Milwaukee Old Rite Mass: Stepping Up

Because of the re-alignment of parishes in the West Allis/West Milwaukee area which will be coming in the next 12 months or so, the Archbishop of Milwaukee has agreed that:

1) The Old Rite (Tridentine Latin Community) will have its own church building;
2) This church will be designated an "Oratory" (following the Rockford and London models); and
3) The Archdiocese will begin negotiations with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter to obtain a full-time priest/pastor for the Tridentine Latin Community and the Oratory.

At this time, the Community has active membership of over 200 families and more than 400 people regularly attending Sunday Mass. Four priests service the Community, but all of them are officially "retired," and all serve on a part-time basis. The changes will be beneficial to the Archdiocese (establishing a canonically-legitimate entity) and to the Community.

SSPV????? Are you sure you don't mean the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter? The SSPV is a sedevacantist group, broken off of the SSPX schism because they think SSPX is too loyal and liberal!
