Second Verse, Same As the First

Does he really think this'll work again?

“For all the frustrations and the challenges and resistance, we have to bringing about change. … When the American people join together, we cannot be stopped. We say to ourselves, ‘Yes, we can.’ It doesn’t matter how tough a week I have in Washington, because I know you’ve got me — you’ve got my back. When I come to Chicago, when I travel across the country, I know we can’t be stopped. I know America is the greatest nation on Earth. And I know we will bring about the change that all of us believe in.

It's stale. And promising more of the same, given ~15% unemployment, 1.4% GDP growth, 100% debt/GDP........

Not very smart at all.

Every sentence and every phrase of every sentence is a cliche:

"...for all the frustrations and the challenges and resistance we have to bringing about change...",

"...when the American people join together, we cannot be stopped...",

"...we say to ourselves, ‘Yes, we can...’...",

"...you’ve got me — you’ve got my back...",

"...I know we can’t be stopped...",

"...I know America is the greatest nation on Earth...",

...and, the$100,000 winner:

"...and I know we will bring about the change that all of us believe in..."!

Incapable of saying and/or doing anything real...or ANYTHING, for that matter.

Sources tell us Boehner will introduce his initial jobs bill just as soon as he returns from the golf course and his latest fund raiser.

Do you honestly believe that the proper response to every economic situation is lower taxes, less spending? Recession? Lower taxes, less spending. Economic boom? Lower taxes, less spending. Inflation? Lower taxes, less spending. Deflation? Lower taxes, less spending.

You do realize, don't you, that economists, even those that your side's icons respect, employ different tools for different jobs.

You're being deliberately obtuse.

We have two different ships which happen to have joined course at the same time.

One is the ship of Totalitarianism, begun here by Wilson and accelerated by FDR and LBJ--with help from the Republican Party of Stupids.

The other is the ship of recession.

The larger threat to the country is Totalitarianism--so that's the one which must be sunk first.

Yes. Totalitarianism. That's it. That's the problem. See you at the gulag.

And I'M obtuse?

Personally, I've always considered myself acute. And so does my awife.
