron Reagan took them out.   The Russkis were then reduced to a regional hegemon; they still had lotsa nasty weapons and well-trained troops, but their slave-states had been emancipated.

Now, all of a sudden, the Russkis are the Epitome of Evil again!  Or so it would seem, if one reads the CIA/NSA/FBI leaker files now being airdropped like propaganda leaflets all over D.C.

(By the way, in the '50's Russia was evil because it was run by the Godless Communists.  One never sees that term today, because the (D) Party, the Deep State, and the servant MSM are also..........you guessed it!!)

Fast forward to Trump's entrance, stage right.

Trump prevailed because the vast middle of the US had had enough of the horsecrap oozing out of the DC Augean stables, whether statutory, regulatory, or shaming-rhetorical.  He offered an alternative:  the US and its citizens will be first in line and the Ruling Class will be forced to settle for much, much less.  Not only less influence and less ability to interfere with normal people pursuing normal lives in normal ways--but also the Ruling Class will get less Gummint Titty.

This the Ruling Class will not abide.  They enjoyed sacrificing YOUR children to their endless wars and monumental debts (their children were, by and large, aborted.)  They enjoyed a standard of living un-matched in the world, and--by the way--un-matched in 95% of the US, too.  And they expect to draw a retirement package which would be the envy of most third-world dictators, paid for by your grandchildren.

When that, and the Delusion-Dream of One World (run by, you guessed it) were threatened by anyone, especially a somewhat heathen and flawed man, the Ruling Class took action.

THAT is what you are seeing in DC.  Obozo and Soros in background, rioters in foreground, and the Vast Deep State--most of Congress, 2 million++ Federal employees, (not to mention their grantees in colleges) and their camp-follower Press--counter-attacking Trump.

They think they will not be vanquished.

We'll see about that.

FINALLY, ObozoCare Replacement!

While RoJo and Speaker Ryan were sputtering and fiddling, actual Conservatives were working.

...In 2010, Republicans won the House of Representatives; and in 2014, Republicans won the Senate; and in 2016, Republicans won the White House–all based on that promise to unwind President Barack Obama’s landmark health care reform legislation, he said. “We owe this to the conservatives across the country to repeal–to completely repeal Obamacare.”...

Remember that, Senator Johnson???

...Capitol Hill conservatives rallied behind the bill sponsored by Sen. Rand Paul (R.-Ky.) to replace the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Obamacare, with a patient-centered federal policy at a Wednesday press conference at the Capitol....

There's a picture at the top of the story.  No RoJo present.

...For [Rand] Paul the three top improvements in the bill are that it legalizes the sale of inexpensive insurance, expands the Health Savings Accounts which allow individuals to set aside money in tax-protected accounts for medical expenses, and allows Americans to band together in health insurance associations to create large pools of buyers for the purposes of driving down costs, he said....

Ball's in your court, Ron and Ryan.  Get off your asses.

More Silliness From Hot Air

This whole 'buy Ivanka' thing is absurd, and getting more absurder every day.

KellyAnne Conway flippantly recommends Ivanka Trump clothing while in the White House and gotterdammerung ensues.  Absolutely nobody in Flyover Country gives a flying fart about the remark, (nor about 'fashion' in general.)

Enter Hot Air to throw its 'cred' around--which demonstrates two things:  1)  Allahpundit is just another Establo-Ruling Class pouty-faced twit, and 2) Allahpundit really, really, really, wants to be in the White House making policy.

A little Fainting Couch time may repair the damage to the soul of Allah and the complete idiot at "Gummint Ethics."  Shall we make it mandatory time?

The IRS' New 'We Don't Care' ObozoCare Stance

The HotAir essay comes to the wrong conclusion.

...for the time being I’m willing to chalk this one up in the win column....

Someone made the decision that it is no longer a Big Deal not to have health coverage; IRS is not going to force taxpayers to answer the 'do you/don't you' question.

We would like to know exactly who made that decision and who they think they are....

This is not a "win."  It is another loss for the "rule of law."  The fact that the "rule of law" is ignored by the courts, the IRS, and EPA (to name only a few) does not make it any better at all.

Boots and Sabers Has It.

We've said this before:  IT'S THE SPENDING, STUPID!!

Owen not only shows that Walker likes to spend a lot of money--but in addition, he's taking that money from Wisconsinites with less resources than they had in 2007.

