The Democrat Socialist bunch has its own favorite money-receptacles. You just don't know who they are, yet. And the DSA's priorities are totally screwed up (surprised????)
A day after Wisconsin regulators approved a sixth rate hike in six years for We Energies customers, the Milwaukee Common Council voted unanimously to pay for a study about taking over the utility....
... The Milwaukee Common Council voted unanimously 15 to 0 on Friday, Nov. 6 to allow borrowing for up to $1.35 million for a feasibility study about taking over We Energies....
This is the result of typical hair-on-fire rhetoric totally devoid of reason and logic. IOW, it's a DSA thaaang.
A couple of rational points here:
1) Conway, of WE, knows the history of such ideas.
..."In every single situation is these cities, they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars. In this case, the City of Milwaukee is looking to spend about $1.3 million to study if they should take over their local utility," Conway said. "And in the end, they're going to find that it's going to probably cost billions and billions of dollars. And then when they go to voters, voters are likely going to reject it." ...
IOW, that $1.3 million of BORROWED money will land in someone's pocket, and they will tell the DSA exactly what the DSA wants to hear. But the people who have to pay that bill? They will not be enthused.
2) Further, and more important: WE has a lot of customers who do not live in the DSA hell-hole of Milwaukee. One way or another, they too will have a vote.
So we repeat: who are the DSA's favorite money-suckers? You'll know soon!
By the way: if the City is going to borrow $1.3 million, why not spend it on FIRE TRUCKS???
