Real Men of Genius: NRCC Version

Oh, yah. Ms. Ellers comments on the election:

Election night, after the ten counties in my district had reported their votes, I led Bob Etheridge by 2,100 votes. (That number is crucial because under North Carolina law Congressman Etheridge is not entitled to an ‘automatic recount' if he trails by more than 1% - or 1,888 votes.)

Then, yesterday afternoon - unexpectedly - the vote totals changed. The State Board of Elections reported my lead had dropped to 1,600 votes. Two hours later Bob Etheridge announced he intended to call for a recount.

(Just co-incidence that exactly enough votes were "found" to trigger a recall. Wink Wink Wink.)

Of course it gets worse.

Yesterday, we appealed to the National Republican Congressional Committee for support, asking if they could contribute to help pay the costs of this recount. Their answer, unfortunately, was, No

NRCC didn't contribute a dime to her campaign--but pissed away money on three OTHER campaigns in NC--all of which were losers.

Real Men of Genius.

65 counties in North Carolina use paper ballots tabulated by optical scanners, considered accurate and efficient.

35 counties in North Carolina use touch-screen voting equipment, replete with problems.

Dump the techonology and go with something proven. Simple solution.

Well, boo, hoo, hoo. The difference resulted from the addition of results from three early voting sites which were not included in the Tuesday totals.

Incompetence? Certainly.

Voter irregularities? Show me definitive proof.

As far as her whining for funds from the GOP to help her during a possible recount, she should have exercised fiscal constraint.

Get use to it. The BEST alternative is a clean break from the RINOs and forming a third political party with only "true" conservatives.

Votes are still coming in in my district 3 days after the polls closed. It's called counting the absentee ballots which only need to be mailed on election day.
