The Submarining of the Garrett Amendment

The Garrett Amendment was sunk by the (R) 'leadership' in Congress last Friday.

In essence, the Garrett Amendment was like the Ryan Plan--except that it shrank the timetable to only about 5 years.

Well, no Member of the Ruling-Class-in-Good-Standing would have any of that foolishness, so the Republicans dumped it.

Duffy, Ryan, Sensenbrenner, and the spend-a-holic Petri voted against the amendment.

Ribble, to his credit, voted FOR it.
