Whither the Nuclear Waste?

McIlheran picks up on the problem.

As the AP reported Thursday, the energy secretary, Steven Chu, reiterated that the feds' plan for a secure storage site under a pretty much unchanging rock in Nevada is dead. Their better idea? It's . . . well, it's . . . coming.

.....maybe....(not really, but) maybe.....

OK, well, then...how does RealRevo sum it up? P-Mac provides the quote:

"Coal is dead. Natural Gas is dead. Solar, wind and hydroelectric are unreliable and now nuclear is being destroyed. at least in the near term. There is no currently available technology to safely and cost effectively process spent fuel.

"Obama is debauching the currency, creating a national debt that is unimaginable, raising taxes and undermining every source of energy that powers the engine of modern civilization.
"What is this guy's end game? It looks increasingly malevolent."

Ummmnhhh, yah.

Meantime, I have carefully considered the options and I propose that we stuff the nuclear waste into the anterior receptacle of Our President.

What's left over will neatly fit into Ted Kennedy's capacious innards.

Energy is National Security. these clowns have been talking out of both sides of their mouths for decades. They claim they want clean (carbon-free) energy, but kill the largest source.

Spent fuel can be safely reprocessed. Japan and (surprise) France have been doing it for years. The US had a completed reprocessing plant ready for operation in 1980 and then-President Jimmy Carter, in his infinite wisdom, closed it by executive order. "Nookyer Periferation" (and they said Bush sounded like an idiot). I worked in the industry for a long time. I throw the BS flag.
