Wuhan Flu Dates

Since the LeftyCranks are asserting that "China warned the US" about Wuhan Flu but Trump did not move fast enough after the "warning," it's useful to take a look at the timeline.

South China Morning Post has a recap.  Naturally, since this depends on the accuracy of reports from Communist China, there's room for doubt...

According to the government data seen by the Post, a 55 year-old from Hubei province could have been the first person to have contracted Covid-19 on November 17.  [Wuhan is the capital of Hubei.]...

...By December 15, the total number of infections stood at 27 – the first double-digit daily rise was reported on December 17 – and by December 20, the total number of confirmed cases had reached 60...

...On December 27, Zhang Jixian, a doctor from Hubei Provincial Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, told China’s health authorities that the disease was caused by a new coronavirus. By that date, more than 180 people had been infected, though doctors might not have been aware of all of them at the time....

...As late as January 11, Wuhan’s health authorities were still claiming there were just 41 confirmed cases....
How much time did the Communist coverup cost?

...On Wednesday, U.S. National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien said the speed of China's reaction to the emergence of the coronavirus had probably cost the world two months when it could have been preparing for the outbreak.

'Unfortunately, rather than using best practices, this outbreak in Wuhan was covered up,' O'Brien said Wednesday during an appearance at the conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation....

Let's assume that Trump was "warned by China" (a dubious proposition) on January 15th.  That means that in less than 6 weeks, he assembled the expertise, determined the course of action, and initiated the protocols.

Not bad at all, considering the umpty-billion 'what-ifs' and 'how-abouts' involved.

No doubt the LeftyCranks would have a better, more quickly-assembled and -executed plan.

Right??

Meanwhile, at Church........

Journeyed over to Holy Hill Basilica-shrine this AM for Mass because it's a large church and I should have been able to "social-distance" without much trouble.

No trouble at all!!  On a normal Sunday the basilica is 2/3 to 3/4 full; today it was 1/3 to 1/2.  I could have social-distanced myself by up to 30 feet in some pews there.

Spouse reports similar numbers at the local parish with similar 'distance' flexibility.

Since we are both in the high-risk category, we both went to Mass.  Got a better idea??

The Archbishop of Milwaukee did NOT close the churches, did NOT cancel Masses by fiat--so he gets kudos here, for a change.

The Role Model for Xi Jianping

Why, just this morning, a Chinese billionaire and Member of the Party was "disappeared" for having criticized Xi Jianping, the Communist Emperor.

Here's his role-model, courtesy of Raconteur Report:  And if you want the MOST pessimistic 'conservative' blogsite on the topic of WuFlu, keep reading his blog.

Deserved: Trump to Pardon Gen. Flynn

While some defend the FISA court, conveniently forgetting that liars, snakes, slime and corruptocrats will still be "swearing out" warrants before same...........

We find a glimmer of light at the end of at least ONE tunnel!!

So now it is reported that, after destroying his life & the life of his wonderful family (and many others also), the FBI, working in conjunction with the Justice Department, has “lost” the records of General Michael Flynn. How convenient. I am strongly considering a Full Pardon!

(Twitter of President Trump)

Any minute now, the cabbage-heads will be exploding.  It will be a wonderful sight!

Stuff to Know About The China Flu

PowerLine found this page and it is a good, calm, discussion of the event.  You may want to bookmark it for future looks.

A couple of excerpts which are significant:

...We want to know the total number of cases.

However, the total number of COVID-19 cases is not known. It is unknown by us at Our World in Data, or any other research, governmental or reporting institution.

There are several reasons why the total number is not known.

Whilst for some the symptoms are very severe (see below here), for a large share of the population the symptoms are mild. In such cases people may be unaware that they are infected with COVID-19, and therefore not get seen, and diagnosed, by a doctor.1,2

The second reason that the confirmed cases are only a fraction of the total number is that many countries are struggling to test a large number of cases. Not every person that should be tested is able to....
As we know, testing in the USA was not great, but with new protocols for FDA/CDC to follow in the future, that problem should go away in the next 30-60 days.

...But in an outbreak of an infectious disease it is important to not only focus on the number of cases, but also the growth rate at which the number of cases is increasing....

...A helpful metric to measure the rate of change is to look at each country and ask: How long did it take for the number of confirmed cases to double?

...The doubling time of cases has changed and it will change in the future. It would be wrong to extrapolate current growth into the future....
In other words, some models may be flawed, just like the models of GlobalWarm/GlobalCool.

...The global average hides the differences between countries that are successfully reducing the number of confirmed cases and those that fail to achieve this...
Averages are fine in baseball, but not in this instance.

Keep scrolling on their page and you'll find country-by-country stats.  You'll also note that there ARE cases in Africa, which MAY nullify the thesis that 'warm weather' will halt spread of the China Flu.

Moving on........another site with more information.  H/T Grim

...The directive, issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, requires that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a sister agency, retest every positive coronavirus test run by a public health lab to confirm its accuracy. The result, experts say, is wasting limited resources at a time when thousands of Americans are waiting in line to get tested for COVID-19.

The duplicative effort is the latest obstacle that is slowing the federal response to COVID-19,...

That directive was issued 2/4/20.   You can read this in two ways:  either FDA wants to maintain quality control of the results OR FDA is an overweening bunch of power-mad bureaucrats.  I vote for the former....but you can go the other way.

Pelosi's "Wuhan Flu" Fix: Kill Small Business!!

Bet you didn't know this.

“(B) EMPLOYER THRESHOLD.—Section 101(4)(A)(i) shall be applied by substituting ‘1 or more employees’ for ‘50 or more employees for each working day during each of 20 or more calendar workweeks in the current or preceding calendar year’....
That's the Ticker quoting Pelosi's "Wuhan Flu" fix.  Ticker, like our Wisconsin congressmen, understands small business.

Because Pelosi's bill will kill small business, not the Wuhan Flu.

EVERY employer is liable for emergency sick leave under the FMLA of 1993 (formerly only applied to employers of 50+ persons.)

And this applies to not only the employee but anyone who is a family member of same, so if one of your family members gets sick your employer is compelled to pay as if you were working so you can care for them.  Note that this imposition has been around since 1993 for firms with 50 or more employees -- this now extends down to the first employee.

In addition your job is protected even if the employer has fewer than 25 employees (which was not formerly true) unless "business conditions" make it impossible....
Of course a Pelosi/Socialist bill can get worse!!  Glad you asked!!

...every employer is now liable for paid sick time accrual of no less than 56 hours of paid time per year. This will be massively regressive as these sorts of benefits wind up hammering lower-wage workers the hardest.

What's even worse is that during a declared public health emergency (like now) the employer is required to provide 14 days of paid sick time per person, ratably for part time employees, without prior accrual.

The offset is that small businesses (under 50 employees) can apply for reimbursement of this additional benefit....

And that's not all!!

...No certification or other documentation may be required under this Act by an employer during any public health emergency....

Because every single employee is completely 100% honest about their situation at all times and under all circumstances.

