Only $7 Million in Damages, Plus $5 Million for Cops

The news item did not mention poop-cleanup costs.

State officials said Thursday that damage to the marble inside and out the State Capitol would cost an estimated $7.5 million.

Cari Anne Renlund, chief legal counsel for the state Department of Administration, said in Dane County court that estimates of damage to marble includes $6 million to repair damaged marble inside the Capitol, $1 million for damage outside and $500,000 for costs to supervise the damage.

Much of the damage apparently has come from tape used to put up signs and placards at the Capitol

S'pose those flea-infested dope-smoker plastic-banana good time Charlies and Charlottes will pay up??

Hey...they were just execising their first Amendment Rights to uh....speak freely and....er....trash the property of others.

Isn't it interesting the way the Left has no regard for the property of others?

Yeah Deek, reminds me of the story about how all the W's were stolen off the White House keyboards in '01. This is likely another way for Scooter to overpay his contractor cronies, the same crowd he showered tax cuts on just before he began howling how the state is broke.

Oh, you mean the businesses that create real jobs and pay for the bloated unions, right?

Interesting. Jim Spice has no comment...

Actually, no I meant the businesses that are taking Scooter's tax cuts and banking them. What jobs might you be referring to?

Terry, you ought to hook up with Spice offline and see whether he's into submissive types.

Sorry TN, it's not like I sit around waiting for D29 to post new material. And this post wasn't even as interesting as normal since he didn't suggest shooting anyone this time. But if it's a comment you want, since Gov. Walker is so into no bid contracts now, I wouldn't be surprised if he would overpaid, but if this is open to bid, look for a more realistic price of the low-to-mid teen grand. And the plastic banana bit stumped me.

....and nobody challenges the figure of $7.5 million????

I suggest a no-bid contract be awarded to Koch Cleaning.

Anony: we don't discuss business here, and your butt-jokes are getting VERY tiresome.

Get your own blog if you want to fixate on your perversion.

Tim, the number was arrived at with consulting from some Fed Gov guy.

BTW: anybody who knows ANYTHING about marble knows that one does NOT put adhesive tape on the surface.

Try that at home sometime and you'll be living in your SUV.

See how easy it is, Dad29, to remove comments which are, I would assume inappropriate, and dare I say, sinful.

Maybe the fear of judgment day provided you with some clarity.

Perjury charges should be forthcoming: http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/117409458.html

Aww. "Pay To Plale" helps pay back Walker for his new job, I guess, with some fudged figures. It'll be days before that correction reaches Fox News. Mission accomplished! And those thuggish volunteers step forward.

Jim, I don't know why that bothers you.

It's the AlGore Accounting Method. I mean, how many $Zillions has the alleged AGW cost us, according to Al?

One of the things I like about me* is my willingness to critique my side when they are out of line. For example, I am no fan of Gore. I'm not sure why you would assume I am, as I've said as much in comments on this very blog.

Why cannot you recognize your side was overstating its case to make a political point, and further, by doing so in open court was acting not only dishonorably but illegally?

*(that and my eyes like limpid pools).

As to your eye problem, see an opthamologist, Jim. Prolly can be cured.

I haven't really pressed this 'damage' estimate. Seems like they're backtracking it now, and that means that nobody knows what the damages will be.
