Parents all over the country are in open revolt over "Critical Race Theory" curricula in grade- and high-schools. CRT pushes "equity" as its goal, because "equality" is not good enough for the oppressed. How do you know you are 'oppressed'? You are not Caucasian. Simple, no?
Anyhow. The State of Oregon has now entered the Nirvana of Equity!
Oregon Governor Kate Brown (D) quietly signed a law last month that suspends proficiency requirements for high school graduates for the next five years. Now, Oregon students can graduate without proving they can write or do math — a move the governor’s administration claims is “equitable” for “students of color.”,,,
Not even California in all its glory has found its way to the Nirvana of Equity.
It is not coincidence that Oregon allows violence against Christians, nor that Oregon passed anti-Catholic-education laws. That State is governed by an aggressive secularism bereft of reason which we discussed below. Only an irrational secularist could pretend to themselves that "equity" in education is a good for anyone.
P.S.: Here's a telling detail about the Supreme Court case Oregon lost (cited above):
...The initiative, also known as Measure 6, was inaugurated by the Scottish Rite Masons of Oregon. Proponents included the Ku Klux Klan and the Federation of Patriotic Societies, who believed that the law was necessary to preserve and perpetuate a homogeneous American culture....
'Nuff said.

I think the reasoning of this very stupid and racist.
But having said this, I am against these these tests and always have been.
The teachers and school districts know what is on the test, so they teach to the test and disregards everything else because this is how teachers and administrators are evaluated on.
When I was teaching, it was obvious that the teachers were teaching to the test, their curriculum and lesson plans reflected it. And if the students fall behind, oh well, sucks for them, but the teachers had to follow the test questions.
