Style v. Substance

Peter has it.

...There are going to be lots of politicians arguing that we have to do something about the problem of mass shootings.  Mostly, they're posturing.  What they should be saying is that we need to do something effective about the problem of mass shootings . . . and that's a whole lot harder than merely pontificating.  If all they can do is bloviate and offer insincere, insubstantial, vague proposals that won't actually solve the problem, they're not worth your vote - or anyone else's. ...

At this link, he has 5 questions about "Solutions" which must be answered.  Not to worry; they won't be.

Also regarding the gun violence issue, Bearing Arms has this:

...Red flag laws are a gun control solution to a mental health problem. They take the guns and leave the mental health issues unaddressed.  Even if the due process concerns are addressed, the focus on guns and not the person makes any bill I’ve seen so for not worth supporting. Ultimately they don’t touch the real issues that need to be dealt with...
And AFAIC, it's not always "mental health."   In the vast majority of the cases, we have Satan at work.  Without going through the entire catalog, we can point to Vegas, Orlando, Sandy Hook, Columbine, Dayton, and Pittsburgh as 'clearly murderous rampages NOT due to 'mental disease.'

Be prepared to defend yourself and others, friends.