Sensenbrenner, et al, deserve gratitude for their vote.  There is a chance that The Turtle will excise these (or modify them)--or that Trump will veto.

Keep those cards and letters coming, folks.

More here.  Smell the Pubbie Fear!!

Coming to a Commune Near You!

Only half tongue-in-cheek.........

The White House has announced that magnanimous big tech firm Google has ‘voluntarily’ joined the federal government within the national state of emergency to assist comrade citizens with the effort to voluntarily ‘test’ all Americans for the coronavirus....Google is undertaking this effort as a ‘free service’ to the American public. Everything is free, including the test.

Soon you will be able to use your hand-held transponder to sign-up, register for testing, and find your local neighborhood testing (dna collection) site....Imagine the valuable database that will be assembled.  Obviously Google is doing this out of the kindness of their heart; and spending the multi-millions needed due to their inherent disposition of protecting the American public.  We can imagine the process will be deployed with an App allowing you to flow seamlessly throughout registration and collection.  All of the best comrade citizens will participate; don’t miss out....
If your name is "Winston," you'll be familiar with this.

Gen X News Shows Cancelled

Item of note:

NBC announced The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon would air its last episode until March 30 while The Late Night with Seth Meyers was halted after celebrity guests refused to show up.

As planned by all late night TV shows in the city, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert filmed without a studio audience Thursday but around 9pm CBS announced a new episode wouldn't air until at least the next 18 days....

So where will Gen X get its news?  The other comedy outfits, CNN and MSNBC??

Destroying a Priest for Citizenship? UPDATED

Oh, this gets uglier.

We posted a note on this matter yesterday; briefly, a girl has accused a Catholic priest of abuse, claiming 'touching' during Confession.  (Side-note to priests:  NEVER use the 'reconciliation room' again.)

Since the priest in question has NO "pattern of practice"--nothing similar ever happened before--we were skeptical.

Then it turns out that the "victim's" mother is an illegal--and that's not all.

The credibility of a teen’s mother who’s accusing a Pewaukee priest of inappropriately touching her daughter was called to question in the courtroom Thursday....

...“I decided to do this because I want there to be justice for my daughter, even though there is a risk with what I’m doing,” said the mother.

The mother acknowledged forging her name to try to get into the United States, only to be extradited. She also acknowledged using a different birth date and saying she was from Honduras rather than Peru, claiming her husband’s political involvement in Peru would have denied her legal entry into the U.S.

“The only way she can get around this lifetime bar to ever even be a lifetime resident or even status in this country is if she is a parent whose child is a victim of sexual assault,” said the defense....
Peru........"politics"..........like, e.g., "Shining Path", the Communist insurgency?

Just declare the mistrial and deport the lying woman and her daughter.

UPDATE:  A mistrial has been declared, but the D.A. intends to press for another trial.

Why Northern Italy?? Chinese, of Course

OK, I didn't know this.

Many Italians in Northern Italy sold their leather goods and textiles companies to China. Italy then allowed 100,000 Chinese from Wuhan/Wenzhou to move to Italy to work in these factories, with direct Wuhan flights. Result: Northern Italy is Europe’s hotspot for Wuhan Coronavirus...EU turned a blind eye to vast numbers of illegal Chinese immigrants working in Italian factories. The ‘Open Borders’ EU will of course try to keep this under wraps...
"Italian" leather, eh?  UPDATE:  It's also the textile industry in Northern Italy.  ChiComs took a big hunk of that, too, and have moved in by the 10's of thousands.

It's unfortunate, but there's the explanation.

Remember Trump's Platform?

The Last Refuge brings us a bit of Memory Lane.

From the outset of Donald Trump’s entry into the world of politics he espoused a series of key tenets around what he called his “America-First” objectives:
  1. The U.S. needed to have control over our borders, and a greater ability to control who was migrating to the United States.  A shift toward stopping ‘illegal’ migration.
  2. The U.S. needed to stop the manufacture of goods overseas and return critical manufacturing back to the United States.  A return to economic independence.
  3. The U.S. needed to decouple from an over-reliance on Chinese industrial and consumer products.  China viewed as a geopolitical and economic risk.
This program flew directly against the interests of the Clintons and Bidens--both of which were massively enriched by ChiCom manipulations and direct contributions--and those of Big Finance, which financialized productive businesses through mergers, private-equity, and LBO's, eventually driving those businesses into the arms of................yup.........Red China.  (At THIS link, there's plenty more on the topic.)

So, of course, the opposition was ferocious, and remains so.

Just so happens that Trump was right.  That's a real bitch for the Entitled Establishment, eh?

Priest Accuser's Mom an Illegal

Well, that puts a new light on this trial.

Wednesday, March 11, 2020, marked what was supposed to be the third day of a trial for a Pewaukee priest accused of inappropriately touching a teen girl during confession at Queen of Apostles Church.
There were two specific issues that were vetted out.

The first issue was two jurors who revealed to they were related and the second was the credibility of the victim’s mother following the discovery of her criminal history which ties to her immigration status in this country....
There is no "pattern of practice" in this priest's background, so I've always been skeptical of the accusations.  But add some serious domestic instability issues to the girl's situation.....well.......

Superannuated Lefty-Wacko Adelman Croaks Out Dissent

Lynn Adelman has always been an embarrassment to Wisconsin jurisprudence.

Nothing has changed except that he's way too old to be allowed to speak publicly.

Bradley Manning Tries Suicide

Apparently Bradley Manning's suicide attempt failed because he does not know anything about the Clintons.

EU Now in Ninny-Snit

The EU Commission--a proven and reliable bunch of ninnies--is now in Official Snit Mode.

The governing body of the European Union is firing back at President Trump's new ban on travel from the continent's countries.

The EU disapproves.

...“The coronavirus is a global crisis, not limited to any continent and it requires cooperation rather than unilateral action,” it said Thursday. “The European Union disapproves of the fact that the U.S. decision to impose a travel ban was taken unilaterally and without consultation.”...
Trump doesn't play "Mommy, May I?" when US vital interests are at stake.  He is not Obama; he is not Kerry, and he is not a Globaloney dork.

Democrats: "Let's Kill All the Old Folks!!"

Apparently the Democrats in Congress have something against the elderly because it sure looks like they want old folks dead.

House and Senate Democrats are responding to the coronavirus outbreak in the United States by supporting measures to effectively strip President Trump of his authority to impose travel bans to protect American citizens.

While Trump has implemented travel bans on China and Iran — two of the most coronavirus-affected nations in the world — House Democrats are looking to roll back the president’s authority to enact travel bans from regions of the world.

The “No Ban Act,” introduced by Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA) and co-sponsored by 219 House Democrats, would have prevented Trump from immediately implementing a travel ban on China once the outbreak of the coronavirus spread past its origins of Wuhan.

Instead, the No Ban Act would have allowed travelers from Wuhan to continue to arrive in the U.S. while the president received guidance from Congress....
Bizarre, moronic, anti-Trump reflex.

Abp Listecki's Strange Statement

As you might imagine, the Archbishop of Milwaukee was very quick to issue a statement on the "Catholics for Trump" initiative scheduled for Milwaukee next week.

