Sure Enough: The Tsunami Is "Global Warming"!

Poor fool didn't even get the memo that it's "climate change."

Wow... after perusing that site, I started to laugh...then cry...its no wonder this guy believes in Global Warming...his head is in a warm place.

Once again your "I-just-know-it-cuz-I-know-it" tendencies may be leading you astray yet again. Serious scientists do not discount the possibility. Tiny, tiny influences can have huge, huge impacts. The old Japanese butterfly effect. Here's a nice layman's treatment from a source you may not be inclined to discount out of hand: http://online.wsj.com/public/article/SB114981650181275742-sOx58NXvfKz2szefZXutgTSbaDI_20070608.html

Only three problems:

1) "Warming" stopped around 10 years ago;

2) Glaciers are not melting; they're adding mass;

3) Earthquakes have been around for eons.

False.

"2) Glaciers are not melting; they're adding mass;"

False.

"3) Earthquakes have been around for eons."

True, congratulations! But fire has been around forever too, yet there still is such a thing as an arson forest fire, is there not? Either way, 33% is still a failing grade.

I'd provide links, but by this time I've realized you are too firmly committed to your ignorance to click them, let alone read them or attempt to understand them.

All I wanna know is who the hell thought it was a solid idea to build a nuke plant on the Japanese coastal region most known for massive earthquakes and legendary Tsunamis.

This is even dumber than building a large city below sealevel in an area known for horrific hurricanes.

Well, Jim, the Non-Hockey-Stick numbers don't agree with yours. My bet is no the ones that actually have documented sources....

Ever hear of Antarctica?

And yah, it's kinda difficult to pin an earthquake on AGW, seeing as a lot of those quakes were pre-hominid.

Strupp....

Nukes are usually build where there is a fresh-water supply for cooling purposes, so yah, the sea-coast is an interesting choice.

What I want to know is how come the triple-redundant backup power seemed to fail (diesels AND batteries.)

Global warming is the biggest hoax in history and Al Gore is one of the biggest frauds in history.

Water and diesel engines don't mix.

"Global warming is the biggest hoax in history..."

Bigger than Islam!?

@jimspice

Well, depending on how you look at Islam or Islamic extremism then you could believe that those who practice Islamic extremism are following the precepts of Islam correctly or one could think that the Islamic extremists are perverting the true Islamic faith. I have mixed feelings on this. But, I would call it a tie between Islam and global warming being the biggest hoaxes in history.

Bigger than evolution?

Dad29 said...

I'll go with Jim: evolution.

It's the counter-revolution to Islam and Christianity.

Teresa said...

But, evolution is compatible with creationism.

@jimspice has inspired me to do a post covering this topic.

Dad29 said...

Not 'evolution' as the philosophy, Teresa.

And the philosophy has largely replaced the science, insofar as the science is quite dicey.

(Like AGW).
