Those who thought Teh Won would pull a Clinton following the shellacking of 11/2 are smoking loco-weed.
...the Obama administration has named a new head of the the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (and oh yes Explosives). Well, as good as. [Subject to Senate confirmation.]
The nominee is Andrew Traver.
The ATF has been busy computerizing the records of ALL U.S. gun purchases—even though federal law specifically prohibits the creation of a national gun registry. And who do you think’s gung-ho on this effort? Barack’s man Traver.
Well, what's a Federal law, anyway? Obama's AG doesn't think too much of them; why should BATFE?
Agent Traver is also anti-home defense modern sporting assault rifles
"Modern sporting assault rifles" are AR-15's, the civilian version of the M-16.
The following is from an NBC synopsis of an interview with Traver while he was in Chicago. It is so full of errors that it's almost impossible to take on all of them:
Traver says the power and randomness of the heavy caliber, military-style weapons make them so dangerous not only to people, but to police. They’re so powerful, body armor can’t withstand a hit, and they’re so difficult to control, their bullets often get sprayed beyond the intended targets, striking innocent victims even when they’re in their own homes. --nbcchicago.com
First off, .223 is not "heavy" caliber. .44 or .50 is "heavy." Secondly, the .223 is not armor-penetrating except in extremely-close-range situations (whereas the .30-06 IS armor-penetrating.) Finally, they are "difficult to control" only when used with 'gangsta grip'--sideways.
But hey. If Federal law is irrelevant to Agent Traver, then what's a few facts?
He's perfect for the Obama Regime!

Only when they're in the hands of criminal thugs, that is. Law-abiding citizens...not so much.
