Lerner has to know her career at IRS is toast. All that's left now is to jockey for the best exit possible. Sooner or later she'll probably be offered a deal sufficient to get her to flip on her bosses. She has to decide whether she can get a better deal from Congress or a possible special prosecutor. She certainly knows where the bones are buried and should command a pretty sweet deal.
Her "bosses" may not be who you think they are. She was a Bush appointee. She knew what was going on but did not follow up to make sure that it had ended. Then she planted a question at a presentation a couple of weeks ago in order to expose the "evil-doers".
Things are not adding up.
