Local Pravda: 'DESPITE the Evidence, We Persevere!'

The New Template:  all the world's evils are due to global warming.

In a few years, a dense network of weather stations will cover the state of Wisconsin, churning out real-time data on temperature, rainfall and soil conditions.

That network is called a mesonet...

Experts say mesonets can help better predict and track extreme weather events, which are growing more frequent as the climate warms.

Yah, well, except for the totality of the evidence, on warming (chart below) as opposed to the UW-Madison version which excludes the 1930's.  There's a reason for that, eh?

And even the claim about 'number of "extreme" events is poppycock.  How about the IPCC's 2021 report on "extreme" events?

...In its recent Sixth Assessment Report, the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change finds no evidence most weather events are becoming more extreme, including tornados. As detailed in a summary of the IPCC’s conclusions on extreme weather by the University of Colorado’s Roger Pielke Jr., “it is simply incorrect to claim that on climate time scales the frequency or intensity of extreme weather and climate events has increased for: flooding, drought (meteorological or hydrological), tropical cyclones, winter storms, thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail, lightning or extreme winds (so, storms of any type).

Concerning tornadoes in particular, the IPCC states, “There is low confidence in observed trends in small spatial-scale phenomena such as tornadoes.”

As discussed in “Climate at a Glance: Tornadoes,” the number of tornadoes has been declining for the past 50 years, and the number of strong tornadoes, F3 or higher, has dramatically declined over the past 50 years...

Nonetheless, Little Local Pravda perseveres in its "Despite The Evidence" campaign on the made-up "crisis" created by people using gas stoves, heating their homes, and driving ICE-powered cars and trucks.  (We note that the "crisis" they're inventing correlates with Little Local Pravda's loss of subscribers.  They should include that graph as definitive proof of the problem, as it will be an "extinction event" in the next 5 years or so.)

Below is the actual temps-chart until A.D. 2000.  There has been a slight rise in 'observed' temps since then which has a lot to do with sticking thermometers next to asphalt-paved airports.
