I have been a professional reliability and qa eng in and out if silicon valley. Since 1983. You don't need an eng degree to understand what happened. Common sense and basic problem solving will do. I am 63 years old white guy who got replaced by cheap Mexican and Chinese and now works from home pushing documents around. That crisis in competence is real.
