The neighbor thought he saw a coyote last week.
He was right. It trotted through the yard, south-westbound, early yesterday evening.
Looked pretty well-fed.

Dad,
is it still alive?
Have a GREAT weekend
They are everywhere. When I left the state in 1974, coyotes were unheard of in these parts. Not so much now. I saw one a few years ago crossing Lake Parkway like he owned it.
Yup, Paul, it's still alive.
The .30-30 wasn't near the back porch.
Coyotes are common in my new neighborhood, especially around the jackrabbit-rich golf course. They don't seem to have much luck with the roadrunners, as far as I can tell.
There are noticeably less bunnies this year.
Also--and good news--there USED to be a few stray cats in the area. Haven't seen them lately.
Heh.
Oh man... I see a coyote and I have a new rug, or table dressing!
I saw one in the middle of Milwaukee last week. Oklahoma Ave. by Humboldt Park. Middle of the day. I see them, maybe, two to three times a year in the city, usually at night. This one was kind of mangy.
Heh. The people of Franklin sent that one up to your neighborhood...