Abp. Listecki went through all the usual stuff......'the Church is not political,........legal and theological reasons prohibit political activity.........' etc., which was fine.

But then it got a little strange.

Listecki said the church "seeks to uphold and protect justice, equality, human rights, and care for God’s creation through ethical and moral decision-making."...
Typically, a Church document's list begins with the most important item, then the second-most-important, (etc.)  Here, there is no explicit mention of 'protecting innocent life'; instead, the far more general term "human rights" is employed--third on the list.

Did the Archbishop miss the November meeting of USCC in which it was determined that the abortion question would be "pre-eminent"?

Or doesn't he really care?

Biden's Foreign Follies

Nah, this will not be about Biden's massive corruption problems, although the Chinese Communists have been extraordinarily generous to Hunter Biden when he flew there on Air Force 2 with his daddy.  Probably co-incidence, y'know.

Rather, it will highlight Biden's love of all things Communist China--which he will undoubtedly re-kindle should the voters make a horrific mistake in November.

...Biden explicitly scoffed at fears that WTO entry [1990] would bring about “the collapse of the American manufacturing economy, as China, a nation with the impact on the world economy about the size of the Netherlands, suddenly becomes our major economic competitor.”

But in light of China’s growing international belligerence particularly under Xi Jinping, it’s disturbing that the then-Senator – supposedly a foreign policy expert – was equally blind to the likelihood that a WTO-fostered “emergence of a prosperous, independent, China on the world stage” would enable China to flout “international norms in the areas of trade, security, and human rights” whenever it chose, rather than strengthen China’s loyalty to that “liberal global order.” ...
The ChiComs have openly threatened to withhold medicines and their chemical components from the US.

...in 2000, Biden made clear that he mainly supported China’s entry into the trade body – and ending the policy of granting Beijing tariff breaks only on an annual basis and only if its repressive human rights practices improved – in the belief that this new approach would both promote political and economic freedom in China and help “encourage” its “development as a productive, responsible member of the world community.”

Moreover, Biden... guzzled the kool-aid of claims that WTO entry would foster greater political as well as economic freedoms in China....
There are quite a few residents of Hong Kong and northwestern China who would argue that Biden and the rest of these bozos (the Clintons and the US Chamber of Commerce) were horrifically wrong, particularly the Uighur women who are forcibly raped by ChiCom troops while their husbands are being "re-trained" in forced-labor camps.

But hey!  Joe's a Democrat, so who cares, right??

The Wages of Globaloney

PJBuchanan is a student of geopolitical history but--having crossed the Un-Crossables--will never be used as a reference by "respectable people."  Nonetheless he persists, and here he provides a very concise history of the recent Globaloney Wars--something that Doddering Joe Sundown still promotes.

Also noteworthy:  the cultural gap which is now playing out as Europe is invaded.
The 21st-century interventions and wars of the West in the Islamic world have not gone well.

George W. Bush was goaded into invading Iraq. Barack Obama was persuaded to overthrow Colonel Moammar Gadhafi in Libya and the Assad regime in Damascus. Obama ordered U.S. forces to assist Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in his war to crush Houthi rebels who had ousted Riyadh’s resident puppet in Yemen.

And what has the West reaped from our Mideast wars?

In Syria and Yemen, we have helped to create two of the world’s greatest human rights disasters. In Libya, we have a new civil war. In Iraq, we now battle Iran for influence inside a nation we “liberated” in 2003

In Afghanistan, we have concluded a deal with our enemy of two decades, the Taliban, that will enable us to pull our 12,000 troops out of the country in 14 months and let our Afghan allies work it out, or fight it out, with the Taliban. America is washing its hands of its longest war.

In five wars over 20 years, we lost 7,000 soldiers with some 40,000 wounded. We plunged the wealth of an empire into these wars....
PJ is not too optimistic about the future of the European Powers (Germany, France, England) given their willingness to accommodate an invasion, and he indirectly touches on the Culture Problem:

...Now the peoples of the new nations, dissatisfied with what their liberated lands and rulers have produced, have decided to come to Europe to enjoy in the West what they cannot replicate at home....

They cannot replicate what they cannot understand:  the culture.

"Catholics for Trump" Inaugural in Milwaukee

Interesting news.

President Donald Trump will be in Milwaukee next week to launch the "Catholics for Trump" coalition

The event is scheduled for 4 p.m. March 19 at the Wisconsin Center.

His campaign says, "The event will bring together Catholics from across the nation who support President Trump's re-election."

The feast of St. Joseph.  "Justus et palma..........."

S'pose Abp. Listecki will be in attendance??

Hey, Joe Biden!! YOU Are Full of S**t

I get it.  Alzheimer's means you forget stuff.

So when Old Joe says he 'won't take away your guns,' it's not what he actually means.

CNN: So, to gun owners out there who say, well, a Biden administration means they’re going to come for my guns?

BIDEN: Bingo. You’re right if you have an assault weapon. The fact of the matter is, they should be illegal, period. Look, the Second Amendment doesn’t say you can’t restrict the kinds of weapons people can own. You can’t buy a bazooka. You can’t have a flame thrower.
That was November 6, 2019.  So little time, so many lies......

1 Million Test Kits Waiting for Orders

The whiny little boy-kin reporter gets lashed by HHS' Azur.

Not only are the kits in production, but there are 1 MILLION of them at the docks waiting orders from doctors and hospitals.

And no, you can't just walk in and demand a test, dumbass.

This one is fun to watch.

Northam's "Kill the Baby" IS the (D) Position

Hadley Arkes is a true pro-life legal fighter.  Here he narrates the story of the "Born Alive" bill, which was originally passed in a bi-partisan vote and signed by Bill Clinton.

But that bill had no penalties attached.  Following the Philly Butcher episode, a new version, with penalties, was created.

...With Republicans in control of the House, the new Born-Alive Act was brought to the floor in September 2015, when it passed 248-177. It was brought again in January 2018, when it passed 241-183. Every voting Republican voted for these bills, and every Democrat but five or six, voted in opposition.
And now, with the bill in the Senate, every Republican voted for it, along with three Democrats, while every vote in opposition came from Democrats, holding the line. The bill garnered 56 votes, but short of the 60 needed to overcome the Democratic filibuster.
The Democrats had arrived at the most radical position yet on the matter of abortion – so radical that the Republican managers of the bill, along with President Trump, still haven’t quite figured out how to express it.

The matter was blurted out, almost in passing, by Sen. Patty Murray from Washington. She remarked that “Republicans are peddling a ban that is blatantly unconstitutional.” That is, this move to protect children born alive is incompatible with that “right” proclaimed in Roe v. Wade. For virtually all Democrats now in Congress and national politics, that right to abortion is a right that extends beyond pregnancy itself and entails nothing less than the right to kill a child born alive....
Sadly, Trump has not made this an issue--yet--despite his other praiseworthy pro-life initiatives. Ben Sasse (a popinjay, no more than that) has not made an issue of this, either.

