The USCCB gets it.
Breaking long-established precedent, the USCCB did NOT make its current VP into its President, instead electing Abp. Dolan of NYC (ex-Milwaukee, ex-St Louis.)
The VP had a lot of baggage, to say the least.

So, why isn't Dolan a Cardinal yet?
Dan: short answer - Cardinal Egan is still of voting age.
Dad: Yes! I wasn't expecting it, but I'm pleased with the result.
That vote was way too close. Have 45% of the bishops not used that thing called the "int-er-net" before?
Well, Abp. Dolan is certainly not Bp. Bruskewitz...
The Bishops are not all that different from Congress in SOME ways. There remains a certain 'club' mentality, not to mention a lot of ........ahhhhh........mal-educated people among them.
