Walker Sums It Up. Pain in the Ass Disagrees

Simple story.

Walker said Monday that the evergreen decorated with ornaments and adorned with a star in the center of Wisconsin's Capitol Rotunda is a Christmas tree, not a holiday tree

...Annie Laurie Gaylor, called Walker's decision rude and insensitive to non-Christians.

The tree neither commemorates nor connotates the New Year, Thanksgiving,Memorial Day, 4th of July, ad. infinitum.

Not sure why so many lefties don't understand this, except that their guilt about possibly OFFENDING or EXCLUDING someone might be a factor...

Here I'll be insensitive to both sides of the argument and then I'll go away for good on this one:


Most people don't give a shit either way. That's right. It's a friggin' tree. Call it whatever the hell you wanna call it so I don't have to waste 10 minutes of my life during the 10 o' clock news for the next 2 months so both sides can get their rocks off debating this completely stupid issue every year. No one cares if it offends you. No one cares if you're a Christian Conservative trying to take back Christmas. If you have anger issues over this yearly Christmas debate, you need to see a shrink.

Every Nov./Dec. Same crap.

End of rant for today.

Some years ago Fr. Robert, OFM Conv.– who was an institution at St. Josaphat’s Basilica – related how he had called the company of a Catholic parishioner around Christmastime. The following exchange ensued:

Receptionist: “Happy Holidays!”

Fr. Robert: “Happy Christmas. This is Fr. Robert from St. Josaphat’s…”

Receptionist: “Oh, sorry Father. If I’d known it was you I would have said Happy Christmas. I didn’t want to offend anyone…”

Fr. Robert: “Well, you offended me…”

Yes Jim, we go through this every year as the secularists in our society seek to remove any trace of Christianity - and particularly Catholicism - from our daily lives. And the vapid excuse proffered is “to not offend”. What a crock! They have no trouble offending people by pushing the in-your-face gay agenda, Planned Parenthood, Abortion, condoms, etc. etc.

So yes, we will push back year after year. It may seem pointless, but then Our Lord’s life and death seemed pointless to some people of His day also. But a lot more people have gotten the point in the past 2000+ years.
