They don't.
Apple’s Mobility Trends report shows that traffic in the US and other countries like Germany has pretty much doubled in the past three weeks. It had been down up to 72%. And location data provider Foursquare says that gas and fast food visits are back to pre-COVID-19 levels in the American Midwest....So happens my job is "essential," and I do a lot of driving in Wisconsin and Illinois. Last week I mentioned that traffic was up, and on Friday 5/1, it was nearly back to "normal" on I-94, I-294, and I-80.
For me, that's not good; I prefer to run at 78MPH unimpeded by traffic. Oh, well.
And as usual, the FIB's drive like complete a**holes.