Who could have known that Northam's 'We can kill it later' remark is the Democrat Party position?

Moldy Oldie Joe Wants to "Take This Outside"???

The man has gone completely daft.

Yelling contradictions and non-facts at a construction worker who doesn't like Old Joe's position on guns (take them all away) Moldy Oldie Joe offers to "take this outside."

Alzheimer's is a very cruel disease.  It progresses in 'steps,' so that a victim will be operating on "X" level for a few years, then suddenly drop to 'X-10' level, and operate there for several months or a few years---then suddenly to 'X-20', and so on, until they no longer recognize family or friends.  That last state is usually accompanied by several very unpleasant but not fatal bodily malfunctions.

Old Joe dropped off one of those steps a few weeks ago, which is why his handlers will not let him give long speeches any more.

Offering to take on a far younger and far more physically fit man over a political position?

Certifiably nuts.

Yes, There IS Republican Slimy Stuff

The good thing about being a Conservative is that one can call out Republican slimy deals.

Sundance is a Conservative (and a capital-P Patriot), and he notes another slime-deal.

...Kelly Loeffler was appointed [to the US Senate] by Georgia Governor Kemp because Loeffler is married to Jeffrey Sprecher; a GOPe party insider, mega-donor, and multi-millionaire CEO of the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).  Jeffrey Sprecher is the founder and CEO of ICE, which now owns the New York Stock Exchange. Kelly Loeffler’s company, the financial platform Bakkt, is a subsidiary of the Intercontinental Exchange....
Then the Slime begins to show.

The Turtle--no stranger to shady dealings--appointed Ms. Loeffler to the Senate Ag Committee.  The Senate Ag Committee is NOT only concerned with 'making a hole, dropping in a seed, covering it up, and watering it.'  Nope.

...In recent interviews, nearly a dozen ethics experts in Washington said the entanglement of Loeffler’s public and private interests has few, if any, recent precedents in Congress.

ICE deploys lobbyists to influence federal regulatory agencies and Congress, including committees on which Loeffler now sits. Loeffler’s husband and other ICE executives often testify at congressional hearings. And, when she was ICE’s senior vice president for corporate communications, Loeffler herself publicly criticized the company’s primary regulator, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, for proposing “excess regulation” during the financial crisis of the late 2000s.

That commission answers directly to the Agriculture Committee’s commodities subcommittee, of which Loeffler is now a member.
By the way, Loeffler is pushing Nikki Haley for the 2024 (R) Presidential nomination.  Haley is another Bush-man or perhaps worse.

The Empire is not going to go quietly, nor soon.

Pour Encourager Les Autres

Trump's crackdown on illegals is entering Phase Two.

ICE agents stormed a Brooklyn restaurant and used pepper spray to nab an undocumented illegal immigrant worker after she resisted arrest, according to ICE and officials....
Last week, ICE snatched an illegal from the steps of a California courthouse for purposes of air-mailing him back to his home country.

Word of these incidents gets around.  This is an inverse application of the French phrase used as the title on this post, of course.  The idea?  To "encourage" other illegals to leave on their own terms, rather than on those selected by ICE.

Well-played, President Trump!

The Family IS a Target

Sentient and rational human beings know that the Church and the family are targeted by totalitarians.  It's no accident that the Communist Party was calling for 'free sex' from the time of Lenin, as documented by Skousen and read into the Congressional Record.

Why would they do that?

Because the demolition of the family enables and fosters totalitarian government.  Thus, The Pill and abortion are very useful, as Mary Eberstadt tells us.

...Eberstadt traces the beginnings of the identity crisis to the introduction of oral contraceptives in 1960. Along with other forms of birth control, the pill unleashed the sexual revolution that, in turn, caused “the Great Scattering: the unprecedented familial dispersion, now 60-plus years in the making with no end in sight.” Under this new sexual regime, marriages end on a whim, many fathers are absent or unknown, and childbearing—when it does occur—is often severed from marriage and even sexual intercourse.

Eberstadt aptly summarizes the consequences of this familial liquidation: the lasting trauma of children whose parents divorce, the anxiety and confusion besetting those conceived through anonymous sperm donations, the litany of adverse life outcomes associated with absentee fathers, as well as all the missed socialization opportunities for those who grow up without siblings and cousins. If statistics and studies could persuade, then the case for the traditional family would have long since been closed.

The net effect of the Great Scattering is a scourge of loneliness and emotional impoverishment that no amount of GDP growth or Silicon Valley gadgetry can offset. According to a recent survey cited by Eberstadt, nearly half of all Americans feel lonely “sometimes or always.” Generation Z, not surprisingly, is the loneliest generation of them all....
Into this malaise step the Helpers:  "social justice" warriors, Government-is-All charlatans, and Identity Politicians.

Remember Obama's "Julia"?  That was the Brave New World video; it should come as no surprise that Obama and his entire Government were totalitarian wannabees and at the very least, heavily influenced by Communist theory and training.

There are no co-incidences.   Keep that in mind as the Totalitarian class continues its attacks on both the family AND the Church.

Outsourcing Taxing Authority in Wisconsin?

Interesting little note here on a precedent which is utterly stupid.

Three weeks ago, the Wisconsin Assembly quickly and quietly passed a bill that would allow a private group to set and apply a tax on propane sales. This would set a dangerous precedent, and the measure should be stopped by the state Senate.

Assembly Bill 665, introduced by Rep. Kevin Petersen (R-Waupaca) and Sen. Jerry Petrowski (R-Marathon), allows the Wisconsin Propane Education and Research Council (WIPERC) to apply a tax on propane sales with proceeds ending up in the council’s own coffers....
Robin Vos' Assembly has been erratic as Vos' estimation of himself has grown over the last few years.  But handing off the authority to tax to some outfit--even if it's a "do-good" bunch--is utterly ridiculous.

lt shouldn't take too long for SCOWI to trash this if the Senate doesn't, but Vos' empty-headed move here signals a deep problem in his management of the Assembly and his understanding of Constitutional powers.

End of FISA? Good!

Apparently the Obama/Clinton Criminal Conspiracy's most valuable weapon will be cancelled.

Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) said on March 8 he believes Congress does not have sufficient votes for the reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) this week, and that he thinks it is a “good thing.”...
11 years too late.

First Amerndment Means Something: Trump/Barr!

It's about damn time that this happens.

Unlike Eric Holder’s Justice Department, the Trump administration is on the forefront of defending First Amendment religious liberty. This Tuesday, Justice Department Civil Rights Division lawyers will be appearing in an Indiana state court to defend the religious freedom of Catholic schools.

Assistant Attorney General Eric Dreiband's team will personally appear to defend the Archdiocese of Indianapolis against an employment discrimination lawsuit brought by a teacher who was fired for openly flouting Catholic Church teaching on marriage.

Joshua Payne-Elliott, the former teacher at Cathedral High School and plaintiff, is suing because he was terminated from his employment as a high school teacher after openly defying church teaching on marriage and living as a married couple with another man....
Holder was (and remains) Obama's bitch (see below post.)  Recall that his attacks on the 1A were rejected 9-0 by SCOTUS, meaning all four Lefty Justices couldn't stomach Holder/Obama crapola.

