Oh. Well. Under THOSE Circumstances....

This is the liberal "mind" at work.  Not surprisingly, it's the same "mind" revealed by some people in my comboxes here.

Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) today justified what the Catholic bishops of the United States have unanimously called an “unjust and illegal mandate” that forces Catholic business owners to provide coverage for free sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs because, Harkin said, some women need birth control pills to deal with menstrual pain...

Uh-huh.

First off, that would be "some", not "all".  The Liberal "mind" doesn't do math very well.

...In an interview with CNSNews.com, Harkin at no time contested that the regulation required Catholics to act against their faith. Instead, he likened forcing a Catholic to purchase health insurance that covers sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs to forcing Quakers to pay taxes to cover a war.
“It’s like a Quaker who pays income taxes,” said Harkin.   “They have to pay income taxes.  Quakers, as you know, have unalterably been opposed to war and military spending.  Yes, some of their taxes have to go to that.

The comparo is invalid.  For openers, national defense is a Constitutional mandate, not an option.  Secondly, there IS a 'conscience exemption' from front-line military service for Quakers and others who object to war-fighting.

But the Leftist "mind" doesn't grasp the difference.

And they bleat and wail that 'Conservatives seem to be so angry'.

And women with the kind of menstrual pain you'd actually go to the doctor for (not just regular pms) don't actually need birth control pills, either. If you have dysmenorrhea, there's an underlying cause that should be treated -- not given a "cure-all" pill that effs up your cycle. But, oh, that's right: libs think we women are too stupid to do anything other than pop a pill every morning.
