Yes, what a brilliant piece of political commentary. Here are some of the cogent rebuttals...

China owns 6% of the U.S. public debt. That's a fact, easily accessible in Treasury records (which are updated daily, by law). The whole "China subsidizes US spending" meme is just political fear mongering from both the right and the left. 75% of the public debt is actually owned by US financial companies, banks, and private investors. The other 19% of the debt is owned by Japan, the UK, private non-US banks, Brazil, Hong Kong, and Russia. Get your facts straight.

China put 4 trillion Yuan ($586B) into stimulus in 2008. Way, way, way bigger than ours relative to the size of the economy. Unlike here, all of it went to infrastructure, rather than primarily into wasteful tax cuts. As a result, their economy grew by 7.3% last year.

This is stupid on so many levels.

China would never blame a nation's downfall on State interventionsim, when their own economy (which is, mind it, going pretty well) is based on it.

Turning their backs on the principles that made them great? COME ON! The world's dynamics change continuously, it's only normal that a country has to modify its principles in order to adapt. It's not because USA's economy depended on slavery that it had to stay that way.

Uh-huh. And Bloomberg reports (yesterday) that PRC inflation is near out-of-control due to their "stimulus".

And PRC's economy depends on mercantile semi-slavery, just like it always had. Think they'll change?

Anon, just because you put it in Chinese characters does not mean you should cuss on someone's blog.

Anonymous said...

Hey, anon 6:57 a.m., the Chinese characters was a JOKE! Unless you know for sure that it is a profanity. Why don't you enlighten us???

Anonymous said...

Its roughly translated to "Better learn Chinese Bit#@". The last word is the English word for a female dog.

The only question is why would someone post a phrase from another language which, in effect, is about the takeover of a country by the Chinese on a post about the Chinese control of the economy and not know what it says?

Either idiocy or the most amazing coincidence in the combined history of all mankind.

I think "idiocy" covers it.

"Mental Disease" would also work.

It's called sarcasm, anony 12:40 p.m. Apparently, it's lost on everyone here.

Anon

So first you claimed you did not know what it meant, now you claim it was used sarcastically. That makes you a liar, and as such, every other part of your statement must be discounted in the same light.

Please play your sarcasm game with a less intelligent crowd next time. I am sure it would go over well on the lefty blogs.

anony at 10:41 a.m. So first you claimed you did not know what it meant...

Where did I ever say that? All I said was that "The Chinese characters were a joke". I just copied and pasted them. I wasn't compelled to translate. You felt the urge, apparently. Congratulations. Give yourself a Chinese fortune cookie.

"Please play your sarcasm game with a less intelligent crowd next time."

I just did, and you made a mountain out of a molehill. And, I have no need to go to "lefty blogs". Just ones which I find "interesting", to put it mildly.

You implicitly stated you were not aware there was a cuss word in it. Or are you going to play the old Liberal "depends on what "is" is game?

Face it, you either lied then or are lying now. Either way, you are a liar.

It is sad to see you try to weasel your way out. Your identity is unknown so why dig a deeper hole?

Like I said, making a mountain out of a molehill. I cut and pasted Chinese symbols for S & G's. I wasn't concerned nor cared nor knew about its meaning. You told me that the phrase contained a cuss word. You "enlightened" me, and then proceeded to call me a liar after I provided my explanation. "Idiocy" I think does cover it.

If you want to continue with this charade, be my guest. It's quite entertaining.

Pathetic liberal. My God, what happened to the left. There used to at least be a semblance of intellectual thought. Is this all that's left?

Anonymous said...

The mere fact that you refer to me as part of the left on purely gut instinct is hysterical. So, I must be a liberal for challenging some of the blog entries here? Wow,
talk about a "semblance of intellectual thought"!

Note that I did not make an assumption about your political ideology. Don't know, don't care.

I must say I'm enjoying your circus.

Anon, I apologize for assuming you were a liberal based upon your postings in this thread. In my defense the assumption was predicated on the childishness of your comment and the lack of any persuasive argument.

Talk about being a buffoon. If you were truly apologetic, the statement above need not be included. No wonder people are sick of liberals and conservatives when they make those type of comments.

Besides, in my first blog entry, I provided several comments that I found relevant in refutation of the insistence on the brilliance of that advertisement.

Well, it's been entertaining to say the least. As Bill O'Reilly says (who actually has some ideas I agree with), I'll give you the last word.
