Jesuit Virtue-Signaling

Anyone paying attention to various Jesuit enterprises notices that they are very good at virtue-signaling.  Here in Milwaukee, the (somewhat arrogant) President of the Jesuit high school ripped out a mural portraying Fr. Marquette and his Indian guide, because the guide was kneeling at the feet of Marquette.

Aside from the question "Was the guide showing Marquette something on the ground?" and the obvious artistic convention of placing--in this case--the 'holier' at altitude compared to the 'not holier,' the President apparently knew that his personal judgment of the mural was far better than that of the previous Presidents of the school and the alumni who paid for it.

Virtue Signaled!!

The "adult" Marquette--the U--has also signaled its virtue by requiring all its students to be Vaxxed.  Concerns about the vax's derivation utilizing aborted babies?  Nope.  About the demonstrated risk to women's (and men's) fertility?  Nope.  Risk of heart problems in young people?  Nope.

Virtue Signaled!

Well, then..........Although it's not exactly news, this came up recently:

...The Jesuits of Georgetown have committed themselves to pay reparations to atone for their slave-holding years. Indeed, the “Catholic Gentlemen of Maryland” (the legal name of the early Jesuits) were among the largest slave-owners – in open violation and defiance of consistent papal teaching forbidding both the trading and holding of slaves....

Of course, the Jesuits are not paying 'reparations.'  The students are, through tuition and fees.

Virtue?

Not so much.
