About the JS' "Gotcha" on WRTL--It's Fake

Gee. Getting an education from Wiggy is worthwhile!

“The Wisconsin Right to Life and Family Action coalition is offering rewards for volunteers who make an impact over the weekend by educating and encouraging family and friends to voted by absentee ballot.

“Here are the rewards:

$25 gift card or gas card reward for any volunteer who can get at least 15 pro-life/pro-family voters (and family and friends) to complete an absentee ballot application dated by Tuesday, July 5.
$75 gift card or gas card reward for the volunteer in each Senate district who gets the most absentee ballot applications completed and dated by Tuesday, July 5.”

So reads the content of a JS story.

Careful reading from Wiggy follows:

The rewards aren’t for those voting, but for those that are getting out the vote. Last I checked, there is nothing illegal about rewarding volunteers who get other people to vote. It’s only illegal to actually bribe people to vote, like what Wisconsin Jobs Now/Citizen Action/Pasch Campaign is alleged to have done.

Gee. Maybe having....oh, I dunno..."morals" and "ethics" and all that stuff is what distinguishes WRTL from 'Slimy' Pasch.

So you're saying that Illy T has it wrong? See Stat. § 12.11(1m):

Any person who offers or promises to give anything of value to any elector or to any other person, in order to induce any elector to:

1. Go to or refrain from going to the polls.
2. Vote or refrain from voting.
3. Vote or refrain from voting for or against a particular person.

Dad, You hit the nail onthe head. Wisconsin Right to Life did nothing illegal. They were providing incentives to their VOLUNTEERS...not to voters.

Tom Foley is a fake lawyer, and an arrogant know-it-all.

Tom Foley was probably beaten regularly for his lunch money as a child, not unlike John Foust.

"Fake lawyer"...then what is that law degree doing hanging on that wall?

Rather than take pot-shots, anony 12:32 p.m., use that brain of yours and refute the assertion. You know, contrary evidence.

Oh, Anony, that never happened to me. I was well-liked.

Tom Foley has a suspended law license.

John, nobody likes you. Your mother lobbied for retroactive abortion.

Anony 2:18 p.m., you certainly state your case for deranged poster of the year!

"Tom Foley has a suspended law license."

Rinse, repeat, lather...partisan style. Any actual counterargument to Illy-T? No, of course not.

Tom Foley sucks cock.

Apart from your sexual fantasies, Anony, what's that "or to any other person" phrase mean in the statute?

Anonymous said...

So John you are saying that Acorn and the DNC operated illegally in the last election since they paid their GOTV people?

Send more money to the Koch Bros!!

It's a puzzle, isn't it Anony?

If I ever posted comments like 4:24, Dad29 would be all over it.

Actually John, dad is now wiping your comments. What, you didn't notice?

"They were providing incentives to their VOLUNTEERS...not to voters.

Tom Foley sucks c*&^."

So some insane anony repeatedly can make disgusting remarks--comments unbecoming of a Christian--about Foust/his child (and now Foley)...and Foust gets the boot! Why? Because he brings in unsavory posters that you on occasion have the common decency to remove their comments?

Your blog, of course, but that's a raw deal. Kinda like the government squelching free speech.

I shall see if this post is "allowed".