(And no, Robin Vos, the answer is NOT "mo' taxes")

Meanwhile, In Rome...

We have mentioned the civil war ongoing in the Catholic Church.

This short essay provides information about a new chapter in that war--a book which affirms the worst fears of orthodox Catholics (particularly those who paid attention to yesterday's Gospel).

Along with a brief review of the book's contents, the link also provides a short list of the Troublesome Ones in the Vatican today:

...Note well the names of the players intervening here. [Cdl.] Coccopalmerio [an apprentice to Rembert Weakland's BFF, Cdl. Montini], whose new book on Chapter 8 of Amoris Laetitia is being given the red-carpet treatment by the Vatican even though it is an open door to the complete degradation of sacramental discipline and the observance of the 6th Commandment, and Msgr. Pio Vito Pinto, the prelate who attacked the Four Cardinals and their dubia at the alleged request of Pope Francis, and whose name appears on one of the oldest lists of suspected Freemasons in the Vatican. The same collaborators of the papal cabal seem to come up again and again in news stories as intriguants, if only in different contexts. The same pattern can be observed with other names, including but not limited to Cardinals Baldisseri and Maradiaga, the ever-present Archbishop Victor “Tucho” Fernández, who is alleged to have ghostwritten portions of virtually every papal document since Francis was elected, and media figures and pundits like La Civiltà Cattolica editor Fr. Antonio Spadaro, Crux contributing editor Austen Ivereigh, and Vatican Insider journalist Andrea Tornielli....

Pray for them.

Got Your Crying Towel Handy?? Feds Are Worried!!

There are somewhere north of 2 million Fedgov employees (not counting military.)

Many of them are worried sick about incurring unemployment.

Shall we all ululate on the count of three?

Many of these people are also thinking of f*&^ing up the works if they actually remain on the payroll.

Some of those should be thinking about self-defense.

Just in case.

Embarrassing Errors

A local fellow who is trying to maintain visibility shows us that some memes are illogical on their face.

...There was a reason why President George W Bush made a distinction between Islam and radical Islam. He worked very, very hard to draw this line...

Bush was wrong and it should be obvious to any casual reader, but let me help you if 1) you can't read for meaning or 2) you are deliberately obtuse.  Either way it is embarrassing.

There is no difference between "Islam" and "radical Islam."  In fact, there is no such thing as "radical Islam."  It is all "Islam."

There are, however, a bunch of Muslims who are willing to take the Koran seriously, just as there are Orthodox Jews who take the Old Testament seriously, just as there are Catholics who take Catholicism seriously.

But Catholicism and Orthodox Judaism do not enjoin their serious adherents to kill all the non-Catholics/Jews (or whatevers.)

See the difference?  Don't be embarrassed, folks.

Goodell Rides the Crazy Train

Nah, it's not surprising.  It's just the latest chapter in "NFL Self-Destruction."  (There are consequences to practicing the capital sin of Greed.  It makes you cray-cray.)

The NFL sharpened its warning to Texas on Friday about a “bathroom bill” targeting transgender people, suggesting for the first time that the football-crazed state could miss out on hosting another Super Bowl if the proposal is enacted.  --quoted at MoonBattery

What would Vince Lombardi do if he found a boy in the girls' room?

Another question:  Is Roger Goodell a man?

Disrupt, Screech, Yell: Lefties Looking for Trouble

We have our disagreements with Jim Sensenbrenner.

But we don't do two-year-old temper tantrum crap as does the Left.

..."This is democracy in action – I really believe that," said Chuck Koenings, one of the people who waited in the hallway. "The last three, four months – I think our country is in crisis. I really do."...

Chuck belongs to a notoriously non-Catholic "catholic" church in Menomonee Falls.

He's right about one thing:  there IS a problem in the US.  It's the revolution against Right Order which Obama wrought and people like Chuck want to continue. They have used the tantrums and some violence.

We prefer to settle it peacefully, Chuck.

Did House IT Guys Blow Seals' Cover?

Last week we were told that three IT guys were canned.  They had access to House Intel documents.

This post at ZeroHedge connects those guys to the intel-leak leading to a very rough landing for our Seals in Yemen.

Hmmmmm.

Sore....Loser: RedState

RedState has been finding nits to pick at ever since Trump won.  Most of them are silly, so we ignore them.

'Vote fraud' claims, on the other hand, are not silly and ya'know, we shouldn't really ignore them.