Our Stasi: Obama's Department of "Justice"

Eric Holder, Obama's prostitute, runs around the country attempting to elect clones (such as Wisconsin's Josh Kaul.)

That's because those State AG's and local DA's will co-operate in projects like this:

An assembly of government reports and public records now indicates a political exploitation of the NSA database, for weaponized intelligence surveillance of politicians, began mid 2012.  After an initial attempt to exploit IRS records, the legal tool used to access the NSA database was the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA....
Only a fool thinks that these totalitarians will limit their surveillance to "politicians."

A wise man stated that 'socialism is Communism not yet in power.'  Obama and Holder are merely the advance team for Biden, or Bernie, or whoever.

Not Far From the Tree: Nat'l Lawyers' Guild & Antifa

We are told that the National Lawyers' Guild is Antifa's 'hidden asset.'

...Busy alongside Antifa this year will be the movement’s unofficial legal arm: the National Lawyers Guild.

Although much lower profile than their enablers within the establishment media and among the more extreme elements of the Democratic Party, the National Lawyers Guild is actually far more important when it comes to keeping Antifa’s program of extreme political violence going.

Made up of thousands of hard-left lawyers spread out in over 150 chapters across the country (not including over 100 student chapters), and funded by giant philanthropists like the Ford Foundation and George Soros, the NLG explicitly and openly coordinates legal action and public relations in support of the Antifa movement....
That's not exactly a surprise.

...According to Discover the Networks, in the 1940s and ’50s, the group and its members defended figures such as Alger Hiss, Judith Socolov, and Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, as well as members of the Communist Hollywood 10. For these and other efforts, the House of Un-American Activities Committee labeled NLG the “legal bulwark of the Communist Party.”...
Or, as other lawyers put it, the NLG was (and still is) a Communist front organization.

Charming that the Ford Foundation throws money into it, no?

America First in the Valley of the Banned

Malkin has incurred the wrath of "Conservative, Inc." and has been summarily fired by Young America's Foundation.

So she gave a stem-winder speech to 'America First Political Action Conference,' noted by the Other McCain.

....I did not know you then, but I did stand on that stage at CPAC in 2019 calling out the feckless organizers for barring real conservatives, immigration hawks, free thinkers and various dissidents from the conference. Meanwhile, the simulators and the saboteurs and the speech squelchers and the Soros smear merchants — like that, Jared Holt [Boos.] weasel that you chased out [of CPAC] — and of course the highest bidding sponsors who were all enjoying free rein back then in the front seats, in the VIP sections, and backstage. On stage last year, I mentioned our friends, Gavin McInnes and Laura Loomer and others who had been banned from darkening the CPAC door. But of course in a larger sense, I was talking about all of you here now and so many others who’ve been forgotten in the past. Who’ve been relegated to our motley Valley of the Banned in one way or another, either by CPAC or ConInc....
Anyone who invokes Phyllis Schlafly as a patron saint deserves recognition.  And anyone who is in 'the Valley of the Banned' with the likes of Milo, Gaffney, and Derbyshire is worth re-reading. Similarly, anyone who vilifies the execrable anti-Catholic Ben Shapiro, or the slimy little Libertarian open-borders advocate Chuckles Kirk (beloved of Mark Levin) deserves a long, thoughtful, listen.

By the way, her introduction to her 'formal' speech is a wonderful amalgamation of English Poetry.

Fraud Perp Slanders SCOTUS Justices

Some noisy Communist-Muslima who committed immigration fraud to get her brother into the US is now slandering SCOTUS justices.

Still waiting for a deportation order on her.  Then let's deal with the rapist-in-office in Virginia.  And the criminal computer-user in Chappaqua.  And then.........(long list to follow).......

Another Conservative Awakening

Z-Man pointed to this interview in NRO (!!).  Here's an outfit which takes Leo XIII seriously, without mentioning him.

...The goal of American Compass is to restore an economic consensus that emphasizes the importance of families, communities, and industry for the nation’s liberty and prosperity. It’s about returning to an older sense of what economics is for and the types of economic policies that conservatives should use to support the ends that they believe in. We look out at the conservative public-policy ecosystem and see a lot of redundancy. Nearly all the think tanks on the right that deal with economic policy are either explicitly fusionist institutions, such as the Heritage Foundation, or explicitly libertarian. It’s very difficult to find a public-policy institution that promotes a distinctly conservative approach to economics. That’s the gap we hope to fill by articulating a vision for conservative economic policy that is distinct from libertarianism, but also distinct from the left’s. Our approach acknowledges the role of traditional social institutions, including the family, the Church, and voluntary associations....
PJBuchanan's vision re-born!

How long will it take for some grifter to sieze this outfit and use it to promote, say, Paul Singer or some massive invasion of "IT gurus" from India?

Sliver-of-Silver Lining on COVID19

Yes, there is a tiny bit of silver lining to this COVID-19 thing.

The "Sign (Handshake/Hug/Kiss/Slobber/Whatever) of Peace" is GONE!!

Praise the Lord!!

Goose, Gander, Sauce!

This could be a lot of fun!

Erik Prince, the security contractor with close ties to the Trump administration, has in recent years helped recruit former American and British spies for secretive intelligence-gathering operations that included infiltrating Democratic congressional campaigns, labor organizations and other groups considered hostile to the Trump agenda, according to interviews and documents.

Prince is Betsy DeVos' brother and used to run Blackwater Security.  These ops are also connected to Project Veritas.

Note well:  unlike Obama's spying on Trump and millions of other American citizens, this does not include active FBI personnel.  The Director of the FBI is not lying to targets about being targets; the CIA is not supplying assets, and nobody is lying like Hell to the FISA court (dummies that they are) about "national security".

Heh.

Goose, meet gander.  Enjoy the sauce!

Made in China Hotel Collapses

At one time, "Made in China" was a warning, not a recommendation.

Has anything changed??

Around 70 people were trapped after a hotel collapsed in China's eastern Fujian province on Saturday evening.

Xinjia Hotel in Quanzhou City collapsed around 7.30 pm (11:30 GMT) and at least 23 people had been rescued by 9pm, according to a local government statement.

The 80-room hotel was recently converted to a quarantine facility for people who had recent contact with coronavirus patients, the People's Daily state newspaper reported. ...
But the labor was cheap, there are no OSHA/EPA/SocSec/Fair Labor Standards problems!!

That's why Briggs & Stratton is there, no?

Evers Can't Explain Maggie Gau's Veto

When Maggie Gau ordered Tony Evers to veto a bill, and Evers was asked about it, he could not explain why "he" vetoed it.

Odd, since only three days ago Evers Gau issued a statement on the matter.

Maybe somebody should just hologram Evers' image onto Gau, eh?

Steele Won't Talk? Cancel His Visa

Reported by the Examiner:

British ex-spy Christopher Steele declined to give an interview with U.S. Attorney John Durham's review of the Russia investigation.

