Good reporting here by Channel 12's Kendall Keys. Too bad the headline is foo-foo dust, eh?
The cop-killer purchased a rifle. He passed an FBI background check to do it.
Here's the key portion of the story:
..."Is it less regulated to buy something online?" WISN 12 News reporter Kendall Keys asked.
"It's not, because it still requires the same background check," Silas said. "It goes from one Federal Firearms License dealer to another Federal Firearms License dealer that runs the background check for that individual that purchased a firearm."
Jones, with two dismissed misdemeanor crimes on his record, cleared the background check....
Oh.
So the Milwaukee County DA's office is responsible for the cop-kill?
Just asking questions. Kendall Keys should ask the same one.
