It Was NOT Only Russia....

Finally, something which makes sense in the "Who Started This?" question.

...Stephen Kinzer tells this long-hidden story. Beginning in the refugee camps of postwar Europe, where CIA officers recruited their first Ukrainian agents, it follows generations of rebels, exiles, traitors, and covert operatives through decades of clandestine missions. Although nearly all of the guerrilla warriors that the CIA sent into Ukraine were captured or killed, it never gave up. From the late 1940s through the end of the Cold War, American leaders saw Ukrainians as their most effective weapon against Moscow. They continued to press that strategy after Ukraine’s independence and the eastward expansion of the US-dominated NATO alliance. ...

I always thought it was a bit odd that my college Russian professor was Ukrainian with very good, almost un-accented, English.  Not strange enough to ask a lot of questions, but not the norm.

Maybe his history was far more exciting than being a bi-(tri-?)-lingual scholar, eh?

"Buck Throckmorton" Nods. Odd....

Throckmorton is generally reliable.  Perhaps this error is an accident.

Although the inflation-adjusted price of gasoline in America is virtually unchanged over the past two decades, it is higher than where it was before the flow of Iranian oil was cut off to global markets. Also contributing to the problem of elevated fuel prices is the lack of refining capacity in the United States. This is especially true regarding diesel.

Actually, the US is the world's LARGEST exporter of diesel.  This is a sign that the US' diesel supplies are just fine, thankyouverymuch.

GKC On "Connected Appliances"

"Hook it up to the internet," they said.  "It will make life easy!!", they said.

The freezer cyberattacks we saw last month how freezers in France, as well as in some U.S. military base dining facilities were hacked, resulting in food spoilage. Now, the same thing has happened in Europe, in Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg and Estonia. The hackers didn't just turn the freezers off; they turned them up, making the freezers into ovens, with the result being a great deal of food spoiled....

Whoops!  Maybe that "Hook every. damn. thing. to the 'net!" is not a good idea.

You see, The Moderns have forgotten GKChesterton's maxim:

...There exists in such a case a certain institution or law; let us say, for the sake of simplicity, a fence or gate erected across a road. The more modern type of reformer goes gaily up to it and says, “I don’t see the use of this; let us clear it away.” To which the more intelligent type of reformer will do well to answer: “If you don’t see the use of it, I certainly won’t let you clear it away. Go away and think. Then, when you can come back and tell me that you do see the use of it, I may allow you to destroy it.” ...

In the instant case, The Moderns chose not to put up a fence in the first damn place.

These are the same people who demanded that you take The Vaxx.

The outcome(s) were predictable.

Globalists Continue Their Revolt in Poland. Next? USA

The European Union is a One-World-Government outfit, advised by the US CIA, financed by imposing taxes on its members, and bent on imposing its Leftist will on all its members.

Thus, the Revolt in Poland.

...Poland’s pro-EU Prime Minister reportedly attempted a judicial coup by suspending the top justice of the Constitutional Tribunal, while the president was 35,000 ft in the air over Spain. A former Prime Minister warns of a civil war risk.

The EU is silent because Prime Minister Donald Tusk appears to be forcing their will on the Polish people....

"Forcing" is the word.  A convoy of German police cars invaded Poland just as the coup took place; apparently the Polish police forces and military are NOT co-operating with the Prime Minister's plot.  That's how the President of Poland managed to return to the country AND get in to the Polish Supreme Court to stop the coup--so far.

This follows a number of other, similar, events across Eastern European members of the EU.  The Prime Minister of Slovenia lists recent examples of EU interference with popularly-elected governments and/or conservative politicians:

  • To annul presidential elections (Romania);
  • To abolish an informational program on the national RTV (Hungary);
  • To send police to the Constitutional Court (Poland);
  • Three weeks before the elections to send the leader of the polling party to prison (Slovenia);
  • To occupy the national RTV with police and replace the management (Poland);
  • To terminate the mandate of the national RTV leadership and carry out a purge of employees (Slovenia);
  • To send members of the previous government to prison without the possibility of defense (Hungary);
  • To grant nearly a million citizenships to illegal migrants through an expedited process (Spain);
  • To shut down a new Nuclear Power Plant and build a gas pipeline to Russia (Germany);
  • To tax carbon energy sources while simultaneously closing NPPs and relocating industry to countries with low environmental standards under the pretense that this is how we save the planet. An EU has emerged that must save itself from itself.”
  • Following his election victory (?), Brazil's Communist Lula attempted to imprison his opponent, who managed to flee the country despite revocation of his passport.  That's not an EU thing, but if you think it's not related, you are living in a very dark closet, indeed.