Representatives for Steele, whose unverified dossier was used by the FBI to obtain warrants to wiretap a member of President Trump's 2016 campaign, were recently approached by members of the federal prosecutor's team and they said the former MI6 agent would not cooperate with the inquiry...
OK, then.  Cancel his visa to come to the US.

Or let the bloody slimeball in-----and then arrest him.  I'm sure he will jaywalk or park illegally.

The Blood-Soaked Mueller-Comey Incompetency

The Inspector General of the FEEBS issued another report.  It's overwhelmingly clear that Robert Mueller (Mr. "honest", Mr. "integrity") and his hand-picked and personally-trained successor, James Comey, were just political hacks.

Not only that, their incompetence and political brown-nosing got Americans killed.

“[Inspector General] report finds HVEs (Homegrown Violent Extremists) carried out 20+ attacks (since 9/11) in US, ‘some of which occurred after the FBI closed a counterterrorism investigation..FBI has not taken sufficient action to address weaknesses,” CBS News’ Catherine Herridge reported Wednesday....

...Herridge added: “New IG report ‘…we found at least six attacks committed in the United States by individuals who the FBI had previously assessed or investigated…’ including 2009 Fort Hood, 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, 2016 Pulse Nightclub.”...--Herridge/CBS via Daily Wire
Comey will blame it on his subordinates, and Mueller will use the Hillary/Alzheimer's defense.

Kettle Moraine Referendum Flim-Flam

The Kettle Moraine school district is having a Big Spending referendum.  (That's the "no gun t-shirt" district, by the way.)  There is VERY good reason to vote "no," as you'll see.

They play all the usual games...

Cuts would also be required for the 2021-22 school year. They include:
  • eliminating all financial support for athletics and co-curricular activities
  • eliminating all art, music and physical education by certified staff at the elementary school level
  • eliminating world language at the middle school level
  • reducing health insurance benefits for all staff
  • eliminating all instructional coaches and instructional interventionists
  • eliminating community use of indoor facilities
The District has reduced some of its costs already, yadayada.

OK, then, what's the problem??  After all, it's only 15 cents/$1K valuation, right?

The cost of housing in the district is not comparable with neighboring communities, and affordable housing for families with young children is difficult to find, the district says on its website.
IOW, in 5-10 years or so, they will be closing a school building or two (or more).  Is this really the time to give them another $19 MILLION?

We report, you decide.

One last thing:  the article states that the health insurance policy for District employees has a $5,000.00 family deductible.  Really?  Did the most powerful Union in the State agree to THAT large a deductible--without some sort of offset?  Inquiring minds, and all that.

"Honorable", "Honest" Mueller? Nope. Slimebucket.

Given that Robert Mueller trained James Comey, it should not be a surprise to find that Mueller is just as slimy a cockroach as anyone else in the FBI (or DOJ, for that matter.)

...new documents have been released which show exactly what happened at that meeting and it matches essentially none of the previous, mainstream media pushed narratives. Worse, it paints a picture of Robert Mueller and his team using the flow of information to hurt Trump, even as they claimed to be hunting for the truth....

About three days into Mueller's gravy-train job, he knew the "collusion" thing was crap.

But he defrauded $~40 million from taxpayers, pretending that there was something there.  A bunch of his lawyer-pals needed some money, and he got it for them.

Now he pretends to have Alzheimer's--a trick he learned from Hillary.

Follow the Money to Romney's Pals

Sure, Romney is a slimebucket.  But his advisers are probably worse, because Burisma.

So Romney wants to kill RoJo's investigation of Burisma.  He says "appearances."  We say "money-trail."

Solution:  remove Romney from RoJo's committee.  Today would be fine.

Anxiety Relief? Try Adultery!

This has to be one of the best lines of the decade.

Former President Bill Clinton says his high-profile affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky was one of the things during his presidency that he did to “manage my anxieties,”...Breitbart quoting the Daily Mail
Well, adultery is a less-than-lethal method of 'managing anxiety,' which distinguishes it from Hillary's method.

Right?

In Chicago US Citizens Are Second-Class

You've read the story.  The City of Chicago is a "sanctuary" city, so when a criminal (and) illegal alien was released from jail, Chicago did not co-operate with ICE to remove him from the USA.

Instead, Chicago authorities simply released him.

So he raped a three-year-old girl.

Does Chicago say "Sorry, we screwed up!"

HELL, no!

[ICE officials are] critical because we have said very clearly we are a welcoming city, a sanctuary city. Chicago Police Department will not cooperate with ICE on any immigration-related business. And that’s affected their ability to conduct immigration raids across the city. But that’s exactly our intention. We have to make sure our police department is seen as a legitimate force in all our communities --Chicago Mayor
Nice sleight-of-hand there.  Did you see it?

The Mayor-ette of Chicago just placed US citizens in second-class status vis-a-vis illegal alien criminals by reversing right-order priorities.  Under her policy, criminal illegal aliens get protection from the authorities, but US citizens do NOT get protection from the criminal illegal aliens.

This is why Donald J Trump will be re-elected.

Bloodsuckers Claim "The Law" Is On Their Side

As usual, the bloodsucking class wants "the law" to be "enforced."

That way, you can ruin your small engines, keep the price of basic foodstuffs high (so that 3rd-world people can starve).......but most important, feed the bloodsuckers.

Wisconsin corn growers and ethanol producers are looking to the EPA to “follow the law” on small refinery exemptions and make up for lost gallons. But the longer they wait for the EPA’s review and decision on the exemptions, the more the industry hurts....

Ethanol is merely a different kind of pollutant, and shoving corn into your fuel has always been stupid.

The Stink of Limburger

Hah!  You thought I was talking about cheese!!

Wrong.

Today, Bishop Georg Bätzing of the Diocese of Limburg was elected the new president of the German bishops’ conference. In his first interview after his election, he touched upon the question of the Church’s teaching on sexual intercourse before marriage and on homosexuality. Asked whether he sees some leeway concerning these two topics, he says: “there is leeway and there are openings in the doctrine.” “Something has to change” also “with regard to how we deal with homosexuals and their way of life,” he adds....
Not hard to discern that the Church's Deep State is also disconnected from the laity, is it?

FBI Promoting Lies. Who'Da'Thunk??

This whole college-admissions story is stupid.  That said, we find the FBI engaged in more slimy tactics.  Surprised??

Lori Loughlin is armed with new evidence which could prove crucial in exonerating her and her husband Mossimo Giannulli in the college admissions scandal.

The couple claims to have proof that the mastermind behind the sprawling scheme, Rick Singer, was told by FBI agents to lie about whether parents knew they were paying bribes, rather than legitimate donations. ...
When is the FBI going to be disbanded?

Half the Story on UW-M Cuts

Sometimes you wonder if these "reporters" actually read their "news"papers in the past.

Like 7 years ago.

UW-M will be cutting back its staff, using buyouts.  Enrollment is going down.  So they find some teachers' union dude to 'inform' them on the problem.

