The guy doesn't get it.
Rudy Giuliani addressed a potentially troublesome issue with conservative voters, saying his policies as mayor to get handguns off the street helped reduce crime in New York.
"I used gun control as mayor," he said at a news conference Saturday during a swing through California. But "I understand the Second Amendment. I understand the right to bear arms."
He said what he did as mayor would have no effect on hunting.
I must have missed the part of the 2nd which talks about deer and squirrels.

Oh come on, I heard him talk about this for an extended period. There definitely are places where guns should not be in people's hands. It's one thing for a guy in the burbs to have one, and quite another to have them all over in a city of millions of people. He made some very good points on this topic, which can't be said for some others...
James,
Are you as sanguine about the restriction of First Ammendment rights? No free speech or free exercise of religion in cities? Since when does living in a city mean your consitutional rights are flushed down the toilet?
Jim, Rudy Giuliani is a card-carrying member of the Government Party.
His ridiculous pirouettes on the topic of the 2A are just the tip of the iceberg.
He understands campaigning.
In addition, he understands the majority of voters worry about people who obsess about guns.
Actually, JP, we obsess about the Bill of Rights.
But you can give them up--just move to England.
You should move to Iraq. They have a large selection of weapons I am sure you would have fun playing with. In addition, you would not need to be concerned about the Bill of Rights.