It is NOT coincidence that Sen. 'Seditious' Slotkin was in Europe a couple of weeks ago and emerged from there bragging about 'the playbook'.  It's the same script now in play in the US, mutatis mutandis, where elections will be questioned, riots will be fomented, and the Left--supported by the Stupid Stooge brigades--will attempt its takeover in the US.

You would be prudent to be watching your six intensely in the 10-14 days following the election.

Rembert Weakland Knew His Saul Alinsky...

During the height of the priest-predators scandal here in Milwaukee, Rembert Weakland employed a Saul Alinsky-written tactic.

..."DARVO (an acronym for "Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender") is a reaction that perpetrators of wrongdoing, such as abusers or sexual offenders, may display in response to being held accountable for their behavior. Research indicates that it is a common manipulation strategy of psychological abusers.

DARVO is a tactic used by a perpetrator to avoid accountability for their actions. As the acronym suggests, DARVO commonly involves these steps:

    1. The perpetrator denies the harm or abuse ever took place.

    2. When confronted with evidence, the perpetrator then attacks the person that they had harmed, or are still harming. The attacker may also attack the victim's family or friends.

    3. Finally, the perpetrator claims that they were or are actually the victim in the situation, thus reversing the positions of victim and offender. It often involves not just playing the victim but also victim blaming."...Wiki, quoted at RedState

Precisely what Weakland tried to pull off when he stated that the raped boy 'tempted' the priest-rapist.

Shouldn't surprise you or me that Weakland was a devoted disciple of Alinsky, should it?  But Catholic Bishops are not supposed to employ Alinsky-ite tactics, are they?

    PBS' Lips Are Moving...

...and you know what THAT means, no?

PBS has a new report out today explaining how it will be completely ‘normal’ if we don’t know the results of the midterms on election night....

    Absolutely totally false.

20 years ago, extending backwards to at least 60 years ago, election results were broadcast on the 10 PM news on Election Day.  There were no electronic (fraud-enabling) devices used; it was a big honking machine/booth combo; you get in there, move the big lever to the right--closing the curtain behind you-- throw the mechanical switches to your preferred candidate or referendum answer, haul the Big Lever to the left, and you had voted.  The lever also opened the curtain behind you.

Then you watched the news, knew what happened, and retired.

Yes, it's a setup for a repeat of the "Biden Miracle" of '20.  In Wisconsin, that meant that the City of Milwaukee's results were not entered until it was clear how many votes had to be manufactured to put Biden over the top.  All other Wisconsin municipalities had reported, so it was a simple math question, and sure enough, Milwaukee's fraud vote totals pulled Biden out of the ditch.

    Think PBS/NPR lied on purpose?

    Doh.

Reminder: Charlie Sykes Founded "The Bulwark"

We'll give Sykes credit where it's due:  he made a fortune wearing diametrically opposed skin-suits.

After raking in Large Dollars playing "conservative" on the radio, Sykes founded something called "The Bulwark."

Here's their take on individual liberty as applied to Elon Musk. (NSFW)

Sykes did leave Bulwark--or at least, his Wiki says so.

    How Democrats Lie

This one's pretty easy to spot, especially if you lived through the Clinton era.

...According to Federal Election Commission records, a pro-Peltola super PAC called 49th State PAC paid Wingspan Strategies, a firm co-owned by Mr. Kurtz, about $87,000 this fall. The PAC said in a statement this week it had “never hired or paid Jerid Kurtz for performing any services.”...--NYT report quoted at FatElephant

    Didja catch the lie?

The snakeskin-covered hand of Marc Elias is all over it.  A Peltola PAC paid "Wingspan Strategies" $87 large.  When the NYT asked about Jerid Kurtz--who OWNS "Wingspan"--the PAC stated that they "never hired or paid" him.

    They paid "Wingspan," see?

It depends on the meaning of "Is," you see.

Seventy years ago, the Bar Association would have ejected a slime like Elias.  Might have done so only 60 years ago.

Now?  Bar associations admire guys like Elias.  He's become a Model Lawyer.

    Feh.

    750,000 Attend Brewers' Parade/Rally

Milwaukee cops estimate 750,000 peeps were present for the Brewers' parade through downtown and at the destination Summerfest amphitheater.  Bartenders at Summerfest estimate that they consumed 250,000 beers at that place alone.

    Not surprising.

