We think very highly of men and women who join the National Guard to guard the nation.

Nearly 300 Wisconsin Army National Guard soldiers are headed to the Horn of Africa – and history is being made. For the first time ever, a Milwaukee-based unit, the 157th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (MEB), will deploy to the region – an area that includes Somalia....
("MEB" actually means "Transportation Company." They drive big-ass trucks 'n' stuff.)
Yah, yah, we know: Muslims--financed by Iran--are killing, raping, robbing. The usual stuff.
What, exactly, is the Compelling National Interest of the US in this? Is it more or less "compelling" than Ukraine?
Another sign that things have gone bonkers:

Soldiers kill people and break things. They are not cops; they are not "partners," and they are not the Peace Corps, nor some vague international charity.
We send very good men and women to Lower Noplace for no good reason at all.
Let's hope that the 157th doesn't pay for Globalism with blood.