Here RedState makes a fool of itself, yammering about New Hampshire.

Project Veritas found otherwise. They also found otherwise here.

Was it enough to turn the primary?  General?  I don't know.

If RedState wasn't so fixated on nits, which beclouds their reason, they'd ponder the meaning of "fraud" for long enough to understand that by its nature, "fraud" is MEANT to be un-detectable.

RIP Milwaukee Guy Al Jarreau

The Democrats and Drugs

Nah, this isn't about Democrats who seem to be abusing hallucinogenic drugs in their press releases.

This is about people who are related to or who hang around with (D) pols and who also provide prescription drugs.

Prices for those drugs are really, really, really, really high.

Co-incidence, I'm sure.

New Conspiracy!! Burke/Bannon/Mussolini!!

Apparently the latest Leftard Derangement symptom is connecting Cdl. Burke, Steve Bannon, and Mussolini.

Amalgamating good old-fashioned anti-Catholicism with anti-populist/Americanism AND Fascism is ....umnnnhhh.....a symptom, alright.  Does this author have a driver's license??

First, the MSM . Now the Courts!

We all know that the credibility of the MSM is tanked.

Now the 9th Circus is dragging the credibility of the judiciary into the same spot.

When any court asserts that NON-citizens 'have Constitutional rights,' that court is ridiculous.  Worthy of ridicule.

And whether Gorsuch likes it or not, 'the brotherhood of the robe' looks like a bunch of dress-up dollies with cotton stuffing brains.

So We're "Lazy, Decadent, Spoiled", Billy?

Billy Kristol, who has never missed a chance to send other people's kids to war, has an opinion about white working-class Americans.

....basically if you are in free society, a capitalist society, after two or three generations of hard work everyone becomes kind of decadent, lazy, spoiled — whatever,” Kristol said. “Then, luckily, you have these waves of people coming in from Italy, Ireland, Russia, and now Mexico, who really want to work hard and really want to succeed....

Umnnhhh....yah, so that explains it all!!

These Frumps Are OUT of Office for a Reason

The usual suspects with the usual request:  screw the Ordinary Joe because "science."

Except it is NOT "science," and the Ordinary Joe elected someone whose name is not Bush.

Go sell your snake-oil to Germany, boys.

What's Really Under Sykes' Skin??

What really rubs Charlie Sykes' cheeks the wrong way is revealed in the very first sentence of this little monograph:

President Trump has been singularly unfortunate in his friends (think Steve Bannon), but exceptionally lucky in his enemies,...

Charlie "gets" a lot of stuff, but like the vast majority of the Consultant Class (City Class/Establishment Class) Pubbies, Charlie does not get the link between religion (cult) and culture.  That's why the Consultant Class cannot stand Bannon; he's a reminder of their epic fails in the Middle East and in the US, because Bannon does get it, and he gets it very well, indeed.

Charlie thinks that HE should be in Bannon's chair, too--but that's another matter.

Some day, Charlie will read the actual history of the Crusades.

Good Enough for Government Work, Eh???

That phrase was--and still is--meant as an insult.

In the House and Senate, however, Republicans must think that it's a compliment.

...The promise to repeal and replace the unpopular health law was a major cornerstone of the Republican platform in last year’s election.

“To be honest, there’s not any real discussion taking place right now,” Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) told the Huffington Post on Tuesday.

When asked when he thought Republicans would start seriously working on an alternative to Obamacare, Corker said, “I have no idea. I’m not on a committee that deals with this … but I don’t see any congealing around ideas yet....

(In fact, I remember ONE (R) Senator whose entire campaign was "Repeal ObamaCare".  He was from Wisconsin.  He's gone off the radar lately because his campaign promises aren't worth shit.)

The (R) sloths have known since NOVEMBER 8TH that they have a clear path, but they just don't get around to it.  Good enough for Gummint work, eh?

If there's one thing that Donald Trump has proven, it's this:  if you want stuff to get done, get off your bureaucratic ass and DO it.  Then it gets done.

As to the rest of you:  good enough for government work--until you get fired.

Import Tax on Cars? Some Answers

From Automotive News today.

...the policy would deliver the sharpest blow to Jaguar Land Rover while giving a leg up to Ford Motor Co. and Tesla Inc....

Yah, about $17K per Jag or Land Rover.  About $0 for a Tesla.