We made a journey from Mequon to 'Tosa, using I-43 and I-94 to I-41 at about the time the parade was over.

Dumb move.  Took about 45 minutes to get from Center St. on I-43 to Hawley Road on I-94. Even with the construction, that's normally a 15 minute drive.

And some of the other drivers were.....ahhhh.....not too cautious, which signaled a potential alcohol problem.

Nancy vs. El-Sayed; It's Bigger Than That

Pelosi is--arguably--the second-slimiest individual EVER to sit in Congress*.  You may argue that McConnell is, but we say it's Nancy.  She orchestrated J6, planning the event's entire course of events so that from beginning to end it became TRUMP'S FAULT; she made certain that the National Guard would not be available; she plotted with Comey to have 250 FEEBS circulating in the crowd, she most likely plotted with SPLC to have plenty of agitators in place........and, of course, she plotted and planned every single (D) Party's attack on the Constitution and Conservatives, not to mention her attacks on morals and mores through legislation over the last 20 years.

*(Slimiest was Hillary Clinton.  Pelosi's dead body count cannot ever match HRC's.)

    Anyhow.

Even Nancy can't take what she brought forth.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) criticized Michigan Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, stating that his radical views on Israel were “more than concerning.”...

Nancy chose that ground--Israel--because she knows that the Democrats can NOT lose Jewish backing.

But that's a decoy.  The NYT has run stories on the (D) election deception in AK and named Marc Elias in that story.  Elias is a Friend of Hillary, not of Nancy.  The NYT has also outed Ilhan Omar who--by no co-incidence--is despised by Pelosi.

    Not co-incidence, friends.

We know:  you're consuming popcorn at a record rate.  Our advice?  Buy.  More.  Popcorn!

    The Herd's "Whoops!!!": AI

Yes, the herd mentality exists in American industry.  Most recently, The Herd decided that AI was the thing to do.

    So The Herd did it.

    Ooops!

Shares of Intel plunged roughly 25 percent in premarket trading Friday after the American semiconductor giant issued a sharply disappointing sales and earnings forecast...

...The unexpectedly bleak outlook sent Intel shares tumbling more than 25 percent before Friday’s opening bell, threatening to wipe out more than $120 billion in market value. ...

    The reason for this collapse?

...The selloff was particularly dramatic because Intel shares had more than doubled this year as investors bet on a revival of the company’s fortunes amid the artificial intelligence boom....

    Oh.  AI!

To be fair, Intel's business model included personal computers.  Those sales have been down; some question whether the PC market will ever revive.

The AI Herd-damage extended to Google.

...[Google's] Q3 earnings call highlighted strong search query growth and the significant role AI Mode played in driving it. The company described its year-over-year query growth as its strongest in five years, including more searches with commercial intent, tying it to double-digit growth in Search advertising revenue.

Yet the earnings call made it clear that there’s a gap between the query growth and Search advertising revenue: AI Mode is driving additional queries, but those interactions generate less advertising revenue...

Eating its own lunch, so to speak.

Even Meta is taking a hit on the "AI" thing.  And there are others:

...Heading into this week, fears were mounting about the financial health of neoclouds like CoreWeave and Nebius, which are facing rising borrowing costs and a dearth of lenders as they pursue aggressive AI buildouts. Anthropic gets much of its capacity from Amazon, Google and SpaceX, but it also relies on neoclouds for some compute as it races to expand as quickly as possible.

Now investors are growing increasingly worried about the whole AI trade.

“It’s a great technology, seems to do things that we never would have imagined, but how does that then translate into a viable business?” David Hsu, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, said in an interview....

Being in The Herd is good for a time.  The trick is to get OUT of the Herd before things go south.

BTW, some are noticing the financing structure behind those Data Centers now chewing up thousands of acres of land nationally, and that financing structure is beginning to shake, rattle, and roll.  Not in a good way.

    Ticker for the roundup essay.

    Watch your six, friends!

Lula & Biden, Sittin' in a Tree......

    Very familiar path here.

The government of recently reelected socialist President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva this week announced a sweeping series of social media censorship measures with the alleged intention of fighting what it called “electoral harassment” in Brazilian workplaces.

The new policies empower Brazilian institutions with the ability to demand the takedown of political content published on social media platforms that is deemed to constitute “harassment” or “discrimination” against Brazilian workers. The Brazilian Attorney General’s office left open the possibility of potential judicial measures to “fight” said kind of online content....

The measures have NOTHING to do with fig-leaf "workers" and EVERYTHING to do with protecting the Lula Regime.

