Sure, you cynics can tell, immediately, who said this.
Or can you?
The fact that we are ... to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.
I thought you'd know, and you're RIGHT!!
B. Hussein Obama, 2006.
By the way, HE was right in 2006, too. Maybe for the very last time, but hey...he gets the props.

I'd say credit where credit is due, but perhaps that would be inappropriate given the subject at hand.
The U.S. government could pay its bills in 2006 and it does so today. Sounds like political crap to me.
Because it's always funny to use his middle name!
In 2006 who knew that the US would in two years be on the brink of economic disaster? Still, PPACA is projected to reduce the deficit by $1.3T over the next 20 years.
....and letting EGTRRA and JGTRRA expire as they were designed to do would have reduced the deficit by at least the same amount over that same time period.
I guess you could draw the conclusion that deficit hawks really don't care that much about deficits.
Hey Foust, would you prefer Barry Soetero instead?
Be bold, anonymous Neo-Con! Go ahead, just make fun of his ancestry and skin color.
For funny names, I prefer Michelle Maglalang. As an aside, anyone seen her birth certificate? Both her parents were here illegally when she was born...
