AbortoCare in High School

Well, why not?

A Seattle mother is furious after learning that her 15-year-old daughter was sent by her school's health center for a secret abortion, reports ABC-affiliate KOMO.

The mother, identified only as “Jill,” says her daughter was given a pregnancy test at Ballard High School's Teen Health Center, which came back positive. Rather than informing the parents, she said, the center gave the girl a pass and put her in a taxi for the abortuary, all during school hours.

"They just told her that if she concealed it from her family, that it would be free of charge and no financial responsibility," Jill said.

After all, the woman is only the MOTHER. What does SHE have to say about this?

I must say that i must agree with Dad29 on the fact that the school's action was ludicrous and downright ignorant at best. I myself am somewhat pro-choice, i do believe that it should be the choice of both parents but ultimately the pregnant woman. I say this in the belief that we are all human and thus flawed and destined for mistakes. I however do not view this matter as something to be taken lightly or rushed through. It is an important and life-changing decision that must be carefully thought out. In regards to this case in paricular someone needs to go to that school and put some boot to ass as well as some legal action. Personally had i been the father of the girl i would have taken it upon myself to A. talk to my daughter about the seriousness of her situation and what she had done. and B. would most certainly have a come to Jesus meeting with the pompous asshole who though they could advise my daughter on such an action. Regardless of their medical training such a thing does not concern them beyond informing her of the pregnancy and perhaps giving some helpful advice but certainly nothing along the lines of the decision she should make. Were this my daughter and family there would be some serious restructuring going on at least with my daughter. My heart goes out to that family mostly the parents but particularly that poor girl, life is far too short not to try to live happy but you need to know how to go about it. I cast no judgment on her sexual activity just the irresponsibility of her and whatever idiot, hopefully someone who cares enough about her to realize the gravity of the situation, knocked her up. One would hope it was at least a boyfriend with some kind of love and respect for the girl. But alas i feel as though i have been ranting for too long now and have brought up plenty of issues to discuss. Hopefully no one takes offense to this post if so please respond and state your reasoning. And on an unrelated side note to Dad29 i just came across one of your older posts on Sayers' notes on Dante's Inferno, saw after it was quite old so i just wanted to let you know in case you don't look at, it was phenomenal and extremely helpful i'm currently writing a term paper on the structure of Dante's hell and the moral and theological reasoning behind the placements of sins. I have read The Divine Comedy once and The inferno four times and i must say you have an excellent grasp on it and particularly Sayers' view.