...Ford, with significant domestic manufacturing, would need to mull the smallest price hike among major automakers, at about $282 per vehicle, followed by General Motors at $995, according to the report. The estimates aim to show the relative impact of the tax plan on each automaker...

Study was done by Baum & Associates.

More:

...In its current form, the proposed border tax could lead to the production of up to 1 million additional vehicles in the U.S. and 50,000 more jobs at car and part assembly plants, Luria [ economist at the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center in Ann Arbor] said.

50,000 jobs at total annual comp around $85K/year is not bad at all.

Ultra-Big Bank Win

The headline will tell you all you need to know.

If you like dealing with Chase, USBank, Citi, and WellsFargo, that's good, because they will do everything in their power to keep the Dodd-Frank regulatory scheme in place.

It kills off the competitors.

We note that the "free trade" Republicans don't really like all that "free trade" when it comes to the banks.  Surprised??

"Drug Death" Stories: the Mexico Connection

Every night you hear more stories about 'heroin overdose' deaths.  Milwaukee County set a record last year for those, and will break that record this year if things don't change.

You then hear that the "H" problem began with licit, prescribed, opioid pain-killers given for back pain, or some such.  When the scrip expired, the patient moved over to heroin.

What you NEVER hear is this:  the heroin comes from Mexico, and it's an easy journey since there is no Wall.  You also NEVER hear that various elements of Mexican state- and federal-governments are wholly owned by the drug gangs

It's common knowledge in the Border Patrol; it's common knowledge within CIA and diplomatic circles.  But somehow, the "press" doesn't want to talk about it.

Huh.

Not Brady. It Was Putin

In a couple of days, the (D) narrative will be in play.

1) We know that Trump is a friend of Kraft, Belichik, and Brady.

2) We know that Trump expected New England to win.

3) We also know that Putin has Kraft's first Super Bowl ring.

4) We know that Atlanta lost the second half of the game.

Put this together, you red-state rubes!!

Putin admires Trump, and knows Kraft.  Trump expects Kraft's team to win.  Putin has that ring.

Obviously, the Russians hacked Atlanta's microphones & earpieces in the second half.

Nancy Pelosi will be issuing a press release on this matter soon.

The Obozo/Clinton Lying Machine, Military Edition

When Trump told O'Reilly that the US had its own killers......

Well...

The American military has failed to publicly disclose potentially thousands of lethal airstrikes conducted over several years in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, a Military Times investigation has revealed....

...In 2016 alone, U.S. combat aircraft conducted at least 456 airstrikes in Afghanistan that were not recorded as part of an open-source database maintained by the U.S. Air Force, information relied on by Congress, American allies, military analysts, academic researchers, the media and independent watchdog groups...

And maybe we should add GWBush:

...Most alarming is the prospect this data has been incomplete since the war on terrorism began in October 2001....

Imagine that.  A Gummint which uses propaganda.

Straight From La-La Land: Nancy Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Someone should investigate whether frequent plastic surgeries and botox produce serious mental instability.

...Pelosi pivoted to the need for an FBI investigation of the president. “But let me just go back to the first part of the Senator’s statement. I want to know what the Russians have on Donald Trump,” she said. She continued, “I think we have to have an investigation by the FBI into his financials, personal and political connections to Russia and we want to see his tax returns so we can have truth in the relationship between Putin, whom he admires, and Donald Trump.”...

Ummnnhhh  hmmmmnnnhhh.

Or you could look at the Saudi/Qatari checkbook-relationship with Hillary, which has produced at least eight dead Americans.  Can't say that about Trump, even if he's the purchased bitch of Putin.

The Idiot-Obozo/Grifter-Clinton War in Syria

The MSM/Fake-News organizations can't seem to locate people to interview about the Obozo/Clinton Mess called Syria.  Maybe this will help.

Flemish Father Daniël Maes (78) lives in Syria in the sixth-century-old Mar Yakub monastery in the city of Qara, 90 kilometers north of the capital Damascus. Father Daniel has been a witness to the “civil war” and according to him, Western reports on the conflict in Syria are very misleading. In short: “the Americans and their allies want to completely ruin the country.”

Interviewer: You are very critical of the media coverage on Syria. What is bothering you?

