Even MORE Dissent in Milwaukee

A few familiar names pop up when reading the list of priests supporting Fr. Bourgeois' support of female ordination.

Richard Aiken, Ed Eschweiler, Phil Reifenberg, John Pulice.

Apostasy on the matter:

...as the press release stated, the priests in support of Bourgeios' "priesthood and his right to speak from his conscience" has grown to 200. They have coined a name for themselves, too: Clergy For Conscience. Isn't that precious?

Precious is just the word.

...and all four are members of MAPA. No surprise there!

Don't forget Robert Betz...

Where is the scripture that mandates male only clergy?

Unlike the Prots, the Catholic church utilizes both Scripture and Tradition in formulating its doctrine and dogma.

It is through Tradition that we know Christ ordained only men. If there were a female candidate, she certainly would have been Mary, His mother.

And He didn't ordain her.

QED.

Catholics aren't the only ones with male-only ministers. Try ordaining a female in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Ain't gonna happen, either.

I think the better question is:

Why can't the Catholic Church worship and structure itself according to its theological beliefs?

Betz and Pulice were both priests at my grade school parish.

How the hell am I still Catholic?

...and here all this time you thought Confirmation was sorta ceremonial, eh, Andrew?

Missouri Synod Lutherans also do not ordain women, though we can serve as Deaconess and in leadership positions unlike WELS.

Haha, no, I just am surprised I didn't apostasize or fall away, with these two leading my school/parish.