Took the instructions straight from the Biden Guide to Tyranny, which Biden took from Obama, and which Obama took from Stalin, mutatis mutandis.

If you like that, be sure to vote blue!

The Party of Crooks and Liars

     Voting for Dirt McGurk Crowley?

Even the NYTimes is getting out while the getting is good.  They have outed Ilhan, outed Peltola, and have broadly hinted that Marc Elias is next.

Add to them "Sanitary Pads" Walz, his crooked A.G., the revelations about the Michigan governor-ette and her SOS.....not to mention the Islamist/Communist Senator-wannabee in Michigan, the ineffably horrible Newsom, Adam Schiff.........

The Democrats are exactly what we thought.

Really want to put another one in the cross-hairs of the Attorney General and the FBI?

    Really???

Minnesota's Autism Grift in Wisconsin?? Not Really

By now, Grifter Ripoffs in Minnesota is not really a headline; it's just another day ending in -y.

    So this is no surprise:

...The Justice Department also announced charges against 15 defendants in May in connection with alleged health care fraud schemes involving more than $90 million in intended losses. The cases included an alleged $46.6 million scheme targeting Minnesota's autism intervention program, which DOJ said saw Medicaid claims surge from more than $600,000 in 2018 to more than $400 million by2025  --quoted at AOSHQ

    Well, let's look at Wisconsin!

... The ADDM Network publishes ASD prevalence reports in CDC’s MMWR Surveillance Summaries....

...2020. On average, 2.8% or one in every 36 eight-year-old in the 11 ADDM Network sites was classified as having an ASD....

Not bad.  Never good, but not bad.

But let's go back a bit:

... 2002. On average, .7% or one in every 150 eight-year olds in the 14 ADDM Network sites was classified as having an ASD....

    That's a 400% jump in 18 years; and there's a bit more:

...The percentage of 8-year-old children identified with autism increased in southeastern Wisconsin, from 2.8% in 2020 to 3.8% in 2022....

The survey indicates that autism is more prevalent in low-income areas.

    Now, the spending:

...Medicaid spending on autism therapy in Wisconsin grew from $39.9 million in 2018 to $53.7 million in 2022, with audits revealing significant improper payments in the program....--DuckDuckGo search assist

    Oh.

Well, it's not Minnesota Class (the Gold Standard of theft), but it's a lot of money.  The intriguing part is the "low-income" area disparity, but that's up to an investigator to figure out.  Won't happen if World-Class Dummy "Dirt McGurk" gets elected, but.....

    What's "Minnesota Class"?  $600K in 2018 to $400 million in 2025.

    FBI Wants National ALPR Coverage/Access

There is a "maybe/if" in this story, but We Told You So.

Apparently, having cameras monitor motorists across the country is not enough. The FBI, whose current director, Kash Patel, once railed against its surveillance abuses and proposed turning its headquarters into a “museum of the deep state,” now wants broader access to the information those cameras collect. The proposed system could allow federal agents to track Americans’ movements nationwide, with data arriving in near real time. ...

Section 702 is not enough, you see.  Having access to every call, text, and email you ever sent or received is not enough, you see.  WE WANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE AT ALL TIMES, you see.

There is a (possible) halt to this request:

... The FBI’s plans are detailed in a federal solicitation first published May 11 and subsequently amended. The bidding period closed June 17, and the solicitation is now listed as inactive. That designation does not indicate whether the bureau has awarded or abandoned the contract....

    "Inactive."

    You be the judge.....

We Call Him "Joe Fu**", Troy

The jackass you work with (for now) has always been a jackass, Troy.

We have never, ever, thought well of him--and that "we" includes a lot of people up here.

You're better off spending time on the links, or in a sauna, or even just mowing your lawn at home.  ALL of those are better options than spending time with Joe F**k.

    Just Another Democrat Election Fraud....

"Motor Voter" registers illegals to vote; "Mail-Out (to WHOM)" ballots sent to sketch "people" at sketch "addresses," block windows for the Big Steal,  -- now a brand-new Democrat Election Fraud scheme -- one of TWO election-fraud schemes operative in Alaska.

Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy on Wednesday ordered an investigation into whether Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola's campaign should face criminal charges or civil penalties for recruiting a candidate who shares the name of Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan...

... Senior Peltola advisers and aides at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee helped recruit Dan J. Sullivan, a retiree from a small Alaska fishing village, because his first and last name match the incumbent's, according to The New York Times. Text messages the Times reviewed show the Peltola campaign and the DSCC discussed the recruitment for months. Both Sullivans, Peltola and Gerald Heikes will appear on Tuesday's ballot...