Father Daniel: “The idea that a popular uprising took place against President Assad is completely false. I’ve been in Qara since 2010 and I have seen with my own eyes how agitators from outside Syria organized protests against the government and recruited young people. That was filmed and aired by Al Jazeera to give the impression that a rebellion was taking place. Murders were committed by foreign terrorists, against the Sunni and Christian communities, in an effort to sow religious and ethnic discord among the Syrian people. While in my experience, the Syrian people were actually very united. Before the war, this was a harmonious country: a secular state in which different religious communities lived side by side peacefully. There was hardly any poverty, education was free, and health care was good. It was only not possible to freely express your political views. But most people did not care about that.
”  --quoted at Mahound's place

There's a lot more at the link.

Here's a question:  why did the Idiot-Obozo fall for this crap?

We know why Grifter-Clinton did--it's called Money In The Bank.  (Let's not forget that the Benghazi Massacre (of Americans) happened because Grifter-Clinton was supplying arms to the Syrian Al-Quaeda/ISIS bunch--the bunch that Fr. Maes is talking about here.)

Anyhow, here's the reason for the war in the first place:

Saudi Arabia and Qatar want to establish a Sunni state in Syria, without religious freedom. Therefore, Assad must go.

Just co-incidence that the House of Saud and Qatar were two extremely large donors to the Clinton Foundation, right??

Right???

Did You Know You Are "OUTRAGED"???

Even if you did not see O'Reilly's interview with Trump--which you will NOT see until 4PEastern today--you are "outraged" by Trump's comments.

There.  Now you are caught up with your feelings.  Thank me later.

The Shakedown Machine

Williamson, who doesn't like a lot of people, definitely does not like the (D) Party.

Here he proposes that the Party is merely a front for Government Employees and--when the rubber meets the road--the only thing the Party will really, really, really fight for is its Gummint Employee base.

The adage "follow the money" applies; between AFSCME, AFT, and NEA, (plus the usual assortment of other minor player goons, such as Trial Lawyers), the money-trail is clear.

In Wisconsin, Gov. Walker busted the union stranglehold; since then, the (D) Party has lost several more Legislative seats, has no real 'leadership,' and managed to lose the Presidential election, too.

Might be fun to see what happens when Trump busts the FedGov union monster, eh??

Only ONE From Wisconsin (!)

There was only ONE Wisconsin resident (of 231 arrested) at the Inauguration Day riots .

This is disappointing.  We put a lot of money into Extreme Lefty outfits like UW-Madistan, COWS, the Madison Teachers' Union, (etc.) and all we get is ONE arrested rioter?

I think that we should cut back on the cash until these outfits do better.  When slug-a-beds like Illinois and Maryland can produce 5X or 10X the Wisconsin total, it's clear that we are wasting large tax dollars.

Write to Walker immediately!!

House Dems Employed IT Hackers (!)

Well, well, well.

It seems that DEMOCRAT members of the House (on the Intel committee) employed three brothers as IT gurus--and those brothers were doing dirty deeds with their access.

And gee, whiz!!  There is a very, very strange salary thing here, some BK's, popped cars....

....typical (D) constituents or something.

Robart's Rules?

Meh...the guy wears a bow-tie.  We are not impressed.

Neither is Ed Straker.

The plaintiff must show that he is likely to succeed on the merits, and would suffer irreparable harm if the injunction were not granted.

90 days' delay is "irreparable harm'? And--by the way--the plaintiffs represent States. So Minnesota will suffer "irreparable harm" from a 90-day delay in getting fresh Yemenis? Puhleez...

President Trump clearly has discretion to decide who to admit to the United States and who not to, when it comes to admitting people who are not citizens. Foreigners do not enjoy the protection of our Constitution.

There's more at the link; see especially the last argument whereby this poor little bow-tie pipsqueak thinks that he can be The Mouse That Roared.

Is This Not Sedition?

Somehow, the Georgetown position is not surprising.

But the essay's upshot......isn't this at least vaguely sedition?

The War in America, Part Three

As well-phrased as any of the summaries, so far:

...At issue is the philosophy of nation-state populism that drove [Trump's] insurgent campaign. It is so at variance with the ideologies of conservatism and liberalism predominant in the capital that Washington is experiencing something like an allergic reaction. Nation-state populism diverges from Beltway conservatism on trade, immigration, entitlements, and infrastructure, and from liberalism on sovereignty, nationalism, identity politics, and political correctness. Its combative style and heightened rhetoric offend the sensibilities of career-minded Washingtonians of both parties, who are schooled in deference, diplomacy, being nice to teacher, and the ancient arts of CYA.

