Ann Coulter stepped across the boundary last week at CPAC.
While it's clear that she can do her homework right when writing a book, it's also clear that she can (and does) lose control during speech appearances.
A lot of conservative bloggers are unhappy with Ann, and are condemning her use of the term "faggot." Justifiably so.
But there's a little problem with some of them.
They also applauded the publication of equally-offensive cartoons in a Swedish newspaper, which cartoons mocked and derided Allah. That's blasphemy, which is several orders of magnitude worse than mere calumny.
Yes, that IS a contradiction. Wonder if they'll bother to retract their support of the cartoons?

We need to remember what the cartoon controversy was about. The cartoonists and the newspapers were threatened with violence for printing the cartoons, and there were riots and calls for murder throughout the Middle East. In that particulat case, we were dealing with a clash of cultures and the meaning of the first amendment.
In Coulter's case, conservatives are merely criticizing her for being stupid, offensive and hurting the conservative movement.
"Printing the cartoons" is the point, Wiggy. They should not have been printed--and no Conservative should have DEFENDED printing them.
