Having just listened to Generalissimo Van Orden* (cocktails, then pick on the kids) tell Weber that Gaetz was wrong, wrong, wrong....
We retreated to the sanity at Ace of Spades.
...So Matt Gaetz is an asshole. Matt Gaetz is a traitor. Matt Gaetz is an egomaniac. Matt Gaetz screwed up the slim majority, and on and on and on.
No GOP. YOU bastards did that. And you've been doing it since forever. You can bitch and moan all day long about Democrats but it's not what they did but what you collectively did not do that got us Trump, and now Gaetz. Will the latter lead to anything substantive? Doubtful, yet it is a moral victory.
But I am sick to fucking death of moral victories....
It may be another year or two for the Republican Party to figure out what--if any--mission they actually have. Van Orden is a war-war-war guy, but his constituents? Not so much. Until recently, the same was true of Fitzgerald.
Oh, well. We note that the most diabolic snake in the country is suing Wisconsin over its requirement that someone must witness and affirm the signature of an absentee voter. So all this folderol in the House may be totes irrelevant.
But if irrelevancy is the case, then the alternative to ballots may have to emerge.
*By the way, Van Orden's unqualified and loving support of sending BILLIONS to Ukraine is a direct contradiction to his "have a plan" yammering this morning. Does Generalissimo Van Orden know what Bai-Den's plan is vis-a-vis Ukraine? Has Bai-Den defined "victory"? Has Bai-Den shared with Generalissimo Van Orden what the plan A, B, and C are?
Van Orden knows that there is no plan. Regardless, he'll send US taxpayer money because.........because!