The message this establishment is sending to Trump? Conform or be destroyed....

Indeed.  The Wisconsin (R) congressional delegation is split over Trump, with Ryan attempting to straddle.  Sensenbrenner has basically gone to ground, Grothmann will do what he's told (as is his habit), and the guy from Up North with all the kids?  He's running for Senate to replace Baldwin, so he won't get too Trump-esque.

(Baldwin, by the way, now appears to have a sub-room-temperature IQ.  Egads.)

...Congress has been in session for a month. What, besides repealing a mining regulation, has it done? Why is Mitch McConnell not playing hardball with Chuck Schumer on executive branch appointments and Judge Gorsuch? I know, I know: "Things take time." But time is the enemy. This is something Democrats and other members of the self-described "resistance" understand but Republicans do not.

Or perhaps the Republicans understand all too well, and want inertia and entropy to bring us a less populist and more conventionally Republican Trump. The doofuses....

I was a #NeverTrump guy.  Am still skeptical.  BUT I have to say that the guy gets it, by and large.  Certainly better than GWBush or his daddy ever did.

Maybe the Pubbies need a very hard, swift, kick in the ass.

Soros-Funded 'Catholic'?

Generally, if you define the terms, you win the war of words.  Here, some yapper tries to define the terms to shape a 'win':

...“If we’re nothing but surrogates for the Democratic Party and shills for secular progressives bent on collapsing the church from within, we probably should be fired, because we’re doing a pretty bad job. The idea that we’re trying to create a revolution within the Catholic Church is absurd,” Chris Hale, the executive director of Catholics in Alliance, told The Daily Caller....

Soros & Co. may not be 'trying to create a revolution within the ....church.'

But in fact, deleting the red-shaded text makes the statement 100% accurate.  '"Catholics" in Alliance' IS nothing but surrogates for the Democrat Party and shills for secular progressives.

Fixed it for ya.

McCain Still Doesn't Know He LOST

Someone should wake John McCain and tell him that he is NOT the President; that he LOST that race.

Sen. Baldwin, After Deep, Serious, Reflection.....

Well, that's bullshit.  Tammy does what The Party tells her, no reflection required.

It took Sen Baldwin about 24 hours to declare against Gorsuch.

Next time that twit tells us to "think long and hard" about something.....

Another Reason for The Wall

Z-man has a very intriguing take on The Wall, and by the way, the "bad hombre" remark of Trump.

First, he notes the meteoric rise in heroin deaths around the country.  Then:

...it is important to note the direction of the drug flow. America has never had a problem with drugs pouring in from Canada or Iceland. The flood of cheap narcotics into America starts in Mexico...

...This sort of thing does not happen in Canada because Canada is a responsible country with mostly responsible leaders. They would use the tools of the state to cripple the large scale production of narcotics. That’s not the case in Mexico, where the political class provides cover to the drug cartels and helps them violate US laws with regards to banking and border access. Putting pressure on the Mexican political class, to crack down on their narcotics trafficking and their human smuggling over the border, would have an impact on the heroin problem in the US.

Up until now, our rulers have not seen fit to put any pressure on the Mexican rulers about the drugs and human smuggling. Real countries with patriotic leaders have no tolerance for other countries protecting pirates and drug cartels on their border. They hold the leaders of those border countries accountable. Globalists have no duty to their citizens as citizenship does not exist. America’s ruling class has nothing but empathy for the Mexican ruling class and nothing but contempt for the Americans people, especially the founding stock....

Come to think of it, he's right.  Clinton, Bush, and The CommieBozo never did jack-squat about smacking the CorruptoCraticos de Mexico.

...Trump is the first pro-American president we’ve had in close to three decades. Trump seems to get that the way to address the border problems, including the drugs, is to hold the Mexican elite responsible....

That sorta clarifies the "bad hombres---we'll take them out" remarks Trump made to the CorruptoCrapico currently running Mexico, eh??

TrannyBathroom in Waukesha: Contact List

Seems like the Waukesha County Technical College has decided to let the boys into the girls' room, joining the nearby Target store in denial of nature.

They're so ....ahhh....proud.

(By the way, it's not "Law."  It's a "suggestion" from the Obozo crowd, which will shortly be rescinded by sane people.)

