A vote on judicial retention made history Tuesday night when all three Iowa Supreme Court justices on the ballot were ousted from the bench. Chief Justice Marsha Ternus and justices David Baker and Michael Streit all received a majority "no" vote.
Until then, no Iowa high court justice had lost a seat since the state adopted a merit-selection and retention system in 1962.

Representative Steve King is leading the Homegrown Justice Tour and urging Iowans to vote against retaining three justices who were part of the unanimous ruling that said banning same-sex marriages was unconstitutional.
