The Dutch are attacking their farmers' income stream.
And New Zealand is proposing another variant of the same game.
New Zealand’s left-wing government on Tuesday proposed taxing the gasses farm animals create from burping and peeing as part of a plan to reset agricultural production and “tackle climate change.”
The Labour administration led by Jacinda Ardern, a former president of the International Union of Socialist Youth , claimed what it called a farm levy would be a world first and farmers should be able to recoup the cost by simply charging consumers more for their products....
'Simply raise prices!!'
First off, this "save the planet" stuff is far more BS than all the cattle in the world emit.
The end-game here is to replace beef and mutton with crickets and grasshoppers (but only for the Little People).
They'll try this in the US, too, unless the Democrat Socialist-Green Party is simply smashed to smithereens in the next couple of elections.

My comment as an American living/working in NZ = locals are an absolute victim of a nanny state. Obedience to any authority is their culture and sure as hell not mine. My very act of questioning a boss almost unheard of. Shocked people staring at me when I would mention what an idiot hobbit idea they were putting forward. I refused to do what hobbits ordered me to and a blank stare is all I would get. My duration? Two years then said I'm leaving dorks goodbye.
