NYTimes *Hearts* Palin?

Jacobson quotes an NYT essayist:

...Ms. Palin’s third point was more striking still: in contrast to the sweeping paeans to capitalism and the free market delivered by the Republican presidential candidates whose ranks she has yet to join, she sought to make a distinction between good capitalists and bad ones. The good ones, in her telling, are those small businesses that take risks and sink and swim in the churning market; the bad ones are well-connected megacorporations that live off bailouts, dodge taxes and profit terrifically while creating no jobs....

When you assail the Members of the Crony Club--whether they are (R) or (D)--you pay for it.  I can't say that the marginalization of Palin has only to do with offending Big Oil in Alaska, or offending the Fortune 100 in general.  But she's been marginalized.  Coulter, Sykes, and Ingraham (inter alia) seem to think that's just fine.

Is it because she won't commit on the ordained (Rovian) time-schedule?  Or because she hasn't resurrected her charismatic stump-speaking game?

Or is it because she's not a Member of the Club?

More on the same topic here.

No, it's because running for president, much less serving as president, is too damn hard. And you don't make as much money.

If you can't serve out your term as governor of one of the smallest states (by population) in the nation because you'll be distracted by mythological "frivolous lawsuits", you are not suited for hard work.

And she knows that.

None of those things. It's because she's polling below 40 percent of her OWN party. Even a nitwit like Palin understands that she isn't going anywhere without base.
