Barrett ought to be kissing Walker's.....ahhhh......toes.
The Milwaukee Finance & Personnel Committee approved an ordinance Friday to increase employees' share of health care costs, including a new requirement that employees pay 12% of their premiums - a $2,000 increase next year for a family of four - out of pocket. The full council will consider the measure Tuesday.
...The city's Department of Employee Relations estimates the changes will reduce health care spending by $25 million, to $112 million in 2012, instead of the average $15 million increase of recent years.
That would be a total of $40 million in one year.
