SAVE the Spending Act!!

It seems that Speaker Johnson may do the right thing.

Underline "may."

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and House Republican leadership are reportedly discussing attaching a bill that requires proof of citizenship to vote to a stop-gap spending bill.

The federal government will shut down on September 30 if Congress fails to pass a spending bill, and congressional leaders are eyeing a short-term spending bill that would fund the government past Election Day, November 5.

Johnson and Republican leaders are now considering attaching the SAVE Act, a bill that would require proof of citizenship to vote in a federal election, to the short-term spending bill that would continue funding the government until March 2025....

Johnson's record of doing the right thing is spotty, but in this case?  65% of actual Americans favor a proof-of-citizenship for voting.  Think Johnson will P.O. that many people?

Stay tuned.

SAVE Act Is 4 Times More Popular Than Congress

While 80 percent of Americans disapprove of Congress, 80 percent of voters approve of voter verification. So Congress goes on spring break.

Congress is slightly more popular than syphilis, and less so than measles. Let’s face it, Congress’ action — and inaction — has proven more dangerous than both.

Most American voters think it’s pretty important. But their opinions don’t really rate with congress. Is it any wonder congress is so unpopular?
