That's one thing that Obozo was NOT lying about.
The Obama administration Thursday reversed a Bush-era decision and blocked a bid to build one of the largest mountaintop removal coal mines in Appalachian history.
For the first time, the Environmental Protection Agency is revoking a permit already issued, taking back its approval for Arch Coal’s Spruce No.1 mine in southern West Virginia.
Some BS about 'the ecology.'

Paging Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin to the West Virginia Coal Miner's courtesy phone...
The Administration is doing everything possible to make energy uber-expensive. Driving up the price of carbon-based fuels is just the start. The closure of Yucca Mountain ensures that the new nuclear plants on the docket now will not be built. Building 40 years worth of spent fuel on-site storage will greatly increase the cost and the anti's will have a fit and block the construction for years. Plan on cold and dark for quite a while.
Eh, not always. Natural gas & oil exploration in the Bakken shale formation (and similar formations out west) have exploded in the last few years. The spike in shale gas extraction in this country is also one of the main reasons NG futures have remained low.
We continue to expand oil exploration in this country despite what is often reported. Maybe not as fast as some people would like, but the government is not as much of a road block as you would think.
