The Prosecution's Summation

On l'affaire Herman, here's a lawprof's summation:

Let’s sum up the “facts” as they are known right now.  Mostly unnamed people accused Herman Cain of unspecified conduct which some people who will not specify the people or the conduct have deemed “inappropriate.”  And one of the unnamed people received a piddly $35,000 severance package almost 15 years ago for unspecified conduct which included conduct unrelated to Cain.

Enough for a conviction by the MSM, of course.  But if you have common sense........not so much.

As to the accusers:  lacking any further details, it's reasonable to say that these are typical "wound-waaay-too-tight" types who really ought to spend some time with their meds, not the press.

Absolutely! Cain's reputation is being sullied by a "sudden revelation" of some alleged incidents a number of years ago. Unfortunately, we live in a society where guilty until proven innocent is our mantra. And I would agree that SOME liberal elements of the MSM is furthering this story for their own purposes. But Cain and Block are certainly not helping matters.

BUT...here is the irony. The law perfessor and the right-wing blogosphere who are harping about how unnamed sources are making unfounded, unsubstantiated charges which are destroying a person's character...they also engage in the same behavior they reportedly disdain.

Of course, they would deny it vehemently. Must be a MSM conspiracy.

Now if his name was Bill Clinton they would be all but ignoring the claims.

Now if his name was [insert Democrat here] they would be all but calling for his resignation.

Works both ways, Al. Be the adult and recognize!
