Now here's the caption accompanying that Agence France-Press (AFP) photo:
An elderly Iraqi woman shows two bullets which she says hit her house following an early coalition forces raid in the predominantly Shiite Baghdad suburb of Sadr City. At least 175 people were slaughtered on Tuesday and more than 200 wounded when four suicide truck bombs targeted people from an ancient religious sect in northern Iraq, officials said.(AFP/Wissam al-Okaili)
What's wrong with the pic/cap?

I'll do you one better: Those "bullets" are intact cartridges. If they hit her house someone threw them at it.
Yep. I'm no gun expert, but I've watch enough episodes of "Mythbusters" to know that bullets don't look that good if they've been shot at someone.
But, naturally, the MSM knows it's lefty readers won't understand how guns work (since guns are evil, after all)...so it's a great way to show how horrible this war is.
Rick's got it, and Amy nailed the reason the reporters swallowed the story.
Maybe someone THREW them at her house.
Of course, the old woman could be stealing the ammo from US troops, too.
those look like .223's to me
Mark
Could be .223s.
Last time I saw one close-up was in BCT, around 1968.
I kinda thunk 'short-magnum' when I saw the casing.