In the news story, some official of the taxpayer-funded entity claims that there have been 'no untoward incidents' (read:  men checking out the ladies in the bathroom) since the policy has been implemented.  Yah, well, it's only been a week or so.  Now that it's in the news......hey!!  The fun can start!!

Anyhow, here is the list of Board members who will be interested in your thoughts on the matter:

Mary Wehrheim, Patricia DeKlotz, Alan Kartz, Courtney Bauer, Ron Bertieri, Luis Hernandez, Jr., David Lancaster, Robyn Ludtke, James Riley.  Phone numbers are at the link.

The MSM Fails to Report Riots. "Fake" in Different Form

As most of us know, the MSM can (and does) fake 'news' in two ways:  it makes stuff up or distorts the reality so the reader has the wrong take.

OR it simply does not report actual news when that news does not fit their Lefty template.

So.

Last night, there were riots, lootings, burnings, and assaults at UC-Berkeley.  Lots of the action was on easily-accesible social media and news sites such as Drudge.

This morning, the websites of Fox6, WISN12, and JSOnline did not have a word about the events.

Not one word about violent protests against a gay speaker who happens to be a Trump supporter.

Not one word.

So I guess it's not "fake" news.  It's Differently-Formed Fake.

Wednesday, February 01, 2017

Pubbies Grow a Spine!!

This is news which is not fake....but which is actual news!

After the Democrat members of the committee ran away, hid, and sucked their thumbs:

...Committee chairman Orrin Hatch consulted the Senate parliamentarian, who approved suspending the rules to proceed without the AWOL Democrats...

Go ahead.  Read it again, and savor every syllable:

...Committee chairman Orrin Hatch consulted the Senate parliamentarian, who approved suspending the rules to proceed without the AWOL Democrats...

Of all people, Orrin Hatch!

And the two nominees (Price and Mnuchin) will move on to a Senate vote.

The War in America, Part Two

Z-man puts this 'war in America' in slightly different terms.

...the next year will be about the Cloud Party conspiring to undermine the Trump administration, while Trump figures out how to work around the system to undermine the system. His immigration order is a foreshadow of what is to come. Instead of looking for compromise, Team Trump will go big in order to trigger the political class and their media to overreact. This tends to turn off the public and thus turn the Cloud Party assets into liabilities, as we are seeing with these ridiculous protests....

A few years ago, Prof. A. Codevilla essayed about the "city class v. country class".  That was a landmark essay in every way that counts.  "Cloud people" is another way of saying "city class."

And they are just as despicable, even though they have nice smiles, like Paul Ryan.  (Did you hear how COMPLICATED it is to repeal ObozoCare?  COMPLICATED.  And COMPLEX.  And really, really, really, time-consuming, too!!!)

Meantime, RoJo is remarkably quiet.  Did McConnell make RoJo his bitch again?

Harley Cancels Trump Appearance

Harley-Davidson, supplier to bikers all over the world, told President Donald Trump to stay away.

They were afraid of the Soros-paid Commie activist demonstrators--and how H-D executives will be treated by their brie-and-chablis friends.  (Guess:  which motive was stronger?)

Harley, of course, will state that it was 'all about employee safety.'  These are employees who have easy access to large, heavy iron tools and chains.  Uh-huh.

There appear to be about twenty protesters employed by Soros in the pic accompanying this Fake News story.

Teh Stupid Can Get You Hurt

Giggle of the day.

...“two masked men walked into the restaurant and announced a robbery” while “two store owners” were present. “One of the owners pulled out a gun and shot one of the suspects in the back,” causing both suspects to flee....

They shoulda just asked for a table and paid their bill.

Milo: Close, But No Banana

Milo, a creature of Breitbart, quotes Thomas Aquinas.

...I’m quoting from the Church’s ‘Angelic Doctor,’ St. Thomas Aquinas,” he continued. “Human laws do not forbid all vices, from which the virtuous abstain, but only the more grievous vices, from which it is possible for the majority to abstain.”...

So far, so good.

But he goes astray almost immediately:

...“In other words, it’s not wise to punish with human law everything that may be opposed to the natural law. That means I can say it’s wrong to take innocent life, without having to say that we should outlaw abortions in every single case,”...

Wrong, Milo.  The Church has defined abortion as an intrinsic evil.  It is always wrong, in every case, period.  Abortion falls under the "...more grievous vice, from which it is possible for the majority to abstain" category.

We'll give you credit for a good start, though.
