Leonardi coined the headline "Blame Woodstock," used in his post regarding the new John Jay study about homosexual priests preying on youth.
...The report comes to the unshocking conclusion that the sexual revolution that began in the 60s was a critical factor in the abuse crisis....
And he characterizes this as "eye-rolling":
...Many more boys than girls were victimized, the report says, not because the perpetrators were gay but simply because the priests had more access to boys than to girls, in parishes, schools and extracurricular activities --quoting NYT
Why, yes, of course!!! All those altar BOYS of the years 200 AD through, oh...1985....?
The report is eyewash--or, perhaps, whitewash. We know who did what to whom and why. But the US Bishops are bound and determined to never, ever, ever admit the facts.

Complete b.s., indicating the demagnetized moral compass of all involved in this 'study'.
I doubt the Bishops could do more to demolish their own credibility, And yet, they continue to find new lows.
Yes, I'm sure they are 'sorry' (hopefully that isn't an 'imprecise' way to characterize their 'feelings'.)
I've heard all those abused boys between 200 A.D. and, oh, 1985 were just chalked up to "tradition." You seriously think the abuse didn't exist exist?
And the Bishops? When Rome won't tell them to report abusers to the local law enforcement, who could blame them for never admitting the facts?
The study was by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in NY, not the bishops
Fitzsgibbons, a pschiatrist was critical of the college saying that criminologists “lack the professional expertise to comment on causes of sexual abuse.”
In fact, it is inane to state that 'homosexuality' was not part of this mess.