...An added pressure on UW System schools is an in-state tuition freeze that started in 2013. It locked in rates for Wisconsin residents without simultaneously increasing the amount of support coming from the state's taxpayers....
The UW System had stashed $640++million in the cookie jar by 2013--a fact the union guy forgot to mention--and that the "reporter" didn't bother to go find.  THAT is the reason for the tuition freeze.  You cheat, you pay.

Oh, well.  In the next few years, the UW system will be forced to close at least one campus.  Wait till you hear the screeching from the union twits then!

The Deep State and Obama's Crowd vs. Phil Haney

In a medium-length essay, Corey's Digs goes over what Phil Haney had discovered, and she names names, from the "Arizona Mafia"--which included Janet Napolitano--through the Obama-Muslim connections.

Oh yes, there were connections between Hezbollah, the Mexican drug kingpins, the Mexican Government, and John McCain (!), and none of them are pretty.

As to Phil Haney?  Well, the Obama people and the State Department (not to mention the perjurer-in-charge of National Intel James Clapper) wanted him out, period, and they wanted the records he accumulated purged.  They got their way; the first "purge" deleted 800+ names.

...Following what Haney described as the “first great purge,” of records in November of 2009, Haney explained, “That wasn’t even enough.  The next step that they took was they went after the individuals who put that information in the system in the first place, and they knocked us off one by one…I was among the first…but I also, by God’s grace, was the one that survived the longest.  I saw it all.”

During the remaining years of his service for the DHS, Philip Haney was subjected to nine separate investigations designed to intimidate, silence, and ultimately remove him from his position.  In one instance, Philip Haney was falsely accused of leaking information regarding a Saudi person of interest who was injured in the Boston Marathon bombing, which led to the convening of a grand jury investigation against him.  Haney was found innocent.  Meanwhile, lawmakers grilled Janet Napolitano for the intelligence failures in sharing information between agencies that led to the Boston Bombing attack, to which Napolitano admitted that the 2012 return of the Boston bomber, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, to the United States, was not flagged, stating, “The system pinged when he was leaving the United States. By the time he returned all investigations had been closed.”  Despite their best efforts to discredit him, Philip Haney persevered through it all, and was exonerated in each of the investigations.

In the final year of his service for the DHS, amidst the trials of yet another investigation, Philip Haney was stripped of his gun and isolated from his colleagues in the department.  Despite the level of disrespect he received from this department from which he served honorably for so many years, Haney did not view this time in solitude as a loss. Instead, he used the period as a sabbatical.  In the remainder of his stint with the department, Haney gathered, organized and archived notes and documents that he had meticulously kept over the years. ...

Still wondering why Haney was shot dead?  Still wondering why the Deep State and the Obama people want Trump out of office?

Another Bush Goes Down in Flames

Noted by Althouse.

Troy Nehls and Kathaleen Wall, staunch defenders of President Donald Trump, advanced instead to the runoff.... Although Pierce Bush, 34, made clear from the outset of his run in December that he was an ally of Trump, he didn't do so with zeal of rivals who promised fierce loyalty to the president if elected.  --Althouse quoting CBS
Apparently the first Bush fam member to lose a race in Texas, ever.

The sins of the fathers were visited upon this kid.  Oh, well.

Has Schumer Gone Mad?

This is disturbing.  One expects Dumb from Schumer, but threats??

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) threatened two conservative Supreme Court justices as he spoke at a pro-choice rally in front of the Supreme Court Wednesday...“I want to tell you Gorsuch! And I want to tell you Kavanaugh! You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price! You won’t know what hit you! If you go forward with these awful decisions…”...
SCOTUS accepted a case from the 5th Circuit, which affirmed a Louisiana law requiring that babykilling be conducted within 30 miles of a hospital.

Regardless of Chuckie's enthusiasm for babykilling, his language here is extreme.  Is he calling for assassination squads?  Snipers?  Attacks on the families of Gorsuch and Kavanaugh?

That would be "releasing the whirlwind," Chuckie.  Be careful.

All Your IT Belong to Us: S.386 Returns

No surprise here:  Sen Mike Lee (R-New Delhi) will re-introduce S.386.

Have a friend or relative in I.T.?  Know a kid who spent $60K or so obtaining a Computer Science degree?

They'll need welfare payments if Mike Lee (R-New Delhi) gets his way.

...Many Americans have lost...jobs, professional status, much money, homes, and even marriages as the Indian workers spread out through the U.S. technology market. The earlier waves of Indian workers are now managers and recruiters and are using their jobs to block Americans from even getting interviewed for new jobs. This massive loss by a generation of American technology graduates has largely been ignored by the established media, even though it has been accompanied by mass underemployment of tech-experts and by a massive decline in U.S. technological ambition and innovation....
And yes, the college "credentials" of Indian IT or CompSci people are usually overblown, or the "software knowledge requirements" for particular jobs are bull-plop, designed so that only Indian workers get the job.

It's great that Mike Lee (R-New Delhi) wants Utah to become the next Silicon Valley.

But Utah's narrow little interests should not take precedence over the interests of US-native IT professionals in the other 49 States.

HRC's Gift to Criminals

Jarrett makes the very same prediction that I did.

Good luck deposing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. She’s as slippery as an eel and twice as devious. She’ll figure out a way to circumvent the truth. It’s her greatest skill set....

...There will be no softballs lobbed at Clinton when she is deposed by lawyers for Judicial Watch. But if past is prologue, she will be a shifty and amnesic witness. Beyond remembering her name and date of birth, Clinton will feign total memory loss akin to acute dementia.

In between these excerpts is a scathing indictment of the guilty-as-Hell Bitch from Illinois, by the way.  If you need the blow-by-blow, read the essay.

Anyhow.

Clinton will show the way for lots of criminals with her "I forget" routine.  She practiced it during Bill's Predatorcy Presidency, remember??

Another Form of War?

Vox has a thesis.

Immigration has always been war. Whether it was the Mongols migrating to India, the Germans migrating to Italy, the Goths migrating to Byzantium, the Normans migrating to England, the Europeans migrating to the Americas, the Japanese migrating to China, the Germans migrating to Eastern Europe, or the Jews migrating to Canaan, the result has always been military occupation, followed by the large-scale slaughter and suppression of the native population.
Hmmmm.

And there is a corollary:

And because immigration is war, open borders is surrender.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm, again.

Is the "Climate Crisis" All GUESSWORK??

It would appear that NOAA has no real use for actual temperatures.

Over the past 30 years, NOAA has been rapidly losing US thermometers. In 1989, 1,205 stations reported some daily temperatures, but last year only 871 stations reported some daily temperatures.

Thirty-five percent (424) of the stations in 2019 were zombie stations, meaning that NOAA estimated data for all twelve months. This is done even for some of the thermometers which reported at least a little data in 2019....

Fits in with the general mode these days........after all, having a male member doesn't mean that you're a male any more, either.

Maybe this IS the end of civilization.

Sykes Thinks We're "the Crazies"

About 200 people showed up for a Never Trump gabfest last weekend.

