$300 Million in Free Food?

 That's a lot of pizza.

State superintendent Dr. Jill Underly and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction announced they're calling for universal free meals for students across the state.

Underly proposed a nearly $300 million nutritional program to increase the access of healthy meals for Wisconsin students....

Every kid in every school gets breakfast and lunch.  But it's not "free."  Anyone who pays State income tax pays for it.

Moving on:  Why "free" food for everyone?

....According to the DPI's 2023 Youth Risk Behavior Survey, more than a quarter of Wisconsin high school students reported being hungry due to a lack of food at home....

Really?

1)  If you had a teenager in the house, you've noticed that they are always hungry.

2)  What is a "lack of food"?  Define every term in that phrase, please

3)  Did the survey cross-check with the adults in those homes?  Why was there "a lack of food"?

That's what "educators" call a "study."  No wonder Johnny can't read.  Send "Dr. Jill" back to her cubicle.
