It's the SPENDING, Stupid!

All you need to know about the "compromise" Wisconsin budget:

Doyle aides said the budget would spend about $58 billion, or 8% more than the last budget that ended on July 1.

That means an 8% increase in taxes/fees, folks--one way or the other, at some point in time, they HAVE to extract another 8% in State revenues from your wallet.

No doubt all of you got an 8% raise this year to cover it, right?

CORRECTION: 3.92%/year increase in spending (see comments from the Math-Whiz), meaning a 3.92% (plus gross-up) increase in YOUR income necessary to pay the taxes.

Since it's a biennium budget, you need to take the square root of the increase (1.08) to get the annualized raises required to pay for it.

Funny thing is, I haven't seen a 3.92% increase in my pay lately.

Great - so when you add all the tax and fee increases from the schools and village, plus how gass and energy are more expensive for ME too, then my raises for the next 2 years are already more than gone. Nice!

I would like to personally thank all the morons who voted Democrat and our esteemed governmental leadership for prompting a Wisconsin native with a Masters Degree for deciding that as soon as Grandma and Grandpa are no longer with us, my family is outta here.