Charlie Sykes, who described himself as "a Conservative" only 10 years ago, now has a description for those of us who value national borders, American labor and products, no Permanent Wars in s***hole countries, and a culture which excludes abortion:

After a solemn sermon by Evan McMullin about principles and values and respect for others, Charlie Sykes wonders aloud how the “crazies” have taken over conservatives. Now introducing Kristol, Charen, and Ponnuru as “thought leaders.”
Far be it from me to call Charlie a liar for his 10-year-old claims........but.......... well......maybe he fell on his head or something.

Deep State to Fund Self-Elections: Biden

Among other wacko-crazy plans, Jurassic Joe emits a "plan" to Make the Deep State Permanent!

Former Vice President Joe Biden wants to amend the U.S. Constitution to prohibit private individuals from using their own money to make a contribution to a federal election campaign or to fund their own federal campaign, according to a plan posted on Biden's campaign website....
The amendment, as Biden describes it, would give the government the sole power to fund federal campaigns.

"Introduce a constitutional amendment to entirely eliminate private dollars from our federal elections,” says Biden’s plan....
Oh, goodie!!  Have the Gummint--which is composed of highly ethical and totally un-biased individuals--spend taxpayer money on campaigns.  Fairly, of course.  No holds barred, of course.

IOW, have the Deep State fund its own campaigns.

Karofsky Goes Nuts

This is what the poor woman said.

People in Wisconsin “feel” like the Wisconsin Supreme Court is “corrupt,” Dane County Judge Jill Karofsky said.

Karofsky, the liberal candidate challenging conservative Justice Daniel Kelly, appeared Sunday on the “UpFront” program, produced in partnership with WisPolitics.com.

“People in Wisconsin feel like it’s corrupt................
Well, the "corruption card" hasn't worked too well anywhere else, largely because "corruption" is a property of the Deep State.

But go ahead.  Feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelz your way along, Jill.  That's a legal evidentiary thing in Madison, I guess.

Rhinelander's Really Dumb Bathroom Move

Ah, yes......the Utopian Dream.......gender-neutral bathrooms.......

Meets reality................

A Wisconsin high school has closed its gender-neutral bathroom after an 18-year-old student was arrested for fourth-degree sexual assault, child enticement and exposing his genitals to a child inside the facility.

Austin Sauer, a student at Rhinelander High School, was arrested last week, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, WSAW-TV reported.........
...........and an ugly reality it is, no?

Somehow or other this didn't make the Milwaukee press.

Lindsey's Politics of the '90's

You remember the politics of the 1990's, right?  Promise them anything, collect your salary, benefits, pension and stock tips, get rich, rinse/repeat.

Paul Ryan was good at that; he was going to permanently repair Social Security!!  But he forgot about that when Chair/Finance, Chair/Budget, and Speaker.  Ryan's only one example; there are hundreds of others.

Lindsey Graham is still in the 1990's, too.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has still done nothing to get to the bottom of the FISA abuse scandal, despite his many promises....

...The South Carolina senator promised as the new Judiciary Chair to “give a deep dive” on the FISA problem. He thought Rod might be part of his deep dive.
He’s still on the diving board looking down....
It's about time that Fox News ignores Lindsey's bleating.  Don't give him any more air-time until Lindsey-Oats delivers.

Bloomberg Admires the Chinese Commies--for This??

Mini-Mike (Maxi-Ad) Bloomberg admires the Chinese Communists.

Thousands of Muslims from China's Uighur minority group are working under coercive conditions at factories that supply some of the world's biggest brands, a new report says.

The Australian Strategic Policy Institute said this was the next phase in China's re-education of Uighurs.

China has already detained about a million Uighurs at internment camps, punishing and indoctrinating them.

In plain English, this is "FORCED LABOR."

...Between 2017 and 2019, the ASPI think tank estimates that more than 80,000 Uighurs were transferred out of the far western Xinjiang autonomous region to work in factories across China. It said some were sent directly from detention camps.

ASPI said the Uighurs were moved through labour transfer schemes operating under a central government policy known as Xinjiang Aid.

The report said it was "extremely difficult" for Uighurs to refuse or escape the work assignments, with the threat of "arbitrary detention" hanging over them....

Meanwhile, ChiCom soldiers were raping Uighur wives.

These are the people MiniMike admires.

Do MiniMike's supporters know about this?

Solutions!!

We bring solutions, not problems.  Of course, we stole this from AOSHQ, but......

Dying From Kung Flu?? Not Likely

Nice summation of COVID-19's effects to date.

...Though the new virus is more transmissible than the related viruses SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV, which, respectively, caused the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) in 2002–2003 and 2012, the disease it causes is less dangerous. SARS had a case-fatality rate of 10 percent and MERS a case-fatality rate of 36 percent. The most recently reported case-fatality rate for laboratory-confirmed COVID-19, for hospitalized inpatients in China, was 1.4 percent; and since many more unreported, mild, or asymptomatic cases exist than the number of reported cases involving more severely ill or hospitalized patients, the fatality rate is likely much lower—perhaps as low as the 0.1–0.2 percent fatality rate of seasonal influenza. And unlike influenza, which has killed more than 125 children in the U.S. so far this season, COVID-19 appears to spare the pediatric population....
At least so far, there is no "there" there.

But not to worry!!  The MSM has click-bait--thus REVENUES--and is not about to let go.

"Catholic" Speaker, Democrat Voter

Maybe your parish will engage this lady's assistance.

...Katie has been traveling around North America speaking to audiences of all ages on everything from the Eucharist, pursuing a relationship with Jesus, models and methods of evangelization, ice cream flavors, and the best shows to watch on Netflix. Audiences are often challenged and excited by her talks because her presentation style is filled with humor, substantive teachings, engaging stories, and a message of encouragement as people set out to meet and fall in love with Christ and the Church....
She recently appeared in SE Wisconsin.

So?

She says--proudly--that she is a Democrat voter AND she is pro-life.

Sorry, Ms. P:  you cannot be both, unless you can name the (D) Presidential candidate who is ALSO pro-life--or the (D) Member of Congress who is pro-life for whom you voted.........

Go ahead.  We'll wait.  See, Katie, you can call yourself a purple elephant, too.  Doesn't work.

The only pro-lifer running for President is Donald Trump, Ms. P.  Get over it.

Dear Reader, you should ask "Why does Katie Prejean tell us she's a Democrat?  After all, her business is teaching and preaching the Word, right?   So if she does that faithfully, who cares?

Good question.

The answer?

Well, there's Bp. Seitz, and Abp. Gregory, and Cdl. Cupich, and Bp. Tobin (NJ).....and that's just for starters.  There's the entire USCCB staff.........and thousands of Jesuits........and even more thousands of Susans from the Parish Council.........all of which influence Catholic 'educational' spending.

Do I have to tell you the rest?

Markets--How Bad, Really??

Ticker has a reminder of Markets Past.

In 2008/09 the market went from SPX 1576 to SPX 666.  That's a roughly 60% loss.

And we have Market Present:

This last week was a grand total of.... about 10%.
Mr. Market may have been overpriced in the first place..........but panic works better!
