Penn State and the Disappearing D.A.

As the Penn State thing gets worse and worse, this little news item gets more intriguing.

It is strange that Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar never prosecuted Jerry Sandusky on child-rape charges 13 years ago, some speculate, because Gricar was known for being fiercely independent and hard on crime.

But it is even stranger that we cannot ask Gricar why Sandusky was not put behind bars because the tough-as-nails district attorney disappeared in 2005. And though he was declared dead July of this year, his body has never been found.

His laptop was found, but the hard drive had also disappeared.
Hmmmm.

Kinda smells a bit like the Fr. Kunz case.  The good priest was (according to sources) about to pop the lid on another homosex scandal, too.

Very much like the case of Father Kunz. Very much. Back in my news anchor days, our staff did a LOT of poking around the village of Dane and St. Michael's. We got tons of stuff OFF the record, but never for attribution.

Eerily similar.

Well, then, Tim, you also recall that Kunz' expose would have been about the Archdiocse of Chicago.

Chicago.....

I thought the investigation was Springfield...

I had heard Fr. Hardon talk before about a priest friend of his that was murdered which I think he has thought something with the occult. I didn't realize it was someone in Wisconsin.

1) Springfield, yes, but there was at least one or two Chicago connections, including a dead priest found roadside in Iowa.

2) Hardon and Kunz were very close.

3) The occultism stuff was mentioned in the book "Windswept House"--which Fr. Fiore (another friend of Kunz') edited. Dunno if the Kunz murder was occult-connected, but "Windswept" has a Bishop-character from the Carolinas who was an occultist. That character eventually moved to............

......you guessed it.

Chicago.
