The Wisconsin Supreme Court granted a temporary injunction against the Dane County (Madistan-land) "health" order forcing all schools, public and private, in the County to close.
Catholics, particularly St Ambrose Academy, petitioned the Wisconsin Supreme Court, (SCOWI) to block the Dane County order.
Injunction was granted today about an hour ago.
More to follow.
This is the second time Catholics have defeated Dane County in court over "pandemic" matters. Earlier this year, Dane County retreated from its order closing all churches by allowing 25%-of-capacity attendance following a legal threat from the Church.
UPDATE from WKOW Madison:
...In its order, the court said that it believes the group bringing the case against Dane County is likely to win because Wisconsin statutes give the power to close schools during epidemics to the state Department of Health Services. Local health officials do not have the same authority under state law....
Dane County and the St Ambrose group were granted time to bring additional arguments in the case.
