"Wow!" Car Stuff: Who Needs It??

This is merely the latest problem.

Ford Motor Co. is recalling nearly 200,000 electric Mustangs because the door latches could falter, potentially trapping passengers in the back seat....

... the electronic door latches may remain locked after a driver or front seat passenger exits the vehicle and shuts the door, potentially trapping a child or other passenger who is unable to use the interior door releases....

Another great example of Too Much Bulls**t "Wow!" crapola in cars.

The Safety Nazis insisted that cars lock their passengers inside when the car is taken out of "Park."  The Safety Nazis pushed doodads which prevent a lane-change without using a turn signal.  The Safety Nazis' "enhancements" include seat belts.  Ever try to quick-disconnect a seat belt under stress following an accident?  You probably couldn't, because the Safety Nazis' airbags knocked the wind out of you AND made the receptor/release button almost impossible to find and operate.

The Safety Nazis are on Version 6 of Kiddie Car Seats.  In this version, you need the strength of a gorilla to belt the GD seat into the car--and the seats are so wide that you cannot put more than 5 children into an 8-passenger SUV.   Oh--by the way--those "safety" seats will drain your bank account to buy them.

Yes, there are risks in driving.  "Other drivers" constitute the majority of those risks, and in metro areas, those "other drivers" are not licensed and are reckless in the extreme.  Let's take care of those problems with on-the-spot executions or maimings so they never drive again.

Then let's push all the Safety Nazis out of the car biz.

The Gotch has a 2007 SAAB 9-7X 5.3i which he LUVs. While not particularly sting with fuel, it's built like a brick $#!t-house; nothing quite like Swedish Steel, am I right?

Anywho, the lovely and long suffering Mrs. Gotch has a 2025 VOLVO XC-90, which seems to want to do everything for you by leaving the driving up to...welp...them.

Not a fan!