This one stinks so bad that the NYT "investigated."  That means that the NYT was TOLD to "investigate" by a Democrat higher-up.

Why would a Democrat tear into one of their own?

To cover up the REAL fraud-scheme in Alaska:  "Ranked-Choice" voting--which makes a Democrat victor guar-an-f*n-teed.

    Too bad, Ms. Peltola.

"Should you get elected, you'll be in an Alaskan jail anyway.  Sacrifices had to be made, you know."--Signed, Democrat National Committee

Estee Lauder Heir Negative on Israel

    Well, this is something.

Quoting an item from Trita Parsi, who notes this item from Lauder:

... “Ronald Lauder has never lived in Israel. But in the past year the Jewish billionaire, who serves as president of the World Jewish Congress, has given up his remaining properties in the country, a sign of the deep shift in his views of its future. A deep sense of disgust appears on his face as he recounts this. “I’ve sold my apartment in Tel Aviv, I gave my home in Be’er Sheva to the Jewish National Fund, of which I’m also the chairman. I basically cut my ties there. Because it has become so…,” Lauder grimaces, making a gesture of vomiting.

He goes on to blame Israel for failing to make peace, explaining that Israel actually didn’t want peace:

“I realized at the end of the day that Israel really didn’t want peace, but they wanted dominance. And I walked away from it.”

“You’ve lost the Democratic Party, and you’re losing the Republican Party. And it’s all because of foolishness on your part. I want to tell Israelis, ‘Shame on you! Shame on all of you. Your fathers and your grandfathers fought for this place, and you’re losing it because of foolishness. Period.’”

I think this reflects the view of many who fought to establish Israel/supported its creation, but at the same time believed in peace. Perhaps an unjust peace, clearly a peace on Israel’s terms - but a peace nonetheless.

But Israel has long swapped dominance and control for peace, and it has taken quite some time for many of its original supporters and champions to realize it - and admit to themselves the direction Israel actually is going in....

The last two grafs are Parsi--but No Lies Detected.

    Rome's Confusing Signals on Liturgy

Yes, there are lots of confusing signals coming out of Rome.  The rude and provocative "Go Away" to the Old Rite pilgrims at St Peter's is one.

Here's the counter to that very disappointing incident:

The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith has published this Thursday, October 22, Venite ad me (“Come to me”), a new document on the transmission of the faith that recognizes the importance of the liturgy, the beauty of worship, and the different sensibilities present in the Catholic tradition. The text, conceived under the pontificate of Francis, signed by Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández Saraz, and approved by Leo XIV, addresses the Church’s difficulties in transmitting Christianity to new generations amid contemporary cultural transformations....

OK.  This is a Franny1/Leo document, written by CDF.  It has horsepower behind it.

...“With due respect for the currently valid liturgical norms, pastors are called to highlight the richness of the Catholic liturgical heritage,” the text affirms, citing as an example the variety of musical styles that form part of that heritage....

...According to the Dicastery, through gestures, words, silences, and symbols, the faithful participate in the mystery being celebrated and receive a faith that has been lived and transmitted by previous generations.

The text recovers the traditional principle lex orandi, lex credendi, which expresses the relationship between the Church’s prayer and its faith, and underscores the importance of forming believers to understand liturgical language....

You can almost hear them approve Usus Antiquior.

...[Citing Romano Guardini], Through this latter testimony, the document acknowledges that there are different forms of prayerful participation, including silent contemplation of the rites. Guardini highlighted the capacity of the faithful to welcome the sacred through sight and contemplation, even during prolonged celebrations. ...

...The document also affirms the value of popular piety [the prayer to St. Michael?] and traditional expressions of the Catholic faith. The Dicastery recalls that these practices have made it possible to preserve and transmit Christianity even in adverse cultural contexts....

It should be clear that there is a war going on in Rome between ultra-progressives and 'mild traditionalists' in the context of the liturgy and other matters.  It seems that Leo is in the latter camp, but--like Trump in the secular arena--undercut or actively resisted by long-tenured snakes.  [It would help if Leo were far more careful about his off-the-cuff remarks to the press.]

    Soccer Paper: World Series "Boring"

Some tabloid based in England managed to find a few people who called the World Series "boring."

In England, they play soccer--so they know the definition of "boring."

And the few people they found?  Obviously did not watch games One and Two, which were nail-biter/edge-of-the-seat contests.

Did NOT know that Newspaper Bias extended to sports.
