Even Ripley Wouldn't Believe This

Apparently there are concerns about a TLC show called "All-American Muslim."  As a result of those concerns, Lowe's pulled its advertising.

So?

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) … said Lowe’s is choosing to disregard the First Amendment.

Umnnnhhhh...that wasn't enough for a leggie from the land of fruits and nuts:

[California State] Sen. Ted Lieu, D-Torrance, told The Associated Press he would also consider legislative action if Lowe’s doesn’t apologize to Muslims and reinstate its ads.

Only 20 years ago, this country was America.

"Apparently there are concerns"

What sort of concerns?

The legislative action Lieu is considering is a resolution denouncing Lowe's action. It's not a law.

So? Lowes can unsupport whatever it wants.

Some of the concerns may have something to do with the plummeting ratings of the show. People gotta watch to get advertisers.

Lowe's did not pull ads because of ratings. They pulled them because they decided the show was "controversial". That's because Christian organizations told them it was.

VSO, of course they can. And I can shop anywhere I want and it ain't gonna be Lowe's. Free speech and all that.

The article I read on this over the weekend indicated that Lowe's statement said there was multiple reasons, but it also had the shows ratings - which have dropped off by more than half since the first episode. I'm suspecting that it didn't take much to convince them to drop the ads. There were far more of Lowe's customer base that didn't like the show than actually watched it.

That said, they need a better PR person.

If Lowes is a Jim Spice free zone and it has a set of God fearing Christian morals it sound pleasant to me...... Anyone want to go shopping?
